Touch of Class time has come again and as to be expected we have gathered up and strong offering of Angus genetics, live and frozen to match the most discriminating eyes. The heifer calves as usual come from the top of the respective herds as do the bred heifers that have both proven to be excellent investments for the long term. 2020 has been challenging but coming off the likes of Red Roundup and Lloydminster Stockade which we both extremely successful events we cattle breeders gathered and had a piece of normal amongst their friends and family. These events proved to be a great source of energy and comfort for all who were able to attend and we expect the same with the Touch of Class sale under the given guidelines, people in general just feel happy to be out and about talking cattle and looking at who’s got what happening. We have pulled through the tough times before and we will again, we are resilient! Peruse the offering, check out the videos, stop by the yards to look at the cattle at your will and comfort I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed in what you see. The TOC group takes great pride in bringing the top end cattle to town and the buyers have come to expect just the same If you have any questions feel free to give Devin, Mark or myself a call if we can be of any service to you! See you sale day!

Rita is a maternal sister to Rita 117G who sold through this very sale last year to Perrot Cattle Company. It’s too bad that we didn’t have too many opportunities to show 106H this year as she would have been very competitive. This Firebrand daughter is the last natural calf out of “Old Rita” who has left her mark on our herd in so many great ways. In our mind she has donor written all over her. So many possibilities with this one!

This coming winter, when the MLG Momentous daughters come into production, we may look back and wish we had kept every single one! Annie K is going to make a wonderful cow. Her mother was a Touch of Class graduate that we purchased from Triple L Angus for $9,000. She has a maternal sister working in the Dayora herd in Ontario. This heifer has a super sweet disposition and is halter broke.

Well here we are 362 chaotic days later; last minute working on T.O.C. sale footnotes. With all the change and chaos heading into this 2020 version of the T.O.C., we at 20/20 as well as Shane felt one familiar and positive factor was needed; so again we are offering a top heifer going back to our original Tetzlaff female. No need for another long winded Triple L ego boost session this year. ITS SIMPLE, these Triple L females work their hearts out for us and continue to do so year after year thus allowing us the ability to offer a good one every year to the T.O.C. 20/20 Blackcap does this in a heavily muscled yet very feminine fashion, steering us to believe she has a bright future within this industry. Whether that be leaving you a top notch bull or placing one to the top of your replacement female group.

BOLD 18H puts the pedigree to paper that speaks volumes to the 20/20 Angus program, past & present. Her bottom side traces back to one of our most favorites in DMM 99K all while combined with our past female maker in SCC Tiger 15X. On the top side her sire Brooking Bank Note 7113 is only just hitting full stride for us. 7113’s daughters will be the future core of the 20/20 and to this point we are more then excited to watch them take that lead.

123H is one long spined sweet heart of a heifer. Her maternal side is stacked with tons of longevity. Her grandmother is none other than 216N which is the mother of Magnum which caused such a stir at the U2 dispersal. She is still in production today at 17 years of age. She is a paternal sister to the great bull Double C brought out to the tour this summer in the south east. This one has the cow look.

The dam to lot 6, 4U is the top producing Lassie cow in our herd to date. She has consistently had a saleable female or that has been retained. She’s a big bodied, broody female that adds a little extra punch to her calves. A maternal sister is at Jeff Fraser’s in Manitoba. 56H is our heaviest weaning heifer that is a powerhouse with performance that boasts a lot of style and femininity to her makeup. We have retained a full sister to 56H in our herd allowing Shane to pry this heifer out of our hands as she is a foundation type female!

Cheta 1H is a large powerful heifer that stood out all year. Her mother is a flawless daughter of our old Daytime bull. He went back to Make My Day and left a very great set of daughters in his time. 610D had a fancy Pokerface daughter on her first try that was retained. Her second calf was a Pokerface bull calf that was also retained, watch for his calves next year! Eliminator is a bull that is really proving his worth in the offspring he has produced so far. He has left us with another tremendous set of daughters! A true mix of old and fresh new outcross genetics makes this heifer one like no other!

Well there is a phenomenal list of adjectives I would use to describe this heifer they are stunning, deep, powerful, attractive, sound… This heifer has tremendous rib shape, and a feminine and appealing head. This heifer is sired by our up and coming Super Duty 89F, a SAV Cutting Edge son out of our powerful Elite dam, Princess 99Z. Super Duty’s calves are all outstanding. Each one is stamped with his brand without a doubt. The maternal genetics in this heifer are explosive, powerful and productive. She has Thunder, Cutting Edge, Special Focus and J Edgar Hoover in the mix. We have females working from all these sires and doing an outstanding job for us. Her mother 73E, grand mothers 88C and 99Z are foundational cows for us without question. This heifer is halter and show broke. She would make a super competitive show project and with all the maternal power in her pedigree she will be sure to kick out some darn good calves too.

Here is a female that is smooth and angular in her lines. She is very pretty headed and has mother and grandmother that are very deep, powerful and structurally sound females. We have a maternal daughter working in our herd. She dropped a heifer calf last spring that is now in our replacement pen. Trapper was used here for his moderate birth weight, solid growth potential and super phenotype. He has been touted as an excellent female producer and possess unique outcross genetics for us and many others. A maternal brother to this heifer sold to Irving Angus in the Blue Collar Bull Sale this past spring. He is doing a very good job for them to this point. This heifer has tonnes of hair that really pops, she is gentle and quiet in her nature. She is halter broke and would make a great starter heifer for a younger junior member.

Lot 10 CONSIGNED BY LOCK FARMS

If your looking for that heifer that come with that extra length, big hip and is square on foot this might just be the one for you. Her dam is an up and coming young star her in our program with an excellent udder and hair to burn. Also look for our donor cow 21W in her pedigree. When we got into a pinch a few years back and 20/20 Angus was good enough to lend us “free ride” For the summer we didn’t know the lasting impact he would leave on this program. His sons topped the Pride of the prairies bull sale that year and daughters are home run hits time and time again. On 307H’s top half you’ll fine BUSHS CLIMATE CHANGE 837. We found him in the yards a Denver a few years back as part of the reserve champion pen of 3 bulls and decided he’d fit the program up north as a walking bull. Had this fall been normal we would have had him on display at many of the shows. His dam BUSHS BELLE 4723 could very well be the BEST angus cow I’ve seen to date and is one of the reasons we bought her son. 307H has a bright future and is backed by some great females on both sides of the border.

Wilbar Annie 843H has been one of our favorite heifers through the summer. She is both powerful and elegant. The Countdown females are all deep sided individuals with proud feminine front ends, the kind you could hang a halter on for sure. The udders developing on the bred heifers are awesome. Annie’s dam, 224C was an $11,000 pick of the Arda heifer calves in 2016. She is a gorgeous uddered female that has indexed 104 on 4 heifer calves including the dam of our consignment to the Brooking Invitational this year. Have a close look at this one, we think she’s pretty special.

This heifer is out of a solid cow purchased from Laycock’s as a bred heifer. She has an extremely feminine look to her, beautiful neck extension and an abundance of style. Her sire is a Lute son we purchased from Wilbar and has he ever done a good job here! A maternal sister has been retained and looks to be a very promising first calver with a great udder. 4H represents the type of females we are trying to churn out with the potential to further the calving ease abilities through her bull calves.

20H is a moderate, deep bodied, soft made type female that has been bred to work hard and deliver results consistently. Her dam and granddam mirror this same look very much with an udder we aim to have on all of our cows with great feet and longevity look to them. Alaska 264E has left us a very strong set of calves both male and female. Sons being stout made, ranch type bulls and were well received by our buyers. The heifer calves weaned off as the most consistent sire group at the farm.

Something unique is being offered this year from J & S Cattle Co they are offering a pick of the bred heifer offering and their 2020 heifer calves. An interesting opportunity with no holds barred in regards to what it available. You will have the opportunity to look through the cow herd, study the genetics and make your selection. In fact, come to Saskatoon on December 11th and have Jason tour you through their operation and look forward to what genetic gems are available. 15 years in business and the set of cows at Kenaston will undoubtedly impress you. 2008 marked a key genetic piece of the puzzle added to the herd when 25 cows were purchased from Schaff’s Angus Valley and many of the top cow families came to Saskatchewan via SAV. You will find the likes of Madame Prides, Emblynette, Bessie Heiress, Abigale, Primrose and Rosetta’s that will go along with the Tibbie, Echo, Evening Tinge, Rosebud to make up a list of the who’s who of the Angus business. Every fall when going out to J & S I look forward to a trip through the bred heifers as they are big, powerful bred heifers that stand on a sound foot, great hair and an abundance of style, the picking is never easy. The bred heifers were exposed to HF Element 220G from April 23rd to May 31st then exposed to Youngdale Goal Line 57G from June 4th to August 1st. Any animals requiring DNA the costs will be covered by J & S Cattle Co. The successful bidder will have until December 31st, 2020 to make their selection from the bred heifers. Now for the heifer calves, they are an exciting bunch of calves off the newest herdsires at J & S and if you’ve paid attention to when they are buying a bull it’s only from the front end. Sires of the 2020 heifer calves are Eastondale Element 25’18, Peak Dot Tour of Duty 20C, Peak Dot Herdbook 301F and Bush’s Cover Shot 107. The successful bidder will have until March 1st, 2021 to select their choice of the heifer calves.

17G is a heifer that immediately grabs your attention whenever you see her and is from the top of what I consider our deepest group of bred heifers to date. Being from our most prolific cow family (The Syringa’s); I feel her potential is unlimited and she is hard to let go. Two members of this cow family sold back in the 2018 TOC to Kenray Ranch and Cockburn Red Angus respectively. Additionally, she is sired by a Cowboy Kind son out of Cockburn’s great Hauck 459W cow. The pedigree on this heifer I feel is as stacked maternally as any heifer we have offered. Bred to our new proven outcross sire that we own with Valleyhills Angus. Exposed to Red Valleyhills Replay 70E: April. 25 – June.10. Due end of Feb.

22G is moderate, deep sided, with very sound structure. She is designed to be a low maintenance female that will annually put her calf into the top of the pen. She is one of the very few Coming in Hot breds to sell in 2020. His progeny and semen have been on fire in the sale ring the past 2 falls. 22G was an in-dam purchase from a package of cows we bought from Spittalburn Farms back in the fall of 2018. Her dam has done a great job at both operations and is quickly noticed on pasture tours; while weaning off one of the heaviest bull calves this fall. Bred to our new proven outcross sire that we own with Valleyhills Angus. Exposed to Red Valleyhills Replay 70E: April. 25-June. 10 Due End of Feb.

114G is a deep dark red beauty of a heifer. She is extremely stout with a great foot. Her sire’s dam and sure impressed a number of people on the Sask Angus tour a few years back in Lloydminster. Her sire has an extremely interesting pedigree and if she happens to be carrying a bull calf could be a herd bull with the interesting mating she is carrying. This is a very broody-type heifer with lots of middle to her. Her dam is a moderate-framed Benfield Substance female that always produces a top-end calf. Unfortunately, this is the last of our Laramie offspring as we had to sell him last year due to injury. This female’s dam, Lassie 16D is a female we selected from Red Roundup from the great people at Ward’s Red Angus. She was admired by many that year and has not let us down. Her first daughter has been retained and this is her second. This one is a well put together daughter of our Eliminator bull. We are excited to have his first daughters calve in January. This broody female is destined to be a great addition for her new owner. Shane had his pick of the pasture and certainly picked two of the best. The Rosey cow family has been a treasured addition here at our place that started from the great Fineline herd. Rosey 647D was picked as a calf to go to Red Roundup as a calf and was sold to Bar 4A. We were then more than delighted when we were able to purchase her back through their dispersal. Her first calf was a bull calf that was retained for our commercial herd. This is her second offspring and her third is one of our top bulls this year. Pokerface is a bull that has done nothing but good at our place. His daughters a phenomenal and sons have great muscle expression on top of a great set of feet. And anybody that has used him…. will comment on the disposition, they are the quietest cattle we have ever had. One of the most interesting parts of the equation might be the calf inside being sired by MRLA Resource 23F. Ask the guys that bought the Pokerface daughter bred to Resource last year what you can get! Exposed to MRLA Resource 23F from April 18 to June 25, 2020. Red J Bar Dee Erula 32G is a very thick, dark Red bred heifer. One of the best things about this heifer is her sire, Red Triple L Jagger 18C. A bull that caught a lot of attention. I have been very impressed with the Jagger daughters we’ve held back. They have excellent udders and lots of milk. This will be your last chance to get a Jagger heifer. She is exposed to Red Wilbar Element 220E, the 2018 high selling bull at Wilbars sale. She’s exposed from April 25 to September 30. Preg-checked safe late February.

Here is a powerful daughter out of a great young Kodiak female and the Emphasis bull. She stands on a great foot and sports a correct leg set with an excellent udder coming on her as well. Her dam raised a full sibling this year that had an actual weaning weight of 882lbs and is parked in the replacement pen. The maternal strength of this cow family is unmatched and should not be overlooked, it’s a trait we look for in every female at the farm. Exposed May 8th – July 31st to Brooking Trendspotter 9004. Observed May 11th preg checked to this mating.

This could be an understatement by saying Assassin has recaptured the attention of many a good cowboy this fall! He had the leadoff heifer calf at the mighty Red Roundup at $11,500. At the Tradition with a Vision sale 7 daughters averaged $8000 with a high of $12,000. The females have such good temperments and such easy fleshing ability with the first few daughters in production are just as expected. Beautiful uddered, fertile, attentive mothers that did a nice job. The first sons have sold very well including a $17,500 son from WRAZ and a $14,000 second high seller at Brylor. Check out how big, long and powerful this herdsire is in his picture as a 4 year old this summer! He has the potential to impact this breed for many, many years to come! BTW. 50 straws averaged $235 per straw at the TWAV. 39A - 10 straws 39B - 10 straws 39C - 10 straws 39D - 10 straws 39E - 10 straws
