The Do’s and Don’ts of Working with Children at H.C.Y.S
We DO: Respect and encourage our children in everything they do. Applauding all of their accomplishments, no matter how minor they seem to you, it is Major to them. We DO NOT: Disrespect or allow others to disrespect our children. We do not allow our children to disrespect themselves or each other.
We DO: Allow our Children to explore their individual creativity. Be it through art, dance, music, etc. We DO NOT: Limit our children in the way they show their creativity. Nothing is wrong when it comes to our children expressing their creativity.
We DO: Promote positive images to our children of both men and women. We DO NOT: Promote negative images or re-enforce stereotypes regarding race, sex or religion.
We DO: Encourage parent participation. We allow our parents to remain fully aware of up coming events and trips by keeping in constant contact. We DO NOT: Tell parents about events and trips the NIGHT before the event or trip.

We DO: Give parents positive reports about their children first before informing them of a negative report. Children should have something positive said about them to their parents. We DO NOT: Call parents with constant negative reports.

We DO: Wear clothing that allow us to work with our children, while still retaining the profession standard of H.C.Y.S We DO NOT: Wear cloths or jewelry that promote drugs, alcohol, sex or violence while working with our children.
