RED MOON ANGUS HERD HEALTH
Red Moon Angus employs a complete herd health program focusing on preventative care of the herd. The breeding herd is vaccinated with Express 5, Fusogard and blackleg boosters prior to breeding. The calves are vaccinated in the spring and fall with Pyramid 5 Presponse and black leg vaccine. The bull calves are given Fusogard in the late fall and early winter for footrot prevention. I would like to wish the Moons the best of luck on their bull sale.

Bulls can be fed at Red Moon Angus until May 1st, if insured. Free Delivery to Williams Lake and Kamloops BC Livestock yards on Bulls over sold over $4000, delivery is at Red Moon Angus convenience. Other deliveries can be arranged, just talk to us.
ANGUS GS AND GENOMIC TESTING
All bulls in catalog have been DNA tested under the Angus GS program. Sires are verified. Genomic testing is one more tool for breeders to use to more accurately predict the future performance of animals as parents in the population, but this is not a replacement to performance data recording. Genomic test results in addition to pedigree, performance and progeny data for increased reliability of an animal’s EPD. Visual on the animal is still very important when choosing your herd bulls.
PRE SALE VIEWING
We will have the bulls penned on Saturday March 25th from 10 am to 5 pm for you to walk through at your leisure here at the home place. 10114 Snell Rd West, Vanderhoof, BC. You are also welcome to visit the farm from now to sale day.
Welcome to our 3rd on line timed auction for Red Moon Angus. Thank you to all that bid and purchased from us over the years. The way we sell the bulls may have changed but not the quality of the bulls. We are happy to team up with the BC Livestock Producers Cooperative NextLot system. Please feel free to contact us or Elysia Penner (250 570 1415) with any questions you may have on the system.
On offer are 20 Red Angus yearling bulls. Contacts from BCLC have walked the pen and will be familiar with the quality of the bulls. Please feel free to contact them.
Our bulls reflect the fundamentals we breed for, calving ease, structure, maternal traits, muscle and performance. They will be 15 to 17 months by the time they head to your breeding pasture. The Dam’s side of things plays a very important role in her offspring, as such we include as much info on her in our write-ups as we can.
More information is available as we get closer to sale date, such as current weights. We record every bull’s destination and can easily tell you if you have used a particular genetic line.
We continue to use Top AI sires in our lineup and purchase good walking bulls. Always keeping in mind the needs of our customers. All bulls in catalog have been DNA tested under the Angus GS program. Sires are verified. GS testing (genomic) info is not available at time of printing but will be available closer to sale day.

All the bulls are fed a home, we feed a balanced ration and our own grown dry mixed forage. Bulls are fed to promote healthy growth and development. The pen is on a complete vaccination program; including express 5 and protection for foot-rot, by sale day, all will have had their booster shots and ivermectin. We weigh throughout winter, weather permitting, weights may be viewed on our web site www.redmoonnangus.com. The pen is fed by hand and bulls are familiar with people walking amongst them. All bulls will be vet checked and semen tested. They will be ready to work for you!
Searching through our past bull buyers list we find it extremely satisfying to find the amount of repeat customers of our bulls, we can’t thank you enough for your continuing support.

Low BW Resource son, 84 lbs. Dam’s second calf averaging 79 lbs on two bull calves and weaning average of 676 lbs. This bull would make a good candidate to keep females for your herd from. Good footed and quiet. Her previous calf was injured and this is the first son to sell. She is a new line to our breeding program and she will make an impact going forward. Moderate framed cow.

Super calving ease from the 10H bull. Top 4 % for calving ease of breed average and top 10% for maternal calving ease. Dams BW 81 lbs and she did a great job on this bull from a 68 lb BW to 660 lb weaning in September. From one of the youngest heifers, came the 2nd calf for 2022. Fertility and longevity in the Chieftess line, they are generally smaller framed. The Grand Dam has a bull selling as lot 2231 another good calving ease choice.

The heifer this bull came from has a 96lb BW as such we would recommend he is used on larger heifers or second calvers. He ranks average in calving ease and top percentages for weaning and yearling weights. Actual weaning weight was 676 lbs.

Well put together Monopoly son, a calving ease phenom. Low BW and calving ease on both sides of the pedigree. This first calf heifer produced a 72lb calve and weaned him off at 672 lbs. Dam had a 71 lb BW. She herself has a calving ease epd and weaning epds that put her in top 10% of breed average. The Reba cow family has been a great producing line for Tom since his 4H days. Calving ease with enough performance to give you a paycheck.

A solid well put together Roosevelt son. 850 lb actual weaning coming from a mature cow who started him out at 88lbs. This is her 7th calf with another on the ground now. She produced the Hard Muscle 10H bull we used on our own heifers and she falls in the top 6% for calving ease. The Sire, Roosevelt puts a bit more BW and frame on his progeny. Sons working at Pelican Lake Ranch, Stanislaw & Ella Kocaj, and Arnold Nairm. Daughters being retained for the herd. He would be a good pick to retain some females from.

First of the Red Wilbar Motivate 661H son’s, Motivate has proven himself as a solid producer here. He is moderate in size with good muscle definition, good footed and a dark red color. We are now calving his second calf crop without issues. We will be looking forward to what his daughters will produce. Moon 25K bull calf comes from a hard working Tess cow, this is her 6th calf averaging 76lbs on bull calves and 69lbs on heifers. Excellent calving ease, maternal calving ease and milk in her pedigree. This son carries the same and would be a good choice as a female producer. A brother is working for Clarence Friesen and females retained in our herd.
