The Czech Television is actually filming a new documentary about Jana Boušková. Let's take a look at the backstage... The documentary will be a new part of the successful TV series about the great Czech classical musicians. The filming will continue during autumn, when Jana Boušková will be recording Harp Concerto by Lukáš Sommer with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra.

On Saturday, 20. 6. was closed a little Czech "Harp Congress" that under your auspices hosted the 20th edition of the International Music Festival Concentus. What are your impressions of this event?

First, I'd like to expressed my great gratitude to the International music festival Concentus, without which the Harp days ever taken place. I appreciate the fact that it was the harp was given so much space in an important anniversary of this festival and I must admit that the result of the project was, in my opinion, and also according to the response, really extraordinary. Already a space where the festival Harp Days took place, prepared not only performers, but also to all visitors, very beautiful atmosphere. Letters from listeners and performers that I've received over Harp Festival, just spoke about the real experience that the closer acquaintance with Harp people in the Czech Republic would bring. I am very happy.

Given the harp still lacks a wider audience and in our country still little known in its true essence, solo instrument, I believe that events such as the Harp days a harp space to increase visibility, and therefore help to get acquainted with our tool in its very wide spectrum of possibilities. And not only in our country but also abroad. The festival could be heard not only classical harp - on Thursday in the opening half of the concert program, jointly shared with me an English harpist Ieuan Jones - but on Friday was introduced to jazz harp must be in the hands of the Park Stickneyho and historical harp with several rows of strings performed

by Marie Cleary and her Arparla Dua. That during the days of the festival organized master classes all these mentioned performers, playing various kinds of harps, students not only had the opportunity to expand their talent much more experience and knowledge. I personally would be very happy if such an event, on a professional level with us organized regularly every year. Not only are the days that give to beautiful meetings, but that such actions can only contribute to the knowledge of the harp performances and performers on the instrument, if the audience is our tool more often presented in the highest quality on a global scale.

The prestigious event is certainly the inclusion of world premieres of works by three harps that you passed the front of the Belgian composer and director of the Royal Academy in Brussels, Mr Peter Swinnen ...

Events including concerts, master classes, workshops and presentations manufacturers is unique not only in the domestic but certainly at least in the broader European context. How do you perceive the importance and benefits of such actions for Harp industry?

It's really a tremendous honor for me that a major Belgian composer, dean of the Royal Conservatory in Brussels where for ten years teaching, prof. Peter Swinnen, wrote a song for me ARAPANJA for three harps (the name refers to the name of John and arpa) that the festival Harp Days indicated in the premiere of three of my female students of this college - Amelia Tokarska (Poland), Lisa De Bruycker (Belgium) and Alexandra Morand (France). The staging of this song was not easy. The work is rhythmically very demanding and even though the outcome of the interplay seemed quite naturally and easily prepare students to devote significant time commitment with a huge importance and responsibility. Even my colleague from the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, Prof. Bart Bouckaert, who specializes in contemporary and chamber music, devoted to the staging of this work all my free time and with genuine enthusiasm, what I had the greatest respect for him and I am so thankful. Result of the premiere was very successful. Composer, who was personally present at the premiere, showed enormous enthusiasm and satisfaction and audience gave the song with great concentration, interest and endless applause. It was for all of us, especially for my female students from Brussels, a great experience and I was extremely proud of them.

You yourself are presented at the gala opening concert of the duo, along with leading British harpist Ieuan Jones. What made you choose this artist and what impressions of you left this cooperation?

Ieuan Jones is one of the most sought after harpist of his generation, and I was very happy that I was able to participate in his term Harp days to get this year. My first encounter with Ieuan Jones was held in Vienna in 1987, when I was 16 years old and I was then a student committee selected the harp world, represented Czechoslovakia at the World Harp Congress in Vienna. At that time he had during this week an important meeting and gave a recital harpist Ieuan Jones - was already known star harp world, which as a student I looked up with great reverence. Nor in the spirit of me I had thought that in the future we will be so close friends and colleagues and me Ieuan Jones will invite repeated joint appearances not only in England, but this time I'll ask him to the Czech Republic. I believe that it was not the last time! Certainly was an experience for the audience to see and hear the man play the harp, which in our country is very unusual.

With what interest among the participants and visitors of the event was? And as the owner of the castle was adopted in Zdar, the noble family of Kinský?

Harp days are indeed met with an extremely positive response to touching not only on the part of the performers, but also by the audience. Perhaps the only negative side - if it can say - was this year's weather, yet even in these late days of June resembled a rather cold autumn. It is a little complicate the original plan of Saturday's final afternoon open-air concert and so to the last minute we moved to this action vnitřcích the chateau. Finally, we concluded that this alternative option was actually better than the original outdoor version. The owners of the chateau, the family Kinský was our event and thrilled us over peace based on providing all toward the chateau. Even such words sounded even that organizing such big events connected with the harp, the wishes of Ms. Kinski more than twenty years. And that made me very happy.

Do you have ambitions for Harp days continue in the future, and perhaps even develop further?

I certainly would like to. People were excited and expressed wishes to further continue such meetings were numerous harp. I will therefore try to make sure I gave the audience an opportunity to harp in various forms and at the highest international level now been with us meet on a regular basis .

Huge interest of the audience, endless applause, touching letters with audience reactions, sold out concerts and atmosphere not only in the environment of the castle, but mainly in artistic, organizational, friendly and personal level . It was a wonderful three days and I all those who were with us and who helped this unforgettably beautiful atmosphere to create, thank you very much!
