Welcome to the second Fladeland Livestock and Twin View Livestock bull sale! It is our pleasure to have you sort through this catalog in the search for your next bull. Our two programs working together really makes sense. Our operations are very similar in many ways and our offerings compliment each other. We’re proud to offer you an elite set of Gelbvieh bulls! Both the Fladeland and Twin View programs pride ourselves on creating some of the most sought after Gelbvieh seed stock and we work hard to stay at the forefront of the cattle industry. Now, more than ever, we hope to see you at the farm. The opportunity to visit with you one on one while we tour the cattle is something we look forward to. This is absolutely the greatest way to do your bull shopping! We want to know about your operation, what you’re looking for in your new bull and we want to be sure you get exactly what you’re after! We’d be happy to show you the bull’s mother and the family behind him. It’d be an honour to have a cup of coffee with you. Then, on sale day, you can bid from the comfort of your home either online, over the phone or through one of our representatives. Please come see us! If you can’t make it before the sale, give us a call and we’ll see you sale day. The bulls will be at Johnstone’s Monday afternoon and you’re of course welcome to tour there as well. Like you, we are doing our best to keep everyone safe and we appreciate you working with us. The professional staff at Johnstone Auction and Darwin Rosso are available as well if you have any questions or you’d like another opinion. We will have a restriction approved lunch on sale day so join us for that if you’re in the area. We’ll talk to you soon! Yours in Gelbvieh, The Fladeland Livestock and Twin View Livestock Team
2 Welcome to our 2021 bull sale! I don’t think anyone would have ever guessed we’d find the world working its way through the B.S. we have been, but here we are. One of the best parts of the year for us has been the support of our loyal customers. We appreciate those of you who return year after year and also thank those of you who came to tour or expressed interest for the first time. There is more optimism and interest in the Gelbvieh breed now than ever before. Despite the challenges, we’ve had many things to be thankful for here at Twin View. Thanks to drought, our grass was hard and we had heavy weaning weights on our commercial calves and markets were decent. We hosted a very successful Function and Finesse 2.0 here at the farm. And although we missed our show family, the extra time at home without a show season meant some projects got tackled that might not have otherwise. One thing we pride ourselves on is thinking outside the box and constantly working to provide you with the best possible product in an ever-changing industry. We know the importance of promoting our program and the Gelbvieh breed so this year we focused more on virtual marketing. We took part in the Agribition Evolution Series and Champions of the World competition. We were extremely honoured to have Twin View Sugar 26F named Agribition Champion and Miss World. Also, KHR Grizzly Red 39F was selected as Agribition Champion and the Champion of the World bull! His sons will be available here next year! We’re very excited to be working with the Fladeland family once again. We value their approach to raising functional cattle and, most importantly, we value their friendship. This year, more than ever, we encourage you to come see us at the farm. We’re never far from home this time of year and we know touring the bulls here in the yard and seeing the cows is one of the most valuable trips you’ll make this year. With so many unknowns, make it easy on yourself and get your shopping list made early at your convenience. Once again, we’ve done everything we can to eliminate all the guesswork about your new bull. Each one is parent verified to their sire and dam and we’ve done DNA polled and colour testing. We continue to raise our cattle under the principles of Verified Beef Production Plus. Most importantly, we aren’t interested in jamming all the feed we can into these bulls. We keep them athletic, always moving and do our best to bring them to you in a user friendly body score. Treating bulls like feedlot steers is risky business we want no part of and we don’t believe you do either! If we wouldn’t use a bull on our own cows, you won’t find him in these pages. Thanks again for your interest and support! We hope to see you here at the farm anytime or at Johnstone’s on March 17. Give a call and let’s work together to get your next herd bull home!
Aaron & Joe

Mayweather came from The Boxer’s first calf crop and was part of our show string. He was calf champion at both Brandon and Agribition before selling to our great friends in Washington, Ledgerwood Gelbvieh. We were fortunate to use him here as a yearling before he won Agribition and became the ORB Reserve World Champion. He has proven to be a middle ground type of bull. Mayweather offers no extremes but he balances all the aspects of beef cattle we value most. Mayweather will have offspring across Canada and the US this spring but these sons are the first opportunity to own a direct son! They are impressive! The combination of 2 potent breeding pieces like The Boxer and Natalie was sure to be a one two punch. Mayweather for the win!

Twin View Face Value is just that! What you see is what you get in this heavy muscled, bold ribbed and attractive Mayweather son. He has been ranked high on Joe’s watch list all summer. Face Value is the final calf from the consistent Sacha 61U cow that has been a work horse here for many years, originally coming from the Unger Dispersal. Her other sons have sold to Roy Lucas, Lomond Grazing and Hawkeye Ranching. Face Value is the type of bull who’ll cover all the bases from heavy steer calves in the fall to awesome replacement females to build to your program.

Twin View Card Shark 91H is a March born Mayweather son we really love. The Mayweather calves have impressed us so much. They have ample calving ease, a real presence and look about them and we love their muscle shape. Card Shark’s mother is a model female, no matter the breed. She is also the mother of Crowfoot whose influence is just beginning in our program and another son is working for Triple G Gelbvieh as the foundation for their up and coming program. Card Shark is a hairy, sound structured, attractive herd bull in the making. He will be a female making machine and his daughters will do nothing but make you fist fulls of money just like a successful Card Shark.

Twin View Blue Collar is our only black son of Mayweather and he is as cool as he looks in his picture! He’s homo polled by parentage, moderate structured, good haired and has a perfect foot. Blue Collar has been Joe’s pet from a few days of age and all summer would come running for scratches. His mother came from the Towerview program and has calved 9 times within an 11 day window each January. Maternal brothers have worked for Derrick Zell and two at MacDougall Ranch in BC. With just an 80 pound birthweight and a 281 day gestation, he has the potential to work on heifers as well as in the cowherd. Blue Collar is not extreme in any single trait and will offer years of trouble free service.

The Boxer is a household name here at Twin View. He is the first bull we raised to win a National title. We’ve always said show results are great but they mean very little at the end of the day. Boxer’s real achievement came with his production. His sons have been so well accepted including the awesome Mayweather. His daughters, however, aren’t just good, they’re exceptional! One is now a World Champion, each one is a stellar mother cow and the udder quality is second to none. We visited Last Mountain Livestock, our partners on The Boxer, last summer and saw their Boxer daughters. Extremely impressive! We will continue using this valued breeding piece and his daughters will lead our program and this breed forward.

Twin View Tartan is a Boxer son who is so easy to appreciate. He’s dark coloured, soft made, sound in his movement and has a great foot. His mother comes from the Julie cow family who are on sacred ground around here. Maternal sisters are working for us, Last Mountain Livestock and a third was one of the feature bred heifers through the first Function and Finesse to Classic Cattle Co. Unfortunately we found scurs when we clipped him but don’t let that deter you from putting this valuable breeding piece to work in your pasture. Just like his sire, Tartan will make tremendous females and remain sound for years to come.

It almost seems unnecessary to write a footnote for a bull who excites us as much as Active Duty! He is homo polled, hairy, sound, attractive, perfect footed, has pedigree for days and is a maternal powerhouse. He truly defines our breeding program! His incredible dam has been named a Dam of Merit every year she’s been eligible and simply never misses. A maternal sister sold to Fir River Livestock, a brother topped last year’s sale to V&V Farms, and a most notable sister is Twin View Sugar 26F. She is becoming a household name in our breed and has been widely admired by astute producers in all breeds. Most recently, she was named ORB Miss World! Having a World Champion sister certainly makes big shoes to fill but Active Duty is up to the task! All the pieces of the puzzle are here in Active Duty and we will proudly be watching the success that is sure to follow him.

Twin View Kevlar 32H is an absolute powerhouse with all the bells and whistles you could ask for in your next herd sire. He is the natural son of the awesome Macy 37A whose influence is massive in this offering and in our program. That makes Kevlar a maternal brother to The Boxer! He patterns much the same in terms of his stretch, impressive structure and real herd bull presence. Another maternal brother sold to Bluff Island Stock Farms as one of our former high sellers and we have big plans and huge anticipation for maternal sisters here. Kevlar offers off the charts performance without tanking birth and calving values, he’s homo polled, supremely sound and good footed, and backed by a rockstar mother cow. Kevlar is the real deal!

Footnotes for Lot 7 and 8 Winning the triple crown is one of the greatest achievements in sport. Derby, Preakness and Belmont…the triple crown! Three flush mates we consider a great achievement! Preakness already needs no introduction. He was selected as People’s Choice Champion in 2020 and will be used heavily in our program and others. Derby and Belmont complete the trifecta. These are big time power bulls with huge performance capability and unlimited maternal potential. Their pedigrees are built around five donor dams in their immediate pedigree. We went back and forth all summer over which one we preferred and we still aren’t sure. They are impressive! Their sire was the high selling bull through our sale a number of years ago to the great people at V&V Farms and we were fortunate to keep some semen on him. The opportunity to access a direct son of our stunning Gracie so early in her production career is truly something special. She has been among the most noted Gelbvieh females in recent times. She boasts a stellar show record coupled with an already impressive production career. We have four daughters here including two flush mates to these bulls and the heifer calf who showed at her side when she became National Champion Female. If you’re in the market for a balanced herd bull, Derby and Belmont should be marked at the top of your shopping list. If born to their own dam we would expect about a 95lb birth weight.

Twin View Viking comes straight from our embryo program and what a phenomenal representation he is! He has so much eye appeal and character about him that he instantly commands your attention. Viking offers a unique pedigree backed by the elite donor, JSJ Baha, and sired by Chico Loco from the Danell program in Montana. Viking has a powerful flush mate sister we love a lot and a brother we rank as one of the best bulls we’ve laid on eyes on in recent times. You’ll be hearing more about him soon. Viking was our second entry in the Canadian People’s Choice Futurity and although he didn’t love the show experience, he has all the look and character of a champion. Viking is a bull with all the goods to make a big splash for his new owner and we’ll be watching closely cheering you on!

We work hard to think outside the box every day and Twin View Smoke Show represents some of that thinking. The youngest in our offering, he offers a completely outcross pedigree to Canadian Gelbvieh producers. His sire, from the Gustin program, is one of two Grand Slam progeny in the country and his mother is one of a kind north of the 49th. We bought her from our good friends, the Covingtons, in Colorado where she was a part of their show string. Smoke Show has an extremely impressive side profile with great extension through his front third. He moves out so soundly on a great foot and he’s homo polled to boot. If numbers are your game, Smoke Show offers an extremely balanced EPD profile and actual performance data to back it up. Here’s a bull Aaron will tell he’s had his eye on all summer and we’re sure you’ll appreciate him too!

He offers a really balanced EPD profile, above average weaning and yearling ratios and is backed by a beautiful mother cow. Walking through cows the other night, we commented how she may become a donor at some point. Black Powder females quietly go about their business, have perfect udders and feet and consistently produce. Cabin Fever and lot 13 are from the same cow family, sharing the 126A grandmother. We’ve maybe all been victim of a little cabin fever in the past year but finally here’s some Cabin Fever we can get behind!

We kept a bank of semen for ourselves largely because of his mother and are we ever glad we did! His calving ease numbers continue to climb along with his real world effectiveness. Crowfoot calves come easy, are extremely vigorous and intelligent, then take off growing. They are sound, hairy and combine calving ease, performance, and maternal capability. The heifer calf at side of our ORB World Champion female was sired by Crowfoot and we plan to flush her the same way this spring. You can expect to see much more from him in the years to come.

Twin View Crow Warrior is a bull we’ve had our eye on all year. He actually came into the show pen last fall as a calving ease candidate for the bull futurity. Crow Warrior ranks at the top of the breed for low birth weight, has a 14 calving ease number and hit the ground 8 days early at just 70 pounds. He is the ultimate in all traits for calving ease! He was mothered by a two year old Boxer daughter. The Boxer has created a group of females who will lead our breed forward. They are exemplary in every way from foot and udder quality to sheer cow power. We expect Crow Warrior to mature into a moderate framed bull with years of use in the heifer pen. Crow Warrior will work like a hot dam and leave an outstanding group of daughters to boot!

Twin View Crow Nation is an ideal candidate for the heifer pen. His two year old dam did a great job and has the most tidy, balanced and complete udder as you can find! You will be hearing a lot more about his sire, Crowfoot, in years to come. Sometimes you don’t realize the impact a bull will make until he’s gone and Crowfoot is a prime example. A Crowfoot daughter was on side of the ORB World Champion female last fall! Crow Nation’s body type, small skull shape, moderate birthweight and pedigree all point to easy calving. Genetically and phenotypically, the Crow Nation is strong!

REFERENCE Sire Yukon is a blast from the past who played an integral role in the McCoy program. Aaron always really appreciated the Yukon females from their program. We hadn’t used his influence until Aaron was visiting at Chad and Carrie’s and came home with a few straws. We were hoping for heifer calves but certainly aren’t disappointed with the quality of bulls like these. Yukon stamps his progeny with a similar look that combines extra stretch and extension with a slightly larger frame score. We mated him to some of our favourite cows making the genetic merit in lots 15 and 16 deep.

Twin View Klondike 2H is a unique package with an equally unique pedigree. Sired by none other than Rupple Yukon and backed by a powerhouse cow family with a valuable set of data make Klondike truly special. We have a maternal sister in production here, another sold to Long Lane Cattle through Function and Finesse and a maternal brother is working for North Vale Acres. Anytime you see the Rainbow family in our pedigrees, you can be sure of substantial maternal prowess. Klondike’s ability to sire elite females is off the charts! With just a 78 pound birthweight, a very short 271 day gestation (typical of his mother), and EPD’s to back it up, Klondike is a perfect candidate for the heifer pen without compromising performance. Who knew striking gold in the Klondike could be so easy?!

Twin View Dawson 59H is another Yukon son who’s long bodied, stretchy and sound. His mother is as consistent as they come! She became a Dam of Merit in her first year of eligibility and has stayed there ever since. Dawson’s maternal sister is knocking it out of the park at Koziak Land & Cattle, a maternal brother sold to Hawkeye Ranching and another sister is here at Twin View. Although he was born a twin to a heifer, there’s a ton of value in Dawson. A buzz word in our industry lately has been ROI, Return on Investment…get ready because Dawson is going to give a massive ROI.

Twin View Usher is a truly impressive beast who needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. We rank him as the most powerful and commanding Drake son we’ve had to date. Usher’s muscle and rib shape, his length of body and overall mass combined with his small, calving oriented head and front end design are a potent combination of power and calving ease. Usher is truly so versatile and, quite honestly, we admire him more everyday! Drake bred so well for us and now works at MacDonell Farms. Usher’s powerful two year old mother has proven herself already as a workhorse mother cow. She bred right back and calved in the first cycle again this winter. Moderate birth values and big performance in a maternal package. You really can have it all!

Year after year, we use a straw or two of Gold Star Polled 5D hoping for a heifer calf. Year after year, we get a bull calf. Our luck is your gain! Twin View Braggin Rights 31H is one cool cat who combines sleep easy calving ease with impressive growth. His calving and birth weight EPD’s combined with his 77 pound actual birthweight and 278 day gestation make him a candidate for the heifer pen. His two year old mother weaned him off with a 776 pound 205 day weight, bred back on her first cycle and is going at it again. She is a larger framed female from our ET program with a great udder. Named just right, Braggin Rights are exactly what you’ll have when you breed your heifers to a powerhouse bull and get easy coming calves that pound the scales down by fall.

From all of us at Fladeland Livestock, we would like to welcome you to our 2021 bull sale. Once again, our sale bulls are all long yearling bulls. These bulls are more mature, they will breed more cows and are able to cover more ground. The bulls are developed strictly for the two year old market, focusing on longevity and soundness. They are turned out on grass early in the spring and moved home in late fall. We are very pleased with this years offering. They are a very strong and functional set of bulls that are backed by productive cow families. You are more than welcome to come to our yard to have a look at the bulls before the sale. Please call ahead to make arrangements. If you have any questions about the bulls or are unable to make it to the sale call Del at 1-306-869-8123. If you choose to bid online from home the sale will be on LiveAuctions.tv Find us on Facebook or visit our website at www.fladelandlivestock.com and check out the videos of the bulls. Thank you for your past, present and future support!

He is the most similar in type to his sire Fladeland Element 21E. Gravity is stout made, deep sided, and well balanced with a mellow disposition. This unique pedigree goes back to a bull we purchased from Beastrom Ranch(BEAS Ben Cartwright) who produced bulls for us with muscle mass and performance.

FLAD 121G is moderate framed, complete and well balanced. He has the popular dark red color, has style and an impressive set of testicles. His dam, FLAD 129B, is very strong maternally. She is sired by SLC Bear 176Y, who left us with an awesome set of daughters who are very functional, productive and have exceptional udders. We thought highly enough of Fladeland Governor 121G, that we used him in the 2020 breeding season.

This guy is definitely one of our favorites. He has lots of bone, tons of body mass with good structure and is very quiet. He is stacked very strong maternally with different bloodlines including the proven donor, CG Opal 652S, and going back to the female maker VG Mister 68N. FLAD 156G is very versatile he could be used as a terminal sire or sire who would raise wicked females.
