Safeguarding Adults visiting or working on the Academy site play an important part in the life of the St Aidan’s community, whether helping to maintain the building, or visiting the staff and students. Whether you are a contractor, sub-contractor, or visitor, we all have a part to play in keeping students safe. We must also take appropriate steps to keep ourselves safe. St Aidan’s regards the promotion of Health & Safety to be of the utmost importance for all personnel that attend as students or staff or visit the Academy. We would ask that you comply with safety procedures, whether written or brought to your attention by other means, for your own protection, protection of those under your supervision, and others who may be affected by your actions. We want to promote safe practices for everyone on site and therefore respectfully ask that you read and follow our guidelines below:

Concerns 1.

If you see or hear any incident of harm, behaviour or conduct relating to any of our pupils that you report it immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Leads who are Mrs Gemma Hogg and Ms Joanna Jackson.

2.

If you see or hear any incident of harm or conduct relating to any of our staff that you report it immediately to the Headteacher who is Mr Kevin Shepherd or the Designated Safeguarding Leads as above.

3.

If you see or are concerned of any issues of a health and safety nature for example broken equipment or a dangerous area to children that you report it immediately to the school reception.

Conduct 4.

Whilst you are in the building if you are not directly working with pupils you should not verbally or physically interact with the pupils.

5.

Whilst you are in the building, if you are supervised by another member of staff (DBS dependent), you should not move around the building without being escorted by that member of staff.

6.

Whilst you are in the building your mobile phone should be switched off and not used on the premises (if circumstances are otherwise please declare this at the main reception). Under no circumstances should your mobile phone or any other equipment be used to take photographs or videos of the pupils.

7.

Whilst you are in the building you should maintain professional conduct at all times with staff and students.

Health and Safety 8.

In case of a fire alarm, please leave the building at the nearest fire exit assembling on the yard as signposted at Main School, and on the front yard at the Briery. Visitors should make themselves known to the Duty Fire Marshall.

9.

Whilst you are in the building you must comply with all health and safety procedures.

10. Whilst in the building if an incident or accident occurs whilst on site either to yourself or another please report it immediately to the reception or inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead/Headteacher. If you require medical attention whilst on your visit, First Aid is located in the main reception. 11. When you enter or exit the building you must sign in and out using the visitor’s signing in app. 12. Whilst you are on the premises you must wear your visitors badge at all times and it ensure it is clearly visible to staff and pupils. 13. Contractors should refer to Statutory Registers which are maintained at Reception, Willowbank Road Site. Please note, signatures are required by those carrying out the work on Site.
