Welcome to the Third annual Spring Select Bull and Female Sale. This year we are pleased to welcome back Reanne Sanford with KRS Simmentals and are excited to have Al and Lorraine Sanford from Nine Mile Ranch joining as well, with some elite Red and Black Angus bulls. This year marks a new chapter in the history of this sale, with the addition of Angus lots on offer. Needless to say the Simmental-Angus cross is a popular and profitable choice for commercial cattlemen across the country, and we feel that the Spring Select will be a ‘one-stop shop’ for serious cattlemen looking to maintain or add hybrid vigor to their herds. We are once again proud to be hosting the event in our home town of Dawson Creek, BC, at the exceptional auction mart facility owned by the Exhibition and managed by VJV. Hat’s off to all the staff associated with these great establishments. KRS has once again brought a great pen to town. They are purposefully bred, and grown correctly. This is a balancing act that takes special attention to detail, and constant tweaking as weather patterns change. The end result is growthy bulls that stride out, and last for many seasons. Our focus is, and will continue to be our local Cattlemen. The herds in the Peace Region, are run in some of the most beautiful and abundant land available, however the terrain, weather, and predation can be a significant challenge for herd animals. Our stock is raised in this country, and we breed for it. Excellent feet, and legs, good hair coats, and hardiness need to be intact on every bull. The fall calf run was strong despite many feed and pasture shortages across western Canada. This confidence in the Canadian beef industry is a testament to diligent Cattlemen that focus on their herds. It is said in practically every bull write up, (every year), but the extra effort and attention spent on animal selection (especially breeding) pays off in spades. By selecting suitable bulls for each specific herd, producers can optimize their operation based on their own inputs, realizing efficiencies in all aspects from calving to feeding. These realized efficiencies ultimately increase margins, and make producers more money. I personally feel that this sale has a bull for every herd, and that they will positively affect your bottom line. I appreciate this bull for his muscle expression, travel, and spring of rib. He carries himself well. His dam is a super Jansen cow (93T) which produces a top calf every year. Her 2014 calf was a high seller in last yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s sale, and we were fortunate enough to lease him back in the 2015 breeding season. KRS Simmentals Cadillac has always been a standout; he is a dark cherry red bull, with tons of hair, muscle and a great disposition. His Dam KRSS Scarlet will be flushed this spring and many of her maternal sisters have bulls on offer this year. We chose his sire Crosby for our red females and he hasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t disappointed. We have really enjoyed seeing this calf and many of his brothers develop over the last year. TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the sale clerk before any cattle will be released. All monies are in Canadian Funds. BID - Every animal entering the ring will be sold to the highest bidder. SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. INSURANCE – Will be available sale day. All animals returning to Fallen Timber Farms must be insured. INFORMATION & PICTURES SUPPLIED - The information contained in this catalog is believed to be true and accurate. ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalog. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the Canadian Simmental Association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made.
