ith a dramatic display of new Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) air assets as drawcards, alongside the latest technologies and capabilities in special operations and homeland security, the 12th edition of SOFEX impresses mightily. Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, SOFEX 2018 has once more brought together many leading international defence and security manufacturers. “SOFEX represents a global forum for dialogue, linking countries from around the world for international peace and security,” said Amer Tabbah, managing director of SOFEX. He noted that 350 companies from 35 countries are participating in the exhibition, with more than 400 oﬃcial delegates representing 53 nations attending the event. A full-day conference was

successfully held in Amman, discussing the topical issue of ‘Hybrid Warfare in the Grey Zone – the Ever-changing Operational Environment’. The Middle East Special Operations Commanders conference was addressed by top-level local and international military speakers, all sharing their insights in dealing with evolving threats to regional and global peace. SOFEX has been under the direct supervision of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al-Hussein since 1996, and is fully supported by the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies. Although the opening ceremony, involving a stunning tactical demonstration by Jordan’s Special Operations Forces, took place in overcast and windy conditions, it still awed the assembled guests. Equally impressive are the static displays featuring military and security vehicles, as well

as the latest RJAF aircraft acquisitions. These include the world’s largest helicopter, the Mil Mi-26T2, which dwarfs other aircraft parked alongside. The six exhibition halls are brimming with innovations in defence technology and national security. The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, KADDB Investment Group and its aﬃliates are lead participants in a dedicated hall to showcase their latest locally produced technologies and designs. Of special importance are the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies, which feature their capabilities and training. As Tabbah concludes: “We are proud that we as Jordanians come together to host an internationally acclaimed exhibition and conference that positions the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the map of global defence exhibitions.”

eing displayed in public for the first time is one of the Royal Jordanian Air Force’s PZL Mielec/Sikorsky M28 Skytruck utility transports. The service has two of these Polish-built aircraft, which serve with No. 3 Squadron at Amman-Marka alongside the RJAF’s C-130 Hercules fleet. The M28s are smaller, more flexible and cheaper to operate than the C-130s, and have proved a valuable asset for smaller taskings, downloading some of the transport burden from the C-130 fleet as a result. In RJAF service, the M28 is

used for missions including search and rescue, air-dropping of loads and troops, and transport. The aircraft’s shortand rough-ﬁeld performance gives it a ‘go-anywhere’ capability, while its rear clamshell hold doors and internal cargohandling equipment allow it to load and unload personnel and cargo rapidly. It is particularly applicable for supporting troops operating in harsh and remote terrain, such as might be encountered in Jordan’s border regions. It is used to support special forces, and in particular Jordan’s Quick Reaction Force. To tailor the aircraft for such missions, a modiﬁcation package

has been applied, with the aircraft on static display the first to be completed. Modification of the second aircraft is due for completion later this year. Following the modification work, the aircraft are in a similar configuration to the C-145 version that has been widely operated by US Special Operations Command in Afghanistan. To prepare the aircraft for its utility role, a ruggedised utility flooring system is installed to handle the heavy weights and rough treatment that are encountered during tactical operations. The floor can be configured to mount standard passenger seats, while the

side of the cabin can mount paratroop-style seats. To upload and move cargo quickly, a roofmounted 700kg (1,545 lb) winch/ crane is fitted, running on rails and moved fore and aft with a hand crank. Three additional cargo holds are housed in an underbelly pannier. Two Harris SY-117 radios and an Iridium satellite phone are fitted, the latter providing communications in remote areas. Raytheon’s ARC-231 Skyfire communications system is installed, along with APX-119 identification friend or foe. A power unit provides charging points for various equipment, including soldier-worn systems.

Arena-E awaits first contract

he Russian KBM Joint Stock Company (Hall 4, Stand A401) claims to have completed development of the latest-generation Arena-E hard kill active defence system (ADS). This has been designed for installation on main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, to enhance their survivability against incoming threats such as ground- and air-launched anti-tank guided missiles, as well as the more widely deployed unguided antitank weapons fitted with a highexplosive anti-tank warhead. The original Arena ADS featured a large pole-type sensor pod mounted on the tank’s roof, with the explosive countermeasures arranged

around the turret. The Arena-E ADS has a new design with radar sensors and countermeasures integrated around the turret. The system is fully automatic and has a high kill probability against incoming threats. The multifunction modular radar detects and tracks incoming threats, and if confirmed as hostile, launches countermeasures to neutralise a threat before it comes into contact with the platform. According to KBM, installation of the Arena-E onto a platform enhances its survivability by a factor of two during conventional operations and by a factor of between three and five during local conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

Light Attack Experiment enters next phase

n Monday the US Air Force began the second phase of its Light Attack Experiment (OA-X) to gather data ahead of a potential buy of aircraft that could perform close air and special operations support in permissive air defence environments. The first phase was undertaken at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, last August. The research company, which has its origins in Syracuse University, has just been awarded a $57.5 million contract by the US Air Force to provide systems that detect, identify and defeat enemy drones. The contract is the latest in a series of investments in the SRC counter-drone technology by the Army, Navy and Air Force over the past two years. Together,

The new contract with the Air Force is for EW, radar systems and day/night cameras that will help meet an urgent requirement to detect and defeat drones. Deployed on the battlefield, the C-UAS system uses air surveillance radar, EW and direction-finding technologies to detect low, slow and small airborne targets. Combining radar signature data and electronic surveillance information with EO/IR, the operator can confidently decide on any action to be taken. Once a UAS has been identified as hostile, a variety of low-cost, low-risk measures can be employed, whether the incoming threat is a single UAS or a swarm. “Providing this critical technology that will defend against evolving threats like small drones is what we’re all about: helping to keep America and its allies safe and strong,” said Paul Tremont, president and chief executive of SRC.

A key feature of the OA-X programme is to explore the aircraft’s potential interoperability with assets from partner nations. According to the Air Force Posture Statement for 2018: “Retaining irregular warfare as a core competency at a lower cost, and strengthening our alliances are key elements of our National Defense Strategy.”

Turkish aviation expertise

urkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is rapidly expanding its capabilities along a number of avenues. Here at SOFEX some of its principal areas of expertise are being presented (Hall 1, Stand A108), including Turkey’s TF National Fighter project, which is being pursued to equip the Turkish air force by replacing the F-16 from the 2030s. For now, one of TAI’s most important projects is the Anka medium-altitude, longendurance (MALE) UAV.

The prototype first flew on 30 December 2010, and now production of the Anka-S version is underway for the Turkish armed forces. This has an enlarged forward fuselage to house a satellite communications antenna. The UAV has been successfully weaponised with Roketsan’s MAM-L precision glide munition. Last July the Turkish

ministry of defence announced that the Anka (a development air vehicle) had undertaken its first armed strike with a MAM-L attack on the PKK. Meanwhile, TAI has developed a version of the Anka equipped with an extensive

used operationally in support of Turkish operations in the north of Syria. Another TAI product that has seen action in Syria is the T129 Atak attack helicopter, itself an outgrowth of the Italian AW129 Mangusta. TAI is now working on an Atak 2, which will incorporate various systems – including transmission, rotors and undercarriage – that have been developed indigenously for the T625 multirole transport helicopter that is due to make its first flight later this year. Training is another area in which TAI has been busy, having produced the Hurkus turboprop-powered trainer and the Hurkus-C armed derivative.

ulgarian company Apolo Engineering (Hall 1, Stand B123) is presenting its 60mm Commando smoothbore mortar, which can be rapidly disassembled into four components: bipod, circular baseplate, smoothbore barrel and the sighting system. Elevation is from +45° to +85° with manual traverse of 3° left and right, but it can be rapidly traversed through a full 360° by moving the bipod. The minimum range is being quoted as 100m and the maximum range is 3,250m. Apolo can supply a 60mm high-explosive mortar bomb with a TNT filling and a 60mm smoke mortar bomb containing white phosphorous. The company originally manufactured 82mm mortars and their associated 82mm mortar bombs, because this was the standard calibre used in Eastern Europe. The 82mm

he global shortfall in cyber security skills has prompted Jordan’s King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) (Hall 5, Stand A511) to establish a training academy in partnership with UK specialist PGI. The KADDB Cyber Security Academy (KCSA), hosted by the Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), will offer courses to cover a range of cyber security policy and technical skills. This is intended to design and implement security regimes, strengthen and test cyber defences, and respond and

has a barrel length of 1.455m and is claimed to have a maximum range of 6,270m, depending on the type of mortar bomb/ propellant used. At least two

types of 81mm mortar bomb are manufactured – the high explosive round, which contains TNT and is stated to have a maximum range of 4,335m, and a smoke mortar bomb containing white phosphorus, which is stated to have a maximum range of 5,070m. Apolo Engineering is also marketing a 120mm smoothbore mortar, which has a maximum range of 7,100m, with at least two types of 120mm mortar bomb being available: high explosive, and smoke white phosphorus. Apolo Engineering can also supply the RPG-7V rocket propelled grenade launcher and a complete family of unguided rockets. In addition to the traditional high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) and high-explosive rockets, the company’s offerings now also include rockets with a tandem HEAT warhead to neutralise targets fitted with explosive reactive armour and a thermobaric warhead.

Teaching skills in cyber security recover from breaches and cyber security incidents. According to KCSA, the courses have been specially developed by KADDB and PGI for the region. They build on PGI’s UK government-certified cyber academy courses and will be taught by certified KADDB and PGI trainers at HTU in stateof-the-art laboratories powered by a custom cyber training rig. “Protecting critical national information infrastructure and assets requires governments and businesses to have strong in-depth cyber security defences,

quick response capability, proper policies and procedures,” said KADDB CEO Support, Brig Gen Engineer Mohammad Arajneh. At the announcement of KCSA, he highlighted the need for the cyber academy: “We can now develop Jordan’s workforce and lead the region in providing highly skilled workers and the best technical training.” Sebastian Madden, PGI’s chief corporate development officer, added: “According to a recent survey, companies in the Middle East are targeted by cyber attacks more often than anywhere else

in the world, risking the $820 billion that adopting digital technology has been predicted to add to gross domestic product in the region.” Madden noted Jordan’s ability to play an important role in assisting the region. “With the specialist training from KCSA, the many talented and hardworking individuals graduating from universities will become cyber professionals, protect Jordanian and neighbouring digital economies and help fill some of those badly needed global job vacancies.”

BDA (Hall 1, Stand B149) is ramping up production of its Missile Moyenne Portée (MMP) anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system for the French Army, with the first production systems delivered late in 2017. In French Army service, the MBDA MMP will replace the older MILAN ATGM and the US Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Javelin. The first French Army MMP contract covers the supply of 400 firing posts, 2,850 missiles and a simulator developed by GDI Simulation. MBDA classes the MMP as a fifth-generation ATGM and it is fully interoperable with the French Army’s FÉLIN (Fantassin à Équipement et Liaisons Intégrés) future infantry programme.

The MMP system consists of the missile in its disposable launch tube and the firing post, which includes the Safran electro-optical package incorporating a TV/cooled infrared sensor with three selectable fields of view (large, x4 magnification; intermediate, x12; and narrow, x18). The firing post also includes the embedded global positioning system, digital magnetic compass and a laser rangefinder sensor assembly. The latter enables the operator to launch the missile within its effective operating range. The guided missile is fitted with a tandem multipurpose high-explosive anti-tank warhead to defeat targets fitted with explosive reactive armour, and has a range of more than 4,000m, which is twice that of the MILAN it is replacing. n the back of 50 years of operations in Jordan, US-based Lockheed Martin (Hall 1, Stand C111) has just announced the sponsorship of a robotics laboratory at King’s Academy, one of the Middle East region’s foremost schools. Supporting equipment, technology and software, the Lockheed Martin Incubator is intended to supplement the school’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curricula. At the inauguration of the laboratory, Vice Admiral (Ret) Anthony Winns, Middle East-Africa regional executive, said: “Cultivating talent at the earliest stages with practical STEM initiatives such as the Lockheed Martin Incubator at King’s Academy will ensure that

Jordan continues to nurture the brightest minds that will lead their country’s quest for innovation and discovery.” The research facility will be available for use to all King’s Academy students in grades 7 to 12. An automatic vertical viewing system recognises when the binocular is in use and prevents shut-off from activating when a user tilts their head to look up. An auto shut-off functions only when the goggles are in the stowed position. Additional benefits of this binocular are fixed or adjustable diopter lenses to minimise eye strain, and a single, selfcontained AA battery with an alert when it is running low. In addition to the standard infantry version of the MMP, two of these missiles are integrated into the two-person turret installed on the French Army’s Jaguar (6x6) reconnaissance vehicle, which is also armed with a 40mm Cased Telescoped Armament System and a 7.62mm machine gun. Jaguar is the long-term replacement for the AMX-10RC and Sagaie armoured cars of the French Army. A Panhard Defense PVP (4x4) light armoured vehicle has been shown ﬁtted with a remotecontrolled turret, with four MMP in the ready-to-launch position and the optical package located in the middle.

Second warrior victory for Lebanon’s ‘Black Panthers’

onducted just prior to SOFEX, the Annual Warrior Competition held at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre (KASOTC) is in its 10th year, and this year’s event welcomed the largest field of participants yet. Lebanon’s ‘Black Panthers’ SWAT team from the country’s internal security forces took overall first place, as they did in 2016. In second place was the ‘Snow Leopard’ commando team from the Chinese police, which had back-to-back wins in 2013 and 2014. Placed third was a SWAT team from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department from California. This year’s week-long competition featured 40 teams

from 25 countries, comprising Austria, Belarus, Brunei, China, Czech Republic, Greece, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Moldova, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Sweden, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine and the US. Teams undertook special forces exercises that not only challenged individual capabilities in shooting and other skills, but also rewarded teamwork. On the ﬁnal day, the top 15 teams competed in the ‘King’s Challenge’, a gruelling 45-minute exercise in which teams have to run through rough terrain, traverse obstacle courses, move heavy objects such as truck tyres, before then having to undertake shooting exercises.

To ensure that the Jordanian military and security forces can rely on snipers trained to the highest standards, and that they are deployed with maximum effect, the King Abdullah II Sniper Centre (KASNC) was established in 2016 as a vision of His Majesty. As well as providing a wide range of courses in all elements of sniping for the Jordanian Armed Forces and security agencies, KASNC also trains snipers from friendly countries. The centre has eight ranges, including a close-quarters battle range that is soon to become operational. The centre also has mobile training teams that visit

section-designated marksmen that concentrates on mediumrange target engagement out to 600m (1,970ft). Building on this is a two-week platoondesignated marksman course for engagements at longer ranges out to 800m (2,625ft) that also includes leadership and deployment tactics.

A brite innovation most recent innovations in electronic warfare, a core area of technology for the company. According to Leonardo, the RAF will be the first air force in the world to field this protective new technology, but the product has already attracted active interest from many quarters. Designed and manufactured in the UK, BriteCloud is a sophisticated electronic jamming system in a package only a few centimetres long. It fits into a fighter aircraft’s standard chaff and flare dispenser, from which it can be ejected at the push of a button if a modern radar-

guided missile locks onto the aircraft. At launch, BriteCloud instantly powers up and its automatic jammer produces a ‘ghost’ signal to defeat the enemy’s radar. It is thus able to protect its host aircraft even in situations where traditional chaff and flare countermeasures would be ineffective. It is available in 55mm (BriteCloud 55) and 2in x 1in x 8in (BriteCloud 218) variants, which would fit into dispensers used on combat jets operated by most international air forces. Generically called an ‘active expendable decoy’ (EAD), it is both ‘active’ and ‘expendable’

Excellent marksmanship is one element of becoming a sniper: other elements such as camouflage and concealment, stalking, observation and distance-judging are equally important. These are taught at KASNC in a 10-week basic (phase one) sniper course. A four-week phase two advanced course adds further specialist sniper skills. The centre also offers a two-week counter-sniper course that teaches the tactics and thought processes that allow enemy snipers to be detected and defeated. Other courses cover ‘trainthe-trainer’ requirements, such as a one-week marksmanship and coaching course and a four-week sniper instructor course. There is also a one-week course for officers in command of sniper platoons, teaching them the tactical concepts with which snipers can be effectively deployed. because the decoy is fired away from the aircraft to create a large miss distance for an incoming missile. Leonardo developed BriteCloud as part of its industrial plan, according to which the company makes targeted investments in core technologies to support growth. As a leader in electronic warfare, Leonardo boasts more systems flying than any other provider. Some of the company’s other systems on display at SOFEX are the SAGE and SEER products. SAGE is able to geolocate radar-emitting sources from a single platform, while SEER is a digital radar warning receiver, essential for evading threat radar systems.

T Inside the mighty Mil It’s all change on the flight deck of the Mil Mi-26. Gone are the dials and gauges of the original design, which entered production in 1985, and in comes a modern ‘glass’ cockpit with five largescreen displays. The new avionics suite introduced by the latest Mi-26T2 reduces the crew requirements from two pilots, flight engineer, navigator and technician, to just two pilots. The Royal Jordanian Air Force has four Mi-26T2s on order, with this aircraft the first to be delivered. Operations were initially conducted by No. 7 Squadron here at Marka, which also flies the AS332M Super Puma, but a new squadron – appropriately numbered ‘26’ – has been established to fly the heavy-lifters.

he King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) has designed and built the Al-Sater vehicle, which would typically be used in hostage or other counter-insurgency and terrorist situations to counter threats in buildings. It consists of a Caterpillar chassis with a fully protected driver/operator station. To the front of this is a forklift device, to which is fitted a protected shield attachment, which can be raised to window height on low-profile buildings. The armour-protected attachment is to STANAG 4569 Level 2 and is provided with a bullet-/splinter-proof window and two firing ports, below which it allows both operators to use an automatic weapon

Shielded for protection with an enhanced level of protection. The Al-Sater is powered by a diesel engine developing 73hp, which gives a maximum speed of 12km/h. The chassis is fitted with rubber band-type tracks, which are quieter than conventional steel tracks and enable the AlSater to climb a gradient of up to 60 per cent, with the system having a turning radius of 2.2m. KADDB quotes a gross vehicle weight of 5,500kg, with the protected shield attachment weighing an additional 750kg. While the first version of the Al-Sater is based on a Caterpillar platform, a similar electric-powered version could be supplied based on the Still RX 6020 chassis.

Airborne rocket system shifts to land and sea

S-based Arnold Defense, manufacturer of the widely used 2.75in (70mm) rocket launcher, has teamed with global partners to launch the vehicle-mounted Fletcher weapon system. It is shown at SOFEX on the Oshkosh Defense special purpose allterrain vehicle for the first time (Hall 6, Stand A609). According to Arnold Defense, the 2.75in rocket system is ordinarily deployed on air assets as an area suppression weapon. With the advancement of laserguided rocket technology, the team was prompted to develop the Fletcher system to meet the demands of land-based vehiclemounted and dismounted asymmetric warfare.

Employing an existing suite of guidance modules, rockets and warheads, Fletcher gives land forces the capability to engage targets at up to 5km range. Fletcher is a fully integrated system, working in concert with world-class designation equipment, and can potentially also be mounted on marine and littoral platforms. Jim Hager, president and CEO of Arnold Defense, said: “Our rocket launchers are well-established on airborne platforms internationally. Transitioning to the land and also into marine environments, with Fletcher, is a natural progression and will provide these forces with a completely new capability.”

olden Eagle Aviation Academy (Hall 1, Stand A143) has been appointed as the Jordanian representative for Iomax, the US company that has developed the AT-802i and Archangel border patrol aircraft. As well as its engineering activities, Iomax also provides a range of aviation services, drawing on its considerable experience in commercial, regular military and special forces operations. The company specialises in research and design associated with systems integration, services and training. Its activities are mainly undertaken in the Middle East/North Africa region. An example of an Iomax AT-802i operated by the Royal

Jordanian Air Force is on show in the static display. With a ground school in Amman and flying centre at Mafraq – home of the RJAF’s King Hussein Aviation College – Golden Eagle Aviation Academy

offers a range of rotary-wing courses for military and paramilitary customers, with the RJAF as a strategic partner. The academy uses the Robinson R44 Raven II as its main training platform, but other equipment

can be made available to cater for individual customer requirements. The academy has already established solid co-operation with an overseas company, having forged in September 2017 an agreement to collaborate with UK-based military training specialist Inzpire, including the provision of former military instructors and experts, and a Targeted Fidelity Simulator. Inzpire is also a regular partner of the RJAF for answering advanced and niche training needs. Importantly, these e-documents can be submitted electronically to a supervisor to be e-signed, while automatic alerts will be sent when certificates near their expiration date. Mystic Lincoln Logs Business gives military organisations and corporations immediate access to total project work hours, upto-date resumés, physical status and availability of employees who have provided their Mystic ID numbers. rbital ATK is highlighting a range of its products at SOFEX (Hall 6, Stand B639). Among them is the latest version of its AC-208B Armed Caravan, which was debuted last year. Known as the AC-208 Eliminator, the new aircraft follows on from the earlier Combat Caravan, which was supplied via US Air Force channels to Iraq and Lebanon. That aircraft was a light attack/ ISR platform based on Cessna’s Caravan utility transport, which could carry a single AGM-114 Hellfire missile under each wing. Also referred to as the Block 2 Caravan, the Eliminator has a number of enhancements over the earlier aircraft, the most notable of which is the provision of twin-rack launchers for

Hellfires under the single wing hardpoint. This doubles the number of weapons that can be carried. The hardpoints can also carry seven-round 2.75in (70mm) rocket pods, which can launch Guided Advanced Tactical Rocket, Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) or

similar laser-guided rockets, as well as unguided rockets. Eliminator’s cockpit integrates a combat-proven avionics suite with large digital screens that display high-definition imagery and route maps. The aircraft is also equipped with high-definition electro-optical/ infrared sensors with integrated

Russia shows Verba manportable missile system n Christopher F Foss

he Russian KBP Instrument Design Bureau (Hall 4, Stand A401) is showing its latest-generation 9K333 Verba man-portable surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, which has been designed to engage aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles when they are on approach or receding. KBP claims the new missile outperforms earlier generation systems by 1.5 to 2 times, especially at ranges in excess of 3km. The 9M336 missile in the laser designator, as well as a flight data recorder and a cockpit voice recorder. The communication requirements are served by beyond-line-ofsight and line-of-sight systems. Other mission systems aboard the aircraft include advanced missile warning systems and countermeasure systems, which increase the survivability of the crew against a range of threats. In March the company received a contract to provide seven Eliminators to the Afghan air force via US foreign military sales. Orbital ATK also performed the system integration for Jordan’s two AC-235 light gunships that are based on the Airbus Defence and Space CN235 medium-twin transport. As well as possessing Hellfire and laser-guided rocket capability, they are fitted with the company’s M230 30mm linkfed chain gun in a side-facing installation.

9P521 launcher has an advanced tri-mode passive homing seeker, which is said to have a countercountermeasure capability against powerful pyrotechnical decoys 10 times higher. The 72mm diameter missile has a blast fragmentation warhead with impact and proximity fuzes. It can also be fitted with a night sight. The prime contractor is quoting a target engagement range of from 500m up to 6,000m and against targets with an altitude from 10m up to 3,500m. The missile is also used with an 1L229V groundbased identification friend or

foe interrogator, plus a full range of testing equipment and training aids. Targets can be detected by a number of systems, including the tripod-mounted 1L122 lightweight surveillance radar or the 9S932-1 mobile radar system, which is mounted on the tracked Armoured Command and Reconnaissance Vehicle used for a wide range of battlefield missions by the Russian Army. These would typically feed information to the 9S933 portable fire control module, which would allocate targets to the 9K333 Verba man-portable SAM system.

‫احتوائــه عــى العديــد مــن أجهــزة‬ ‫االستشــعار واملســح بأشــعة الســونار‪.‬‬ ‫ويجمــع الجهــاز الــذي يعــد‬ ‫ثــورة يف مجــال نقــل الغواصــن‬ ‫بــن أداة الدفــع ونظــام املالحــة‬ ‫«نافيغيتــور»‪ ،‬ونظــام مالحــة‬ ‫يتحكــم بــه الغــواص ونظــام مســح‬ ‫بأشــعة الســونار‪ .‬وتوفــر هــذه‬ ‫املزايــا مجتمعــة نظام ـاً قــادرا ً عــى‬ ‫تحديــد املســارات بشــكل تلقــايئ‬ ‫والتــي تــرتاوح بــن الوصــول إىل‬ ‫أهــداف بســيطة ومحــددة واتبــاع‬ ‫مســارات معقــدة‪ ،‬إىل جانــب‬ ‫توفــر معلومــات مالحيــة متكاملــة‬ ‫للغواصــن وســونار أمامــي وســفيل‬ ‫ملشــاهدة األهــداف وتحديدهــا‬ ‫مــن عــى بعــد يصــل إىل ‪ 300‬مــرت‪.‬‬ ‫وميكــن تشــغيل الجهــاز بشــكل‬ ‫يــدوي‪ ،‬كــا ميكــن أن يعمــل بقليــل‬ ‫مــن التوجيــه أو بشــكل مســتقل‬

‫بالكامــل‪ .‬وعــى عكــس أجهــزة نقل‬ ‫الغواصــن التقليديــة‪ ،‬يســتخدم‬ ‫الجهــاز الجديــد (ماكــو) محــركات‬ ‫دفــع أفقيــة لتعديــل زاويــة ميالنــه‬ ‫والــدوران واملحافظــة عــى عمــق‬ ‫ثابــت أثنــاء توقفــه‪ .‬كــا ميكنــه‬ ‫الــدوران حــول محــوره بزاويــة ‪360‬‬ ‫درجــة‪.‬‬

‫طائــرة عنكبوتيــة مســيرة ذاتيـ ًا مــن كادبــي تعرض في ســوفكس‬ ‫محمود خطاطبة‬ ‫يعــرض مركــز امللــك عبداللــه الثــاين‬ ‫للتصميــم والتطويــر (كاديب)‪ ،‬طائــرة‬ ‫عنكبوتيــة مســرة ذاتيــاً تتميــز‬ ‫ببســاطة تصميمها امليكانيــي وثباتها‬ ‫وخفــة وزنــه ‪ ،‬مــا مينحهــا قــوة عاليــة‬ ‫يف عمليــة النقــل واالنتشــار الرسيــع‪،‬‬ ‫باإلضافــة إىل أنهــا تعمــل عــى‬ ‫توفــر الحلــول وتخفيــض التكاليــف‬ ‫لالســتخدامات العســكرية‪.‬‬ ‫والطائــرة العنكبوتيــة املســرة ذاتيـاً‬ ‫باســتطاعتها الوصــول إىل أقــى‬ ‫ارتفــاع تشــغييل يصــل إىل ألــف‬ ‫مــرت خــالل ‪ 30‬دقيقــة بشــكل‬ ‫مســتقيم‪ ،‬ولديهــا القــدرة عــى‬ ‫اإلقــالع والهبــوط العامــودي مــن‬ ‫خــالل وجــود ســت مــرواح متنحهــا‬ ‫قــوة الدفــع‪.‬‬

‫«ايــه إل آي تــي» الصينيــة تعرض أربعــة أنظمة تســليح بتقنية عالية‬

‫عمران نبالق وعيل الشنيقات‬ ‫تشــارك زوديــاك ألنظمــة الســامة‬ ‫الجويــة الفرنســية يف معــرض‬ ‫ســوفكس ‪ ،2018‬حيــث تعــرض‬ ‫مظلــة القفــز التكتيكيــة والتدريبيــة‬ ‫العســكرية «إل إل أس يب يت ‪،»380‬‬ ‫التــي تحتــوي عــى مظلــة رئيســة‬ ‫وأخــرى احتياطيــة‪ ،‬واملصممــة‬ ‫خصيصــاً لتنفيــذ العديــد مــن‬ ‫التطبيقــات العســكرية‪.‬‬ ‫وتســتخدم مظلــة «إل إل أس يب يت‬

‫‪ »380‬يف تنفيــذ الهجــات مــن عــى‬ ‫ارتفاعــات منخفضــة أو يف إيصــال‬ ‫املظليــن إىل املناطــق الربيــة أو‬ ‫البحريــة ســواء يف الليــل أو النهــار‪،‬‬ ‫بعــد إنزالهــم مــن الطائ ـرات‪ .‬وتــأيت‬ ‫هــذه املظلــة بنظــام مظــات‬ ‫رئيــي وآخــر احتياطــي‪ ،‬وهــي‬ ‫مصممــة لغايــات التدريــب وتنفيــذ‬ ‫الهجــات العموديــة‪ .‬كــا ميكــن‬ ‫فتــح املظلــة عــى ارتفــاع منخفــض‬ ‫يبلــغ ‪ 450‬م ـرا ً فــوق ســطح األرض‬

‫اتفاقية بيــن األردنية ألنظمة الطيــران و «‪ »ALIT‬الصينية‬ ‫هاال الحديدي‬ ‫وقعــت الركــة األردنيــة ألنظمــة الط ـران «جــي آيــه‬ ‫يس» ورشكــة «إيــه إل آي يت»» الصينيــة عــى هامــش‬ ‫معــرض ســوفكس ‪ 2018‬اتفاقيــة إلنشــاء مركــز تدريــب‬ ‫للطـران التشــبيهي والنظــري ملشــغيل طائـرات «يس اش‬ ‫‪ »5/4/3‬الصينيــة يف موقــع الركــة األردنيــة ألنظمــة‬ ‫الط ـران‪.‬‬ ‫كــا تضمنــت االتفاقيــة إنشــاء مركــز قطــع غيــار ودعــم‬ ‫لوجســتي لخدمــة مســتخدمي الطائــرات يف منطقــة‬ ‫الــرق األوســط وشــال أفريقيــا‪.‬‬ ‫واتفقــت الركتــان عــى اســتمرار العمــل إلنشــاء مركــز‬ ‫صيانــة وإصــالح إقليمــي يف مقــر الركــة األردنيــة‬ ‫ألنظمــة الطــران لصيانــة الطائــرات وتقديــم الدعــم‬ ‫الفنــي ملســتخدميها‪.‬‬
