design philosophy
Towards each design project I believe economy, environment, culture, function and aethetics are main factors which drive design process. I believe design should be economically sustainable, environmentaly sensitive, socialy and culturally inclusive, aesthetically pleasent and of course, functional and effective. In order to achieve it, I always consider circulation (vehicular and pedestrian), climate, topography, existing fabrique, ecology, sensory and cultural predesposition of a place. I rely on academic research and works of the scholars, as well asthe projects of different architects and firms. I have a strong interest in environmental and ecological design, I like to work in different scales and jump in between different disciplines, such as landscape architecture, urban design and architecture

Graduation Project, FORM STUDIO 2017. Famagusta is a city at the Northern Cypress Republic. It is the most challenging project which I had to deal with. Famagusta's history dates back to ancient times. It is a place of Turkish-Greek conflict, which still affects politics of a city. Due to the conflict, now southern Famagusta Coast (Varosha) is territory of United Nations and is abandoned since 1974. However, not only this part is closed upper north coast is closed for the military purposes. In terms of bio-diversity the city lakes and wetlands are the habitats for a lot of flora and fauna, there is especially a lake which inhabitated by pink flamingo's. In addition today the city hosts for refugees form Syria.Due to this complexities of the city there are a lot of challenges it possess in terms of transportation, cultural diversity and accomodation, tourism and ecology.

City Borders City Development Towards North West

Due to many closed zones for public, city is developing towards northern-west direction.
Although city possess potential for active pedestrian movement, existing zoning makes it hard to achieve. City is very disconnected.

CONTEXT STUDIO 2017, gallipoli Gallipolli is a peninsula on a west of the Turkey. During WWI it was a very important strategic point as it was protecting the capital - Istanbul. The place still has traces of the war. There are more than 200 of cemeteries and different memorials. Soldiers from different countries are buried in this place. It has a special meaning in the hearts not only turks but also of the whole world. My main design aim was not to dictate new design but rather a set of strategies which would not distrub an existing spirituality and atmosphere. My main theme was a spirits of place, and all strategies were rather small touches which will respect the site.

landscape identity analysis
Atmosphere of silence and presence of the war, along with magnificent nature, agriculture and three sea’s around form a unique and special environment or spirit. However, some aspect of it hidden and unrevealed, therefore my design intend was to show existing spirituality of places.

gallipoli city Gallipolli city is one of the three big cities in the peninsula. My site was east side of the city, Existing rock formations and the stones around the coastline are the most beatiful and stiking things of the site. My aim was to enhance the experience, make it more accessible, popular and iconic. I designed small pavillions along the sites and proposed urban furniture, such as lightning and sitting benches.

Graduation Project, FORM STUDIO 2017. Akkopru region in Ankara is an old industrial zone, which is now is under ecological endanger due to the industrial waste onto the Ankara river. Design aim was to create a public realm for all user types and at same time solve ecological problems that industry created there. My design proposes use of biological filters, water cleaning systems and connection of existing green areas (buffer zones), riparian zones around a river, buidling units and functions which will provide new job opportunities, new activitities in overall vivid public realm.

Design aim is created a platform that would stand under the water. Floating material is a foam, that is framed by light steel trusses. Main structural element is galvanized steel, which forms rigid box structure. Platform is fixed by cables and 4 concrete blocks, that enables adjusting height and change location of the platform.
