WHEN TO APPLY

Applications for the Fine Arts program are open from November to December each year for the next school year. Once students apply, they will be invited to an audition during February. Students who are accepted to the program will receive a letter in March and be asked to respond to the invitation to attend Central by the end of April.

Dance at Central focuses on studying the technique, history, and composition of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern Dance. Students participate in 5 performances each year, showcasing their learning in class.
ORCHESTRA Orchestras offers performance experiences that exceed standard music class expectations. The curriculum covers musician health and body mapping, performance endurance, music theory, and basic techniques for string instrumentalist.
THEATRE This course focuses on building the capacity of our students with classes such as, Theatre Fundamentals, Musical Theatre, IB Theatre, and Technical Theatre. The program also has two major productions each year, a play production and musical production.
CHORUS OUR PROGRAM Students take four years of their chosen fine art, with the option of taking IB as well as other Fine Arts classes. Each Fine Art class has performances, galleries, classes, and after school activities specific to their discipline.

Chorus teaches students to sing a varied repertoire of music through performance skills and tasks. Chorus also works on team building, ensemble cohesion, ear training, theory, and music analysis for a well rounded musical experience.
BAND This program provides opportunities for advanced-level performers to develop and refine skills on a wind or percussion instrument, highlighting performance and production, analysis and theoretical studies, historical and cultural contributions.
VISUAL ARTS The art program will target advanced students and present them with scaffolded challenges to push them to their next level. Student will be exposed to portfolio Building and enrichment activities/events.
