Dear Customers & Friends,
On behalf of the November Gold Sale Group, we would like to extend our warmest welcome to our 12th Annual Prospect & Club Calf Sale. We are excited to be selling our 4th year at the Lloyd Ex. We couldn’t ask for a better facility to be in, or staff to work with. This year looks a little different for us all pushing our sale up almost a full month, to Oct.19th this year. It excites us to see where this new year and new date will take us all!
It was another great year for our Junior members, and we could not be more proud of you all! These Juniors and their Families put on a lot of miles hitting Junior Shows across Saskatchewan & Alberta all Spring and Summer. We just love sharing in your milestones and memories! We feel extremely fortunate to work with such great people. We saw a lot of slaps & ribbons happen this year and we are genuinely just as excited as you all are- to know these calves turn out and are in such capable hands keeps us doing what we do! So THANK YOU!
The cattle market has never been hotter! It is such a good feeling to see these calves bringing the prices they should be- the future has never looked brighter! This year our Sale group has brought another very exciting group to town. One month earlier will still bring the same high quality group of cattle. We have a very exciting group of steers from top to bottom, consisting of calves that suited for all ages and all levels of competition. Whether you are just looking for a kid friendly 4H steer or that steer that could take you to the Stampede- we truly believe as you flip through these pages, you will find your calf. If you are on the hunt for a high quality purebred or commercial heifer to show or add to your herd, we have no doubt you will find one here. A group of heifers that can go straight from the show ring to the front of your pasture.
We are so happy to welcome our friend Mike Fleury back to the auction block this fall. We will say it time and time againwe sure appreciate you Mike! We appreciate your knowledge of cattle, friendship and your support over these past 12 years. Our sale just wouldn’t be the same without you and we are very lucky to have you in our corner.
As our lives get busier and time marches on, it always feels so damn good to come together each fall and spend these days together, as a family, have the support of one another, and do what we love- together. What a great way for our kids to grow up and what an honor it is to supply calves to such wonderful young people and their families. We can’t thank you all enough for your support in our programs- year after year. Thank you to our families and friends who come and ring the sale, sell calves for us and sit on the phones, do our chores at home, work in the back along side us, sit on the chairs out back and offer support, stories and laughs- where would we all be with out you! Thank you!
Yours Truly,

Benny is a younger steer- which we normally don’t have many of them to offer. We think this guy is an underdog and could be very competitive in the right hands. He is out of our favorite- Halle Berry cow family, and if you follow our genetics or look through our entire offering, she has a spot in a lot of our pedigrees. This guy is extra special as we will be donating 50% of Benny’s sale price to Better Together SK- www.bettertogethersk.ca, in honor of my brother Danny Magowan. For those of you that do not know, his life was tragically taken this summer. If we could help one person in his honor, then this donation is worth it. Our dear friend Deb McNabb started the Better Together movement to let people know they are never alone- there is always someone to talk to, even if it is a perfect stranger. Danny was a great man- funny, kind, so smart, generous, hard working, lippy, inappropriate- truly the life of the party. He loved his family and he loved animals. He was slowly starting his own Simmental herd. What better way to give back to a brother who has given me so much than to help others. I look forward to watching this little steer parade around the show ring this summer in my brother’s honor. I wish you all could have met “my Danny”- you would have loved him.

This steer is a special one. Probably one of the most well balanced steers we have ever raised. We love his front end, he has lots of middle, adequate hip, and a wicked leg set. Hair, a beautiful skull, fuzzy ears, and just an overall good look. This steer just has a ton of potential to do great things. We really look forward to watching him develop.

This guy is just so good natured it is hard not to fall in love with him. Chore Boy just clicks on this cow. Hangman is a full sib to Claire Cadieux’s steer “Fly” last year. Much like his brother before him he is huge hipped, huge topped, hairy and super quiet. A great steer for all ages and one that could be quite competitive.

We purchased this guy’s dam a few years back in the Nov Gold Sale from Wright Livestock. She is a great addition to our herd- especially if she keeps cranking them out like this. Simmy/Maine is our favorite cross for steers. They just have the right amount of grow with that extra look. Bobby is huge hipped, big middled and has a real nice front end on him. This guy is going to feed very well and will have an added look to compete.

This guy just has the best demeanor- he is truly hard not to fall in love with. He is a calf for all ages with some added look. He is super soft made, nice hipped, big middled, good footed and has the best fuzzy ears on the farm! He is out of a direct Halle Berry son who we used for clean up and unfortunately he hurt himself this spring and ended his career much too early. We wish we had more calves out of him as we just love them all. So Shake N Bake truly is one in a million! He would be best suited for an early show and won’t take much to feed- smart buy here.

Our old Earley Livestock 145B cow just keeps cranking them out. She hasn’t had a calf here that hasn’t made the sale. We sure hope for another heifer to retain in our herd before her time is up! This steer just keeps coming on- better and better every day. Nice fronted, long bodied, good hipped and hairy. We think this guy could be a lot of fun.

Woodstock is a Maternal brother to Dawson Fladeland’s steer last year, who was very competitive- ending the year as Champion Steer in the Radville Club and Reserve Overall Steer at the Weyburn Regionals. Woodstock is a steer we really like. He is hard to miss with his great haircoat & cherry red color. He is out of one of our favorite cows and his Walks Alone mama just clicks with a Simmy bull. Woodstock is big hipped, big topped, big middled, big footed and super quiet- just a good honest steer that could compete at all levels.

We really like this Daredevil steer. He just has the nicest profile- long bodied, lots of flank and middle. He just keeps pouring it on and we think he would make a really nice easy feeding 4H steer. His mother is a past show heifer of Jack’s and she is proving to be a huge asset to our herd.
Code Red is a maternal brother to Lane Robinson’s steer last year, who was very competitive at all of his shows. We think Code Red could definitely follow in his footsteps.

Here he is! the natural calf of the great Lolitta. For the last number of years we have been flushing and breeding her back to Here I Am but figured it was time for a change, and boy are we happy we did. When you compare this one to past years maternal siblings we find he’s got a lot more softness through his mid rib and flexibility in terms of his leg set. I may use the term “this could be one of our best steers yet” each year, but it wouldn’t be much of a breeding program if I didn’t. This one is GOOD!

A couple years ago Kaycee Buchanan posted on Facebook advertising some embryos for sale off her highly famed and decorated 10F cow and right away knew I needed to get in on a great opportunity. His unique markings sure make it hard not to notice him, but when you look further he’s got a ton of body and lots of grow. He was a member of our summer show string finishing reserve champion and PA Exibition, a feat that is just the beginning of a long show career ahead.

If you have been following our breeding program over the last number of years the cow name Sugar should sound very familiar. She has produced a calf in just about every addition the Nov. Gold Sale since we became a part of the group, and each one having a good run of success. The stand out of course being “Scooby” that the Brokenshire family campaigned aggressively. This years calf traded in the wild black and white markings for a nice solid red but still sharing all the same high caliber show steer traits we desire. Huge bodied, cool looking, and soundness are all there….oh ya and did we mention he’s super quiet!
This will be the last time in the foreseeable future to get your hands on a full sib to the 2021 Calgary Stampede Champion! Out of the all the flush mates we have seen over the years this one possibly could be the best one yet. He’s good hipped, good necked, with an extra long spine, all while standing on a sound leg and big hoof. He’s one that will just keep getting better as time rolls on. 19

Here is the other embryo calf off of Buchanan’s 10F cow. When you compare him to his black and white full brother this one comes in a touch smaller in frame size, yet has really began to shoot in growth and gain since weaning time. Really hard to look past the grey and white combo markings and to top it off he’s really good mannered. Being smaller in nature with a good attitude he would partner up well with a young or first time steer exhibitor.

We really appreciate this heifer a lot. She is definitely a hard one to part with. If I was to pick a purebred heifer to keep and show for ourselves this year- this is the one. We just feel she is the complete package. Her front end, skull and neck are just so striking. She is swoopy bellied and awesome on the move. She was named Champion Simmental Heifer Calf and Reserve Simmental Female at this year’s PA EX. We think this is just the beginning for her. She goes back to our Herd matron- Timberland 7A on the bottom side. Timberland has left her stamp on our herd- Misty is proof in that. Take her home, toss on her halter and go win some ribbons. Arch Holdings reserves the right to show RSA ARCH Misty 551M at the Lloydminster Stockade Roundup. She will be shown under Arch Holdings & the new owners names. We really love Party- she is literally the quietest heifer we have had around in a long time. She would come running to be scratched and petted as a baby, and she still does the same. She would be a great competitive heifer for all ages. A cool little brockle face, nice big middle, great set of feet and legs under her- this one will make you a cow. Her Dam is an embryo daughter out of Vanity Fair 221D, a direct Muirheads Timberland 7A daughter. The Driver females we have in our herd have excellent udders and feet and are proving to be worth their weight in gold. This was our first year using the new GENEX calving ease bull- Bold Ruler, and we were super happy with his calves. They were all born small and unassisted and were up looking for a teat within the first half hour- tons of vigor. They grow well and all have great temperaments. Darlin is out of a big Maine cow from Pick Six Cattle. We bought her out of Jordan’s herd reduction and she has already paid for herself- a great asset to our herd. Darlin is just such a pretty heifer. She has all the right parts- long body, pretty front, a good hip, lots of bone, and great hair.
