Singapore is commonly known as a prosperous country that features modern architecture, iconic tourism spots and is a nation of rich culture. However, tucked away in odd locations in the country, live people who struggle daily to make ends meet. Poverty, especially among the elderly goes unnoticed because it is not openly discussed as it does not affect the majority of the population. This photobook hints at the lifestyle, struggles and challenges faced by the elderly living in poverty, which are often unnoticed or ignored. Hence, the title “The Sight Unseen”.
