Who am I? My name is Janak and I was born in Hyderabad. I have always been fascinated about people’s ever growing potential of integrating nature through an urban construct. I believe it is crucial for us as people to consider ourselves as a part of nature for a sustainable and better future. Through my studies I have shaped myself to work on my vision of integrating nature through an urban construct by focusing on resilience, sustainability, topography, and ecology. I consider myself as a team player, because I have always tried to analyze a situation through prominent perspectives. I believe this allows me to comprehend the situation better, leading towards reliable solutions. Throughout my landscape architecture and architecture life I am determined to work hard, learn new things, gain new experiences, and excel while embracing my vision.

Gowda’s Residence in Udupi A project focusing on creating an exquisite residence for a family of four located in Udupi, a city in southern India. The family has sentimental and emotional ties to the house, as the property has been passed through generations of this family creating a sacred bond between the residents and the residence. Even though major renovations were the plan, several important areas and features were left untouched to create a nostalgic dimension to the house. The facade utilises patterns of sandstone cladding along with textured and smooth concrete contrasting off of each other. The interior is embellished with modern furniture and sinous materials integrating with the untouched materials.

The Floating Forest at Arapahoe Square An urban design project located in Arapahoe Square along the 5280 trail of Denver, CO. The square feels fractured with the presence of extensive roads and deprived pedestrian infrastructure, which lead to the design of a bridge that creates a safe corridor for the pedestrians over the tenacious traffic while being engulfed by nature. The concept behind this pedestrian bridge envisions an area to experience wilderness across sinuous ecosystems within an urban expanse, embracing the name "Floating Forest". The pedestrian pathways utilise wood paving while the biking lane in the middle is paved with “Pavegen” electricity generating tiles. The design also incorporates cantilevered decks provisioned with numerous seating and viewing opportunities on either sides of the biking lane.

Serenity Gardens in Henderson A campus design project at the Kinney Property located in Henderson near Denver, CO. The site endures distinctive surrounding disturbances like industrial, residential, and traffic. The design’s sole purpose is to reiterate the present landscape into a serene sanctuary which embraces people through sinuous educational experiences like greenhouse, research gardens, natural habitats, and outdoor studios. Such experiences are connected through two types of circulatory patterns, one encourages people to explore the entire site while being mesmerised by nature and the other prominently situated to circulate vehicles and pedestrians through the main structures of the site. The above disturbances are avoided across the site through vegetative barriers like hedges and large trees, while creating a sense of reliability and safety. Parti Diagram

Therapeutic Gardens in Fort Collins A garden design project at the Colorado State University Medical Centre located in Fort Collins, CO. Even though the existing design is functional, it does not embrace vegetation and concepts like biodiversity and climate positive design. Whereas, The proposed design focuses on creating a sanctuary for rejuvenating patients, doctors, and visitors through the incorporation of thick vegetative borders, viewing decks, inclusive gardens, recreational field and a thyme lawn. Contrasting the lush landscape, pathways are paved with shifting sandstone patterns allowing people to access every program along a single axis. The design also alters the topography of the site to integrate with the surrounding vegetation promoting a barrier around the site creating a safe environment. Paving Plan

Revitalizing Pearls at the Handri Handri, a chemicallly contaminated and degrading river flowing through the city of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. The river is considered as a health hazard due to the presence of vast floating masses of surface pollutants and unfathomable levels of dissolved pollutants. Through the design, the river can be restored with the help of Bio-remediation. A series of islands placed like a pearl necklace harnessing bio-remediation flourishes with vegetation that thrives on plastics, chemicals, and other toxins. Technologies like Tactical Recovery System Hellas by New Naval, capable of barricading and elevating surface contaminants to the ground level for proper disposal. The design also incorporates a series of wetlands to prevent soil erosion and to promote vegetation nutrition and flood mitigation. A circulatory corridor in the form of a bridge that promotes circulation through the river by encouraging relationships between the segregated communities.
