Section III. Summary Information A. Please summarize activities for the quarter. Include any special events, staff changes, and new program approaches. Limit your response to one page. DO NOT append copies of flyers, etc. January thru March activities

 Community Meeting: This meeting was held at the Morning Star Church were members of the Hill Community came together to demand a “social contract” between the city of New Haven and Yale University. Members of 21 Futures attended to support the contract and demand scholarships to be set aside by Yale.  Youth Development Training at 4H:Members of 21 Futures were invited to attend a weekend training session of “Youth Development” hosted by 4H.  Youth Parties: 21 Futures was host to several community parties where New Haven youths were charged an admission fee as part of 21 Futures on-going fundraising.  Community Activism: A community activist held a workshops with the members of 21 Futures, where they discussed different community issues and how members of 21 Futures can effect change.  An Evening At the Shubert: Tickets were given to 21 Futures members to attend the showing of the “Music Man” preformed at the Shubert Theater in New Haven  NFTE (National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship): 21 Futures members who completed the first portion of the curriculum were entered into a statewide business plan competition


B. Is the project on schedule? Is the project fully staffed? Please explain. I have come on board H.C.Y.S as a full time coordinator. We have several projects that we are working on for the summer and so far, they are moving along in a timely manner.

C. Are there any new program approaches or intervention strategies being considered or implemented? If so, please explain. Membership is beginning to pick up. We have begun a citywide campaign to recruit city youth into the 21 Futures program. We have created fliers, newsletters and a brochure that has been attracting youth from the high schools to attend the program.
