We want to explore the desire for collectivity and interaction - which almost every human being has - and project that fundamental part of life on some kind of architectural idea.
In this project which is documented in a 120 page book, we want to dive into the varieties of urban development, by letting us guide through experimenting with a well known approach - the grid. Decoupled from formalism we want to explore structuralism’s facets. Inspiring for us is the idea of an uncomitted, generic structure - the idea of an transperent and open grid. With a structuralistic mindset we approach the given site, and try to find answers to the various social and organisational questions, that are arising. This is done mainly in a therotical way, through various texts and illustrations. In this process we do not commit to a certain architectural form, but try to search the discourse. Theoretical subject to architectural object - best describes our approach.
