January 26-27, 2013 2 Day Workshop Multi dimensional style of teaching. Engaging participants with power point presentations, analogies, hands on demonstrations and practical sessions. This interactive workshop both practical and theory based will provide a good understanding of the canine structure, how it works and functions.

Day 1 Canine Anatomy, Form & Function Palpation of key muscular groups, correct anatomical terminology and the art identifying superficial bony landmarks on your own dogs are a key part of day one

Maria Johnston is one of only 3 level 3 TTouch practitioner she has been involved in dog training for over 15 years. During 2007 she completed qualifications in canine anatomy and physiology, canine massage and hydrotherapy with CEPT (Canine and Equine Physiotherapy Training) accredited by IRVAP (Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapist) taught at the Nottingham vet school. She was mentored by one of the UK's leading Veterinary physiotherapists, learned countless extra skills. She is now an advanced hydrotherapist. She has lectured at the Royal Veterinary College, Nottingham Vets School and Moulton College on TTouch, therapeutic handling and the athletic dog as well as presenting countless workshops and training days for Guide Dogs for the Blind, dog clubs and private training groups, and as a lecturer at k9 Hydro Services rehabilitation centre in Suffolk, where CPD courses for vets, vet nurses and veterinary physiotherapists are taught as well as massage and performance enhancement for trainers and owners. In October 2011 she was part of a team of veterinary physiotherapists which travelled with the Great Britain Agility Team to the World Championships in Levin, France. From September this year she will be a key lecturer on the new Small Animal Rehabilitation Certificate (PGCert) at Nottingham university. Maria’s style of teaching is engaging and multi dimensional, with power points, analogies and hands on demonstrations. This workshop will provide evidence towards KCAI—over a number of modules as the benefits will enhance both life and performance, but it is especially A2. A Certificate of attendance will be given to all candidates.

Day 2 Massage & Performance Enhancement for Costs and How to Apply… Active Dogs Preference for handler places will be given to those booking the whole Day two includes, learning the benefits of canine massage, how to improve many physiological and emotional effects as well as reducing the risk of injury to sporting dogs. Application of a combination of specific massage techniques, range of motion exercises and key muscle group enhancements will refine conditioning routines for performance dogs.
