The Apeos Port IV colour and the DocuCentre IV black-and-white printers are Fuji Xerox’s latest MFPs, or multi-function printers, that come with a power-saving feature which uses a light-emitting diode (LED) technology. The digitally enhanced lighting control imaging system (DELCIS) technology makes it possible for manufacturers to build smaller devices while reducing power consumption by 45%. The LED technology is also used for image scanning. It can scan up to 1.5 times more than the xenon lamps used in conventional devices, while reducing power consumption by up to 70%. Security features include the use of identification cards on output devices and different levels of user permission settings which can be customised. The document-management feature helps reduce the need to deploy multiple servers by using Fuji Xerox’s DocuShare enterprise-management solution. File servers from various departments and locations can be combined into one repository, which leads to a more efficient workflow and enhances information sharing. The printers are priced between RM25,000 and RM50,000, depending on the hardware and software configurations. The new multi-function printers are available at authorised dealers.
