People need more and more space, so nature must yield to a new city. Little Mole, Rabbit and Hedgehog are moved from their tree stump home in the forest to a new flat in an apartment block. They have everything that civilization can offer, even an inflatable forest! But they don‘t think much of human civilization, so they start searching for real nature again.
During some floods, Mole rescues a bird’s nest that’s afloat and in it he finds a tiny young eagle. The bird is hungry and has no parents. Mole takes care of him, feeds him and even teaches him to fly. The eagle doesn’t forget Mole and finds plenty of opportunities to show gratitude to his small babysitter.
Little Mole meets a new friend - Snowman. Unfortunately, winter is ending and poor Snowman finds himself in deep trouble. How can Little Mole help? He takes his white friend up to the mountain to keep nice and frosty during the warm days.
This time Little Mole has a very important role - he has to be a midwife. The rabbit family is expecting a new addition, and with the little help of Mole, it all ends well!

What happen, when the naughty Dragon lets dry a stream? And when the king wears a pot instead of a crown? Two stories beautifully illustrated by Zdeněk Miler.
The story of a boy, Kuba Kubikula, and his bear cub Kubula, is set in “the times when the world was still young and people readily believed in fairy tales”. Kuba and his cantankerous bear wander through the winter countryside, earning their bread by performing tricks and doing odd jobs. Without an exaggeration it could be compared to such marvels as Winnie the Pooh or The Little Prince.

Czech animator and illustrator; he is best known for his Mole character and its adventures. He worked in animated film for over 60 years and his films have won numerous awards at festivals around the world. The idea for Mole’s creation came when Miler was commissioned to make an educational film for children in 1956. He was not happy with the script he was given. Strongly influenced as he was by the films of Walt Disney, he looked for an animal as the main character. Later, he said that the idea to use the mole as his main character came to him when he stumbled over a mole-hill whilst on a walk.
The first film titled “How the Mole got his Trousers” won a Silver Lion in Venice.

Zdeněk Miler (1921 - 2011)
In the beginning, the mole spoke. However, Miler wanted his mole to be understood everywhere in the world so he decided to use his daughters as voice actors, reducing the speech to short non-verbal exclamations in order to express the mole‘s feelings and world perception. His daughters were also his test audience, who got to see the films first. Thus Miler could see whether his message resonated with children. Mole was a huge success in Czechoslovakia, Eastern Europe and Germany from the beginning and today the mole can be seen in over 80 countries.
