Don Supplee
indian market 2024
Renowned Hopi artist Don Supplee is set to exhibit his stunning jewelry collection at a special event on Thursday and Friday, August 15th & 16th, 2024, from 5-7pm. The show will run until August 24th and will take place at the prestigious Palace Jewelers at Manitou Galleries.
Born in 1965 in Ganado, Arizona, and a proud member of the Bear clan, Don Supplee has always been deeply rooted in his Hopi heritage. Having grown up near the Hopi Reservation in Flagstaff, he was inspired by his surroundings and his family's encouragement to pursue his passions. Initially carving out a successful career as a chef, Don's creative path took a significant turn when he began observing the jewelry-making techniques of his older brother, Charles, an acclaimed silversmith.
Over time, Don developed his unique style, incorporating metal fabrication, inlaying, stone casting, and the lost wax process. His work features intricate three-dimensional carvings and a beautiful blend of traditional turquoise, coral, and diamonds set in 14K gold. Don's pieces are not only a testament to his incredible skill but also a reflection of his love for nature and appreciation for Hopi traditions, which emphasize symbolism, symmetry, harmony, and tradition.
This exclusive event will offer attendees a unique opportunity to meet Don Supplee and hear him discuss his latest creations. Visitors will marvel at his exquisite silver and gold jewelry, enhanced with diamonds, precious stones, and traditional turquoise.
