Welcome

to Function and Finesse! Thank you for taking the time to evaluate this group of females, a group with the quality to further the genetic value of the Gelbvieh breed. This event began as a dream, became a plan and is now a reality. The idea behind Function and Finesse began years ago. With our individual purebred backgrounds, we had both dreamed of someday hosting a production sale. Over time, the dream seemed to become more of a possibility. When we moved to Saskatchewan, it was something we talked about more often but it remained a ‘someday, when the time is right’ dream. They say, ‘when you know, you know!’ By December of last fall, after enjoying successes we never thought possible, everything came together to show us it was the right time and the dream began to become the plan. We have long said this is a people business and the cattle are simply a vehicle to the people. With only 125 mother cows, we knew we wouldn’t be able to assemble the group of cattle we wanted on our own. We were so humbled and thankful when a few of our greatest friends in the cattle industry agreed to join us and to trust us wholeheartedly to create this event with the vision we had mind. The vision for Function and Finesse was very clear from the beginning. When Aaron first became involved in the Gelbvieh breed, there were many opportunities for a young producer to set in and buy a uniform group of females to build their program around. Similar opportunities have been rare in recent years and we feel there is a need to support young producers to become involved with this great breed and those already establish to become more so. A second piece of our vision was to eliminate variables to ease the buying experience. With this in mind, all the females on offer have been developed together, managed similarly and presented as one. Finally, we wanted to provide buyers with the most information possible and to utilize the programs endorsed by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association. In all possible cases, the females have been DNA parent verified, polled and colour tested whenever necessary and carry the orange Gelbvieh RFID buttons. In assembling this group of cattle and compiling them into this catalog, we are so proud of how the dream has become the reality and hope that we have successfully showcased our program, our friend’s programs, and the Gelbvieh breed. In these pages you will see cattle carrying a variety of prefixes displaying the depth of quality this breed has collectively produced. Our hope is that you see our pride in our cattle, our breed and our friendships. We look forward to visiting with you prior to the sale and certainly seeing you on October 18 here at Twin View. Please join us any time to enjoy our hospitality and to view the cattle. A one of a kind meal will be served following the sale. See you soon!

GOODVIEW GELBVIEH / Blair (306) 746-8037, Courtney (306) 746-8034, Kelsey (306) 746-8035 Goodview Gelbvieh, Blair & Lorie Bentz with their daughters Courtney and Kelsey are from Punnichy, SK. Aaron first came to know of the Goodview name at sales where they would often be bidding against each other. Our similar taste in good cattle became a foundation for a great friendship. In addition to a large grain operation, the Bentz family calves approximately 50 high quality females each year. Touring this herd of cattle is an absolute treat and something we highly recommend if you haven’t had the chance. Blair has volunteered as the Barn Boss at Agribition for a number of years and has served on the Canadian Gelbvieh board and now Courtney is the Man/Sk Gelbvieh Secretary. One of our favourite stories about the Bentz family happened before we moved to Saskatchewan. We were visiting Joe’s family for Christmas and told Blair we’d like to come for a tour. The answer was, “Absolutely, yes!” and to come on Boxing Day. When we arrived, we found the entire Bentz family home to celebrate the holidays together and we were welcomed to join them. That’s the type of people the Bentz’s are. They proudly offer their bulls through the Best of the Breeds sale in Yorkton each spring. We are so thankful to have them be part of Function and Finesse! JSJ LIVESTOCK / James (431) 740-5443, Shayla (204) 741-0018, jsjlivestock.com JSJ Livestock is home to James & Shayla Jasper with their children, Ethan, Aidan and Louelle. You will be hard pressed to find harder working, more driven people than the Jaspers. This family eats, sleeps and breathes Gelbvieh cattle. And good cattle they are! We have always appreciated the function you find walking their pastures with elite udders and feet. Cattle with the JSJ tattoo have far exceeded all our expectations, particularly the great Baha who happens to be lot 1! With James on the national board, Shayla on the Man/SK board and the kids all active in 4-H and junior activities, cattle are always front and centre at JSJ Livestock. If that weren’t enough, they are also reps for Masterfeeds products, James is a salesman for New Holland, Shayla is a nurse, James and Shayla are volunteer firefighters and their incredibly athletic kids do about every sport there is. With all these irons on the fire, you will never be turned down should you be in the Hartney, Manitoba area. We’ve visited several times now and each time is better than the last with great food and drink and endless visiting. Their spring online bull and female sale is always exciting. When the idea of Function and Finesse was born, there was no doubt we needed the Jasper family to be part of it! KERINESS CATTLE CO. AND JONUS CATTLE / Joe (403) 852-7332, Kert (403) 860-4634 Keriness Cattle Co. and Jonus Cattle is made up of Kert & Cindy Ness and Joe Ness & Brenda Faubion of Airdrie, AB. There are few people in any breed who are more passionate than the Ness’ are about Gelbvieh cattle. There are very few events in Canada the Ness’ haven’t attended to promote the Gelbvieh breed and at every stop, they leave with a list of new people they made connections with. Kert and Joe have both served on breed association boards and when our bull sale was first created in Alberta, they jumped on board and were in for the long haul. One of the things we admire most about the Ness family is their generosity. If anyone ever had a need, they would be among the first to offer whatever support they could. Quite honestly, we’re confident that Joe would give you the last shirt off his back if you needed it and he’d never expect anything in return. There are few Gelbvieh programs the Ness’ haven’t supported over the years. We’ve been so fortunate to work with the Ness’ and to watch the progression they’ve been working toward in their herd. Function and Finesse wouldn’t be the same without the Ness family and we are so excited they agreed to join us! FLADELAND LIVESTOCK / Del (306) 869-8123, fladelandlivestock.com Fladeland Livestock is a name synonymous with high quality Gelbvieh cattle. When Aaron first gained interest in the breed, the Fladeland name was one that quickly stood out. This operation, at Gladmar, SK, has produced countless ‘great ones’ and their genetics have consistently been widely sought after. If you follow our pedigrees, you will see the Fladeland name come up many times as the cattle have worked well for us. Wayne and Del & Lisa with their boys Dawson, Rylan and Brayden represent three generations who make up Fladeland Livestock today. It truly is a family approach as the youngest generation becomes increasingly involved. In fact, this is one of the things we respect most about this family. At every opportunity, the youngest Fladelands are encouraged to take the helm, share their input and to work hard. Our breed is in good hands with young people like these boys who will look you in the eye, shake your hand and talk cattle. Not only are we thrilled to have them be a part of Function and Finesse, we’re very excited to partner with them moving forward to be your source for Gelbvieh bulls at the new Fladeland Livestock and Twin View Livestock Bull Sale March 18 in Moose Jaw. LAST MOUNTAIN LIVESTOCK / Mark (306) 725-8198, Garrett (306) 725-7154, Levi (306) 725-7860 Last Mountain Livestock is the Johnson Family of Strasbourg, SK. Mark and Glenda along with their sons, Garrett and Levi are the Gelbvieh newcomers in our sale group. We’d heard the name when they purchased a group of females from the great McCoy program but didn’t officially come to know them until they purchased AWB Birch’s The Boxer 21D. We maintained a share in the bull and quickly formed an awesome working relationship with the Johnson family. For two years, The Boxer would breed at their farm before coming to us in preparation for fall shows. It was such an honour to share the title of National Champion Bull with these great people! The Boxer now has progeny on three continents. If that’s not a way to launch a breeding program, we’re not sure what is! We’ve had the pleasure of touring the Last Mountain cowherd several times. In addition to their small purebred herd they also run 300 commercial cows, most of which are bred Gelbvieh as well as a grain operation. They offer their bulls by private treaty at the farm gate year around. Our breed is so fortunate to have progressive newcomers like Last Mountain Livestock and we are equally fortunate to have them be part of Function and Finesse!

Words like ‘great’ and ‘breed changer’ are occasionally overused. This is not one of those times. JSJ Baha 35B is a model Gelbvieh female chocked so full of greatness and breed changing capability that it’s almost not fathomable. While on ‘holidays’ in 2017 we toured the JSJ program. Our cow tour was awesome and we were headed back to the yard before heading off to our next stop when James said, “There’s a couple cows behind the yard we could look at.” We could have declined and headed off but something made us head to the back pasture. We can only assume it was like being on a safari with one of the big five coming through the mist when this magnificent beast came over the knoll! With her stunningly sound structure, massive muscle design and rib shape, flawless udder, highly maternal look and elite foot quality, we quickly fell in love! After some negotiations, we convinced James and Shayla to let us partner with them on Baha and shortly after she headed to Twin View. We showed her and her bull calf that fall when she was the most talked about female in the breed after winning Brandon and was Reserve Female at Agribition. The following spring, we left her open to flush. We were again reminded of her greatness when she averaged 20 #1 eggs on 4 flushes. Baha is safe to her AI breeding to AWB Twin View Mayweather and is believed to be carrying a heifer calf. Our only regret? We did not get her flushed to this mating. We would venture to say the baby she’s carrying could be the next great donor cow in the Gelbvieh breed. Right or wrong, Baha sells in her entirety. We are expecting ET calves from several matings in the spring and have decided to share her with the industry. She is dilutor free making the mating options endless. JSJ Baha 35B is a great one, capable of advancing this breed with many years of production ahead of her. We simply can’t say enough about the pleasure it has been to have her walk our pastures and look forward to the indelible impact she will play in the JSJ program and ours. This may be the opportunity of a lifetime to have your chance to get that same impact in your program. AI bred to AWB Twin View Mayweather 39F on April 13. Exposed to AWB Twin View Mayweather 39F May 1-June 22. Preg tested safe to AI breeding, believed to be carrying a heifer calf.

The opportunity to select between two of our favourite Baha offspring is difficult for us to offer. We had every intention of making these heifers ‘untouchable’ however the idea behind Function and Finesse was to provide opportunities for breed advancement so here they are. They are sired by the balanced trait DDGR Resilient who was bred by the progressive Gustin program in North Dakota. He combines their strongest cow family with the Leverage AI sire who has made a huge impact in the US. Each one resembles their elite mother in different ways. Twin View Baha 25G ET is a tremendously long bodied, extremely powerful and heavily muscled black heifer while Twin View Baha 57G ET is a beautifully feminine red female who comes in a more compact and stylish package. Each one exudes traits we look for in highly productive and profitable females. A flush mate brother will be in our show string this fall and will be very easy to find. He’s extremely impressive! Red or black, the choice is yours. The second heifer will remain here at Twin View and we will certainly be watching closely at the success achieved with the female you choose to be yours!

We’ve long known the quality that existed in the pastures of Goodview Gelbvieh so when the Bentz’s agreed to be a part of Function and Finesse, they swung the gates and let us take our pick. The expression ‘kid in a candy store’ would be accurate. During our tour, we found ourselves overwhelmed by quality and possibility. It was this dark red heifer calf who first made our heads spin but when this mama cow, Goodview Pld Lovebug came behind, we were left picking up our jaws. We knew she was ‘the one’ to stand alongside lot 1 as an elite donor candidate. She is so beautiful to admire from any angle! Gorgeous through her front third, big middled, perfectly sound, dark red and super maternal are just a few ways to describe this stunner. It took plenty of arm twisting to convince Courtney to offer this opportunity but we agreed to only sell one of the pair.

Lot

Goodview Pld Lovebug has a perfect track record! Her first son sold to Sandy Slough Acres and a second son sold to RPS Gelbvieh. Goodview has retained a daughter and her other two daughters are in this offering with her. The best part for us? Her mother was purchased from us through the Wishlist as a bred heifer. Lovebug is sired by National Champion Bull, SLC Outback 142X who has left a major legacy at Goodview. To add to the excitement and possibility, Lovebug 17A is believed to be safe to her AI breeding to RWG Exact Combination, the 2018 Reserve National Champion Bull. This is certainly a loaded combination that further adds to the value in Goodview Pld Lovebug. AI bred April 20 to RWG Exact Combination 7409. Exposed April 25 - June 10 to Goodview Pld Eaton. Preg tested safe to AI breeding.

LOVEBUG

Goodview Pld Lovebug completes the trifecta of the Lovebug family offering. She is sired by OSF Red Zone 101C ET, a son of donor SLC Anita 122R. Red Zone was widely admired as a young calf when he was Junior Champion Bull calf at Agribition and then as a yearling bull prior to being brought into the Goodview program. Red Zone has sired a great group of females and his sons have been widely accepted in the Goodview bull offering. With an extended front third and extra length of spine, Lovebug 28F is a great combination of traits from sire and dam. With the opportunity to analyze her mother and sister and knowing her brothers have been very popular, you can see why we feel 28F is deserving of representing this cow family and the Goodview program. She is safe to the Bentz’s up and coming herdsire, Eaton who is backed by SLC Starbucks and the Fantasia cow family. Exposed to Goodview Pld Eaton April 15 - June 10. AWB TWIN VIEW

WICKED

15E

The best spot to begin the story of AWB Twin View Wicked 15E is to tell you about our lifelong relationship with the Rosso Family. John Rosso, his late wife Shirley and their family have been key influencers in Joe becoming involved in the cattle industry. When Joe was two years old, Johnny brought over an extra calf to put onto a cow at the Barnett’s. His only request was that he would own her with Joe and his brother, Blaine. That heifer stayed in the herd and began ‘the partnership cows’. Over the years they grew in numbers and the Barnett boys became involved in the purebred Simmental business. The Rosso’s were 4-H leaders, community advocates and remain the greatest supporters of any young people who want to build skill with cattle, especially Charolais. The third generation of Rosso’s is now active on the farm, particularly Will who has been dabbling with some Gelbvieh females. Flash forward to the PGA sale in 2018 when Johnny and Will teamed up to purchase Twin View Wicked 15E. Her calving date didn’t align with Johnny’s ‘no night check’ rule so she returned to Twin View where she had the stunning Crosby heifer who sells at her side. The Wicked family are no nonsense, easy doing, low maintenance, high output females who consistently do a whale of a job! 15E is all those things! She set down a textbook udder typical of the Bojangles females and demonstrated perfect skill as a mother from the first moment this heifer calf arrived. Over the summer we admired this pair more each day! Not only how hard Wicked 15E worked but also the quality she produced in this heifer calf. Now, mated to Exposure, the coupon inside will be like a winning ticket! We have a very limited supply of semen remaining on Exposure but this is the type of female he really clicked with. The best part? She’s believed to be carrying a heifer calf. It will be awesome! AI bred April 17 to FRL Fir River Exposure 8U ET, exposed to KHR Grizzly Red 39F May 1-June 22. Rosso Wicked 14G patterns much like her mother with her enormous middle, ideal udder design and attractive look. She comes out of her shoulder so high and extends toward a very feminine skull. Many know her sire well and have admired him for the job he has done in our program. Like many bulls, you don’t know their true value until their daughters come into production and that is certainly true of Crosby. His daughters are amazing! The udders are absolutely bolted on, teats are exemplary, feet are stellar and they are easy doing. If you’re at a point in your Gelbvieh career where you’re building a program, this mother daughter combination is as good an option as you’ll find in building a cow family. Act BW Adj WW Red

When the good people at Last Mountain Livestock told us to take our pick for Function and Finesse, we were thrilled! We knew when we saw LML Samantha 14G we’d struck gold. Her mother is a powerful female with awesome udder and foot who happens to be a direct daughter of McCoy Samantha 122P who was among the most influential females in the McCoy program and a past Reserve National Champion female. Aaron especially appreciated the volume and breed character of 122P. If that weren’t enough, Samantha 14G is sired by the reigning National Champion bull, AWB Birch’s The Boxer 21D! We could not be more proud of the job The Boxer has done both here and at Last Mountain. His sons are outstanding but we feel confident in saying that his daughters will be his greatest strength. He stamps each one the same with eye appeal, dark colour, long spine and perfect disposition. Samantha is all those things and so much more! The final bidder when the gavel falls on LML Samantha 14G will have done a very wise and profitable piece of business. Red

AWB Twin View Red 30G is another really attractive and kind hearted daughter of The Boxer, traits we certainly admire in this sire group. She is undoubtedly the longest bodied female in our offering which translates to awesome extension through her front third and a pleasing skull shape. If you’re looking for a larger framed, powerhouse type of female look no further! These traits combined with her Junior approved disposition make her a very attractive prospect. Ideal udder design, perfect lifelong feet, and big time volume are traits the Red cow family are known for here. Red 30G’s dam is a great example of those things. She consistently does a great job producing high weaning weights and we have no doubt that Twin View Red 30G will be the same. Red

GLAMORE

Stout made, round ribbed, big hipped and a dream disposition are all ways you can accurately describe KCC Glamore. The more we analyzed her during our tour, the more we came to love her. She carries as much brood cow character as any. When you study this pedigree, you find the awesome JOE Third Edition bull has played a major role in the growth of the Jace Cattle program and now works at Milne Gelbvieh. When the Ness’ had the opportunity to bring his influence back into the program, they very wisely purchased Glamore’s sire, Decepticon. What a beast! He looks like a beef bull should and is exceptionally impressive! To add to the genetic consistency, Glamore is double bred TVR Ultrasonic, a bull who made great contributions to the Ness program for a number of years. With looks and genetic power to burn, KCC Glamore is a female with the ability to advance any program. Will it be yours? Heterozygous Black

Udder and foot quality runs deep in the Christine family. 13G is sired by Goodview Diplomat, now jointly owned by Fladeland Livestock and Goodview, who has done a remarkable job in both programs. With bulls like Outback 142X, Starbucks and Axial in the pedigree, Christine 13G truly represents the genetic merit in the Goodview operation. JSJ Gisele 127G has an extremely stacked maternal pedigree including the Flossy cow family from the McCoy program and the highly sought after Get-NGo 90J. His daughters have proven to be potent and extremely productive Gelbvieh females who consistently work well. Gisele’s mother has an impressive history of producing beyond herself with three sons out working and two other daughters working at JSJ. Gisele 127G herself is completely ideal in so many ways. She is moderate and soft in her structure, sound in her design, attractive, big ribbed and exudes so much brood cow character. This is no surprise considering she’s a Crush daughter. We rank Gisele 127G very highly and have no doubt she has a long and bright future contributing to your bottom line.

Mothered by a beautiful two-year old VV Zake daughter, Daisy 2G has udder quality and brood cow character bred in for generations. A maternal brother to her dam is a herd sire for Milne Ranch. We are thrilled with the role her sire, Drake, has been playing here at Twin View in our heifer pen. He offers absolute sleep easy calving ease and his daughters are quickly making us feel we should be using him even more widely, particularly as they resemble his gorgeous mother. They are consistently moderate, sound structured and have a really maternal look about them. At 13 years of age, Gabby 32G’s grandmother is still going strong this summer at Deep Sands. Gabby is sired by an up and coming JSJ herdsire named Elite who splits his time between JSJ and Fladeland Livestock. What a stellar way to conclude the heifer calf portion of the Function and Finesse catalog! We’ve been raving about the quality in Crosby sired females and Twin View Luster 90G is about as good as they get. We really encourage you to take the time and study this female; words like intriguing and unique come to mind. You will be hard pressed to find a female in any breed with as much elevation out of her shoulder. She rises up to a stunning skull shape and absolutely beautiful front third. Blending seamlessly through her shoulder, she explodes into a massive middle third. Her maternal brother was one of our feature black bulls this past spring selling to 4 Bar F Ranch. If you wanted to be show ring competitive north or south of the 49th, Twin View Luster 90G could well be the female to do it with. Red

To add to their interest and value, their grandmother is past National Champion and donor cow, AR Julie 14J. Need we say more? FAITH

14F

When we made the trip to Hartney, we had no doubt we needed to come home with JSJ Faith 14F. Her 50% Balancer pedigree makes her unique in this offering but she is unique in other ways as well. Sired by the Schaff Angus bull, Ten Speed, and mothered by a Thackeray mother cow, JSJ Faith 14F offers the best of both worlds. She is good haired, heavy muscled and setting down a beautiful udder. She has been well loved by the Jasper kids and they successfully campaigned her to Reserve Champion Balancer female at Agribition last fall before Aidan showed her in 4-H. Her mating to the Jasper’s new herdsire, Ferda Grlz, only sweetens the deal. He was campaigned last fall alongside his gorgeous mother where she became a Sweetheart finalist. The bull calf Faith 14F is believed to be carrying has the potential to return big dividends in a big hurry! Exposed to JSJ Ferda Grlz 24F April 25-July 7. Observed bred May 21, preg tested 70 days safe on July 10. Due approximately February 12, believed to be carrying a bull calf. Act BW

A LL FRILLS AND LACE

53F

KCC All Frills and Lace 53F stood out among the bred heifers in the Ness program. She’s extremely powerful, heavy muscled and stout made and has the look of a mother cow. Sired by the Cowboy bull from Smither’s Land & Livestock and mothered by a very youthful Ultrasonic daughter, there is so much to appreciate about All Frills and Lace 53F. She has two maternal sisters who have been retained in the Ness herd. The early mating to Decepticon from Jace Cattle adds to her interest. We were so impressed by Decepticon this summer and admired his foot structure, his character and his overall mass. If her early calving date does not fit with your program, please visit with Joe or Kert. It’s safe to expect All Frills and Lace to be a very functional, productive female for years to come! FAITHFUL

17F

It took some convincing to include Twin View Faithful 17F in the offering. If you’ve heard Joe talk about any cow in the past number of years, there’s a very good chance he mentioned ‘Carmen Miranda’. A favourite of Joe’s since a calf, Carmen Miranda (Faithful 39D) eventually found herself in the showstring as a bred where she swept the breed in her division winning Brandon, Agribition and the Gelbvieh class in the First Lady Classic. He was quite excited when she laid down and had this dark red beauty! Faithful 17F has became known here as ‘Chiquita Banana’. She is clean jointed, level topped, big middled and was certainly stamped by the maternal character of her mother. Sired by Big N Rich, Faithful 17F combines calving ease and power in a beautiful package. To sweeten the deal, she’s safe to Twin View Mayweather who has us as excited as any ever has. The believed bull calf inside is royally bred with massive potential to be exceptionally good! AI bred April 18 to AWB Twin View Mayweather 39F ET. Exposed May 1-June 22 to AWB Twin View Mayweather 39F ET. Preg tested safe to AI breeding, believed to be carrying a bull calf. Red

Twin View Red 21F is another Knock Out daughter who has excited us from an early age. She is a sister to the heifers offered on choice in lot 17. Maternal sisters to 21F are working at Severtson Land & Cattle and Covington Gelbvieh in Colorado. The pedigree that backs Red 21F carries many big time players in our past breeding plans including RockM SockM, Yoicks and Rally Lou. FEELIN’ FRISKY

12F

What happens when an Angus breeder buys a Sweetheart membership, wins the whole deal and has some prize money to spend? They buy a great one! That’s exactly what our friend Riley Merrill did last fall. Riley and his family operate Bar Double M Angus in southern Alberta and have a very successful bull sale each spring. Riley is a student of pedigrees and genetics and he is kind enough to spend the week with us in Regina each fall. When he won the Sweetheart pot last fall, he antied up and bought this gem from Fladelands. There really wasn’t a plan beyond that so Feelin’ Frisky came here to Twin View. When we saw her mother this summer, we were blown away at the resemblance! Exceptionally long and deep bodied, Feelin’ Frisky has a perfect disposition, a good foot and is safe to Mayweather. This mating should prove to be a great compliment to each other and we’ll be excited to see the luck that follows her new owner like it has her last! Powerful and production oriented are words to accurately describe lot 29. Twin View Rainbow 1F is sired by many time champion, Boogyman, who we used with success. We had three daughters come into production this spring and the udder quality is unbelievably awesome. Her mother is a tremendous female whose maternal sister won the Sweetheart in 2014. Her grandmother, Rainbow 30U, consistently raised one of our heaviest calves each fall and had three sons sell to purebred programs before becoming a donor cow for us. You’ll find 1F to be more on the functional side rather than the finesse but there’s a ton of cow power in this pedigree and it’s rare that we let Rainbow females leave because their production value is limitless! A heifer calf by Mayweather will be stacked with maternal power on both sides of the pedigree and truly sweetens the deal! AI bred April 17 to AWB Twin View Mayweather 39F ET. The mating potential with a female like this is limitless and her baby on board should be awesome! AI bred April 29 to RWG Exact Combination 7409. Exposed to BLB Goodview Pld Eaton May 1-June 10. Preg tested safe to AI breeding. Red

87F

Twin View Deanna 87F has just kept getting better. Each day, she looks more like her grandmother, Lexxus, as she gets deeper bodied, soggier and broodier. As a bonus, she has a perfect disposition. Each time we look at her we have a tinge of regret in letting her go. Her maternal sister was the Champion Balancer female at Agribition in 2017 and sold to Braylen Blake Gelbvieh. A unique mating opportunity exists within Deanna 87F. Casanova is a 3/4 blood bull we’d intended to keep for ourselves a number of years ago but a mix up on DNA meant his percentage didn’t fit for our program. The calves we have had have come very easily and are impressive. A Casanova son in our bull pen will be very popular next spring! AI bred April 14 to SA Birch’s Casanova 5C. Exposed April 27-June 19 to BLB Goodview Pld Drake. Preg tested safe to AI breeding, believed to be carrying a bull calf. Red

EMBRYOS FROM AWB BIRCH’S NATALIE 22Z

Natalie 22Z is such an ideal Gelbvieh female! She is moderate framed, beautifully uddered, efficient, highly productive and seems to click with every mating. Her first son, Big Time, sold to JSJ Livestock and is the grandsire of Lot 13. Two other sons have sold into progressive commercial programs. Her first daughter sold to Cranview Gelbvieh of North Dakota after sweeping the heifer calf divisions at Farmfair and Agribition. Progeny from her flush to AWB Birch’s The Boxer 21D won the Senior Calf divisions at Agribition last fall. The heifer calf was the high selling purebred in the sale to Goodview Gelbvieh and the bull calf was none other than Twin View Mayweather. He went on to top our bull sale this spring to Ledgerwood Gelbvieh of Washington who were gracious enough to partner with us on him. He will show this fall in Canada before going to the Denver Stock Show and then home to Washington. We are so proud to offer his first services in Function and Finesse! Check out her natural daughter who sells here as lot 26! The mating to The Boxer has already proven itself to be outstanding. The proof is in the pudding as they say and this pudding is sweet! We loved this mating so much the first time that flushed her the same way this spring. The additional stretch and frame of The Boxer matches so perfectly with Natalie’s moderate frame and mass. The resulting calves could be red or black and will be stout made and right in every way. JLSL Apollo was bred by our good friends at Ledgerwood Gelbvieh and now calls Covington Gelbvieh of Colorado home. This homozygous polled, heterozygous black bull’s pedigree is a total outcross to Canadian cattle. He won his yearling division in Denver and our great friend, Alisha, was on the crew to fit him. She messaged us and said we’d love him. We weren’t able to get semen on him in time for breeding this spring so these embryos will be among the first calves in Canada. The choice is yours! We are offering a minimum of 5 embryos from either mating in any combination of the two. The winning bidder will have the option to take up to 9 embryos and can choose to take all one mating or mix and match. Embryos are exportable.
