It’s Touch of Class time again meaning it’s a great Angus weekend in Saskatoon December 7th and 8th! We have compiled another outstanding set of Red and Black Angus genetics from the consignors as to be expected. It truly is enjoyable every summer touring through each place to select cattle for the sale where they are going to come in from the top of everyone’s herd raising the bar of quality with each step. A committed sale group which comes from the same consignors year in and out is one of a kind in Canada and it great to watch grow over the last number of years. All the while the unity and comraderie of this group of people is admirable as they are quite competitive yet eagerly help each other in preparation of the cattle in the sale. We have a Red Angus herdbull on offer this year that made a great statement last year on the show road and through his first set of calves, this beast is impressive as he’s ever been and his calves do not disappoint either! The Red Angus portion of the sale is surely the deepest yet and when you open the first pages of the bred heifers and their quality you will be blown away! Then come the heifer calves and they are without a doubt as good as you can find coming from cows that have made great impacts on the breed. Don’t misunderstand this as to say that the Black portion of the offering isn’t as good. They are exactly what has made the TOC sale a great source to purchase some of the very best bred heifers that will sell in the Angus circles this fall. Meanwhile the heifer calves are destined to greatness whether it be in the show ring or the pasture. Last but not least we have the frozen genetics, cutting edge genetics from cows that truly have left their mark on the breed! Join us for the TOC Friday night and the Pride of the Prairies on Saturday, it’s always a great couple days of Angus sales and fellowship! The social after the sale Friday night will be held at the Sandman Inn hosted by both sales groups! If you are unable to make it please feel welcome to give us a call, we would like to hear from you if we can be of any service! See you sale day!

Donation Lot IN SUPPORT OF THE MS SOCIETY OF SASKATCHEWAN Donated by 20/20 Angus and Triple L Angus “In Loving Memory of Norma Legaarden”

Mom was an avid Angus enthusiast right from her early days on the family farm of Edward and Margaret Heil of Laurel Creek Farm through to our family farm of Kenlis View Farm along side her husband Garry Legaarden, and then finally watching and smiling as Bernie, Chantz & I built 20/20 Angus and my brother Jeff, Kim and their boys grew Legaarden Livestock. Mom battled with MS for over 40 years, never giving into it and always being a supporter of the MS Society until this fall when the battle with MS and other complications became too much. Randy Tetzlaff and Owen Legaarden were talking this summer after the passing of Norma Legaarden, Owen’s mother. The impact that MS has had on so many people they knew including Randy’s mom Susan Tetzlaff and a good neighbour and friend Blaine Bentley who lost his battle with MS as well. From the bottom of their hearts they teamed up and decided to offer a bred heifer together from their families to raise money through a Dutch Auction at the Touch of Class. All proceeds to be donated to the Saskatchewan MS Society. We selling auction tickets prior to the sale including the Dutch auction to take place AT THE START of the sale where any donation belongs! Please feel free to contact Randy at 306.231.6969, Owen at 306.906.7070 or ourselves at Castlerock Marketing. We will take, cash, cheque or E transfers for this heartfelt donation from the families at Triple L Angus and 20/20 Angus. Tickets are $10 each and for every $10 you spend on tickets gives you a chance on winning this Registered Angus Bred Heifer.

It took some prying but we were able to secure this awesome breeding bull as a Headliner for the TOC! Jagger comes with a power packed pedigree, great show record as he was Grand Champion Bull Lloydminster Stockade 2017, Grand RED VGW GAME PLAN 816 AMF NHF OSF MAF RED VGW GAME PLAN 508 AMF OSF MAF RED VGW TW DOLL 0270 Champion Bull Manitoba Fall Fair 2017 in 2 of his 3 outings. Best of all was RED SIX MILE & CO JAGGER 780A RED SIX MILE SAKIC 832S OSF MAF RED SIX MILE CHETA 702W OSF MAF getting rolled at Agribition as it brought a lot of people to the stall to see the bull RED SIX MILE CHETA 716S OSF MAF and comment on his qualities as a bull! But most important the proof is in his RED NORTHLINE ROB ROY 122K OSF MAF RED NORTHLINE REV 341R OSF MAF progeny and to date his bull calves have averaged 85lbs at birth with an average RED NORTHLINE GEM 341N RED MOON QUEEN 10U RED SSS TREMOR 225M Adj 205 weight of 749lbs while his heifer calves have averaged 79lbs at birth RED ALLAVON DYNA QUEEN 56P RED TASSEL DYNA QUEEN 37J with Adj 205 weight of 649lbs indexing at 105. This is recorded in the two herds BW 205D BW WW YW Milk TM of J Bar Dee at Outlook, Sk and Rockpoint Angus at Birsay, Sk. While these 90 2.3 46 71 27 50 two herds do not run large numbers of cows they have used the bull hard for 3 seasons all the while being successfully shown last fall. With the third calf crop coming in the spring of 2019 makes this bull expendable with years ahead of him working in the pasture! Sound footed, great tempered and dark red are what he has sired for calves on a consistent basis. The proof is in the pudding! Oh did I mention easy fleshing, this bull holds his condition quite easily and effortlessly! The first set of females will calve next spring and if they look like his dam, 10U the females will definitely be an asset. The Rev daughters at Triple L and Moons were dark red, easy fleshing cows with some performance to them. Male

Selling ½ interest and full possession including 350 doses of Canadian qualified semen. J Bar Dee, Rockpoint Angus and Triple L will retain half interest and participate in revenue sharing with the new buyer!

31E is the first daughter of the Boss bull to be released from our program. He was purchased with Howe Family Farm in the spring of 2016 as the high selling bull from Flying K Red angus. He has left us a very strong set of calves, that exhibit his awesome foot structure, depth of body, and his dark red colour. 31E is a powerful long bodied, deep sided heifer that has the potential to crank out a herd bull. She goes back to our most prolific cow family the 126S cow who we had flushed a couple years back. She is also carrying service to the Roosevelt W384 son we own with Valley Hills Angus. 43E represents the cattle we strive to produce, being moderate, correct and very easy doing. Another Boss heifer that really crossed well with our herd and left us with strong set of calves. She is a brood cow in the making and one that is hard to let go. She is a carbon copy of her dam, and looks so much like the 126S cow that started this whole cow family. A full sib to 43E already headlines the bull pen and is one for watch for this spring. Everyone has that certain cow in their herd they look forward to what she has for a calf every spring, on pasture tours she is a perennial favorite and by late summer when the sales consultants arrive she usually has a heifer that is on their list or a bull that will lead off your bull sale the following year. Red Wilbar Brndina 638S is “that cow” for Wilbar Cattle Co. The phrase could be used, “wish I had a herd of cows that looked and produced like her.” Since the first year Shane selected sale cattle from us he has wanted us to consign 638S or a daughter to a sale and every year they have been on the not for sale list…until now. With currently 17 progeny out of 638S you could say we are focusing our red herd around this cow. She is moderate, with exceptional rib shape, deep bodied and beautiful uddered. Like her, her daughters are all the keeping kind and is why, till this sale we have never sold one.

15F is a heifer that we are very proud of. 15F was mothered by a two-yearold heifer that did a fantastic job and out-produced herself on her first try. 15F has the mass and body that just demands your attention when analyzing her. 15F is a heifer that is level-hipped, big ribbed, with a nice maternal look. 15F is another outstanding monopoly daughter and one that would be an asset to the most progressive breeding programs.

For this years TOC sale we had two 1/2 sisters entered both sired by Benelli. Unfortunately soon after Shane was here for selections we had the misfortune to have one die!!However we are pleased to consign 14F to the sale. This top performing dark red Benelli daughter is a highlight of our 2018 calf crop. Benelli needs no introduction. Her mother 48Y is a maternal sister to the $51,000.00 Ironhide 4Z bull we raised. This heifer not only will be production oriented, but we feel she will have the phenotype to be in the show ring. She is part of our show team this fall.

Lydian 4F is a dark red, moderate made heifer that is well balanced and very eye appealing. Her pedigree is anchored by the strength of the Lydian cow family combined with breed leaders like Assassin, Hustle, Moonshine and Patrick. A junior prospect or replacement she will not disappoint! She comes right off the top of the herd, Shane said if it didn’t hurt to sell her he didn’t want her, believe me it hurts!

Queen 885F is a fancy female sired by our Packer bull and out of an Answer 10X daughter. Packer has left us with some very popular daughters and sons since being one of Wilbar’s top sellers in their bull sale a few years ago. 10X has left us some top offspring over the years in both black and red varieties. He’s going to be 9 in the spring and moves like a young bull. 2142Z is a model angus cow with a near flawless udder and perfect foot structure. This calf is destined to be a great brood cow for her new owner. I always give the selectors their pick for the fall sales and this one is no exception... if she wasn’t here she would be in the keeper pen for sure!

A smokeshow of a heifer here out of the outcross breeding giant, Harvestor 103C that grabbed everyone’s attention a few springs back bringing $52,000 to Dvorak and Sandhill! He hasn’t let anyone down in his breeding prowess as his calves might even be better then he was himself. This heifer has a great front end, lots of rib, hair and class to her. Mom, a top cow for us with excellent feet and a great udder as we expect out of our Hesston daughters!

We feel this heifer is exceptional who come off the cow at 840lbs in early October after starting with just a 76lb birthweight. The Little Deep daughters are proving themselves to be a great set of heifers which we expected when we purchased him as the High Selling Bull from the KBJ Dispersal at $45,000. Great depth of body, muscling with a great set of lines to them keeping them from being extreme in any way. 454Z has been very consistent for us as a low birthweight source that raises good calves consistently including a bull recently to Y Coulee for $14,500.

Well here we have a bred heifer that is truly as sweet and feminine as they come. Chiseled, angular, great feet and legs are word easily used to describe Blackcap 120E. This a very nicely pedigreed female. Final Answer, Unanimous, Cedar Ridge are definite breed leading AI sires in her pedigree. Her dam is a complete and sound female in our herd. This is Alexis’s first contribution to the Touch of Class. She is very proud of her consignment. Blackcap 120E is from our herd sire Grand Slam 80C. This is a bull we have raised and now own with Bell Angus, Pense, Sk. Grand Slam 80C is producing stunning females and powerful deep bulls. His sons were our high selling sire group at the Blue Collar Sale this past spring. Make sure to analyze the paper work and the heifer herself very carefully on this foundational cow prospect. From the ground up and end to end this heifer will be one you will find very desirable. She was AIed on April 8th to Ellingson Homegrown. Blackcap 120E preg checked favorable to this date. Pasture exposure was to Skybrook Vision 6C from May 1st to September 15th

Nu-Horizon Jodie 7025E (2019342). This female is backed by some all-time greats in Final Answer, Bismarck, and Windy. She is a very quiet mannered maternal female who is beep bodied and bold ribbed. When you get behind her she has plenty of dimension. She is bred to PVF Insight who is known for producing females that excel in the show ring and front pasture. He also will produce bulls that will highlight your sale as well as work for the commercial cattleman. However, the natural service of our Kozi bull we bought from Hollinger Land & Cattle has turned many heads at the farm. You would not be disappointed with either service. This is one of Deb’s favorite bred heifers on the farm. She was preg checked on October 11, 2018 and the vet feels she stuck her AI. Here is a powerhouse female with a tremendous pedigree! 48E’s sire was the high seller in our bull sale this year selling to Gilbertson Ranch. After using him for two years, Capital proved himself over and over again by leaving us with power bulls and females second to none. Elsa’s dam, a Cudlobe Midland daughter, is one of those females that is hard to fault but what is really special is her maternal value consistently producing exceptional replacements as well as sound bull sale prospects for us. We expect 48E to follow in her footsteps. DFCC 15C Elsa 48E was exposed to Merit Sting 4047E. Sting has had an exceptional show career with his latest being crowned 2018 Reserve National Champion. We purchased Sting in the 2017 Masterpiece Sale for $52000. We could not be more pleased to see how he has developed and can’t wait for his calves. If you are looking for a top producing female to add to your herd..... DFCC 15C Elsa 48E has everything to make that happen!!! Exposed to Merit Sting 4047E from April 28-June 28.

A straight bred SAV bred female but you don’t have to go south of the line to pick this breeding piece up. Sired by the popular Resource bull who along with his full brothers need no introduction to the Angus circles. Again, that good Emblynette cow family that has made there mark at our place and many others. AI’d on April 26th to Herbster Chairman 512 (Semex Bull). The Lady Bird cow family has been in the for front of our herd and you don’t have to go back to far in her pedigree to find 21W, my favourite cow along with many that visit. 20/20 Eileen 44F will be the first and one of the very few Merit OneIron 5052 daughters we will sell. While having a few beeeers with our neighbours and great bull partners @ Currie Angus, the discussion focused around the potential of sourcing a herd sire out of the Merit Cattle Company program. After a couple different tours, the conclusion was made that both of our programs could use genetic effects of the EXAR One-Iron x Beverly Hills Visa.Eileen 44F is the exact representation of how we had hoped these genetics would work for us. Her mother Eileen 46D is typical of our Free Ride 8A daughters, that being loaded with volume and mass with the potential to be a long term genetic factory for us, while Eileen 44F comes to you with that same volume, however One-Iron has added an extra level of femininity and style. This Free Ride 8A X One Iron 5052 combination will be the future matrons of our herd.

This is a stunning Angus female. Tibbie 98F comes from a beautifully uddered, deep bodied, great footed cow family. The mating with Special Focus has produced this awesome female. We have Special Focus daughters working for us and they are proving to be hard working productive females. The temperament on the Special Focus daughters we have is unreal. They are easy to manage, train and work with at calving time. Tibbie 98F possess sound structure and is very pleasing to the eye. Her shoulder design and neck extension make her a very attractive female. Unanimous on the top side is a definite plus. The Unanimous cattle at our place have been great. Daughters are milking well, are deep, long sided and productive females. We own a home raised son-Grand Slam 80C with Bell Angus. His sons were our high selling sire group in last year’s Blue collar sale. Tibbie 98F is halter broke and would make a competitive junior/4H project.

Here is a rather unique breeding opportunity. The number of Effective 61 cattle is low in Canada. The ones we have raised enter the world fast and easy but then grow and compete real well. The Effective cattle are made right and have outstanding hair coats. Belle 90F is an attractive package that has one of our best raised bulls in her pedigree, Elixir 70M. This bull has produced great females in our herd. Jon Lock purchased an Effective daughter from us at Agribition 2014. She has been a real good purchase for him. Belle 90F is halter broke, responds nicely to the show cane. She would make an excellent junior/4H show project.

The donor dam 44X is a top-ranking cow at Brylor, she could be as good of Squall daughter as we have ever owned. She raised naturally Red Brylor High Capacity 44A selling to Jeff Fraser at $10000, again naturally a son to Zoratti Ranches at $9000. A daughter is at Dersta Farms, who raised their RRup entry in 2018. 44X herself was a $12000 purchase from RRup 2015 to Brylor and On the Mark Cattle Co. This mating is very predictable as a full sister to this basket of eggs sold to Fraser Farms as the $14 900 high seller in TWAV 2017. The sire of these eggs, Rush Lake, was the $73 000 high seller at Agribition in 2012 to Stauffer Ranches.

Mulberry 26P has impacted the breed from the outset, starting with his progeny being a major force at the World Angus Forum in 2009 winning the Get of Sire. Years past and Mulberry has sired hunreds of calves that have made top end brood cows and herdbulls that have set the pace. Last year at the First Mulberry Mayhem held in Canada his progeny were very much in demand averaged just over $6500 per head. The semen offered on Mulberry brought $175 for 100 straws! Nobody pays that for a bull that doesn’t work! Thank you to Bryan and Sherry MacKenzie for donating this semen to the festivities to be held Friday night after the TOC. This social for the Touch of Class and Pride of the Prairies has always been a night to remember!
