DANIEL HUYNH

LETTER FROM YOUR LTG Hey Giraffes, It feels surreal to be your Lieutenant Governor. I would just like to thank you all for giving me such an amazing opportunity to serve such a group of dedicated members.

I am currently a Junior at Clackamas High School and I can’t believe I have come this far into my Key Club journey. I remember almost missing the deadline to pay for Key Club dues my freshman year, but thanks to Brenda Ramirez-Sanchez letting me borrow $18, I was able to buy my ticket into a life changing experience. Although I never envisioned myself as Lieutenant Governor, I always knew Key Club was where I belonged. It wasn’t until sophomore year when I decided to run for officer that truly deepened my love for Key Club. And because I was scared to run at first, I dragged my BFF Julie Lely to run with me. To our surprise, we both won officer positions: Julie as Co-President and me as Bulletin Editor. The Key Club board had become my second family and it breaks my heart that Karla, Maggie, Jawan and Benzamin will be leaving Julie and I to go off to college; they are some of the most compassionate and caring people I have met.

And before I forget, I would like to thank Reanna Le and Brian Nguyen.

Reanna will forever be my mom and I will never forget the shenanigans we did during free period, our preDCM boba runs, and getting to embarrass her every opportunity I got. As for Brian, I knew him as Bao for the first 3 years, but I will always remember his wavy personality and witty remarks while sitting next to him in AP Environmental. These individuals have made my Key Club experience truly memorable and I can’t thank them all enough going into my term.

Meet YourDistrict New Executives Governor

District Governor INGRID REDFORD

Hello, Pacific Northwest!

My name is Ingrid Redford and I am both honored and humbled to be your 2018-2019 District Governor. Key Club has the ability to make an impact on hundreds of thousands of people. Over the past year, our district contributed over 92,000 service hours through our service to our homes, schools, and communities. As Key Clubbers, we make not only a large impact on our world, but also on individuals. With this being said, Key Club has shaped me into the person I am today and has taught me the value of service, leadership, and commitment.

I plan to utilize my experience and insight as a member, club secretary, lieutenant governor, committee chair, and now, a District Governor, to implement growth and expand our district. My goals for this year are centered around a five-part plan that will advance our district progress through communication, resources, enhancing knowledge, growth, and leadership. These goals are focused on the inverted pyramid structure of Key Club, placing the emphasis on how we as a district can further serve our members, while fulfilling the mission of Key Club: service.

Myself, along with the other Executive Officers, are here to serve you and want to hear voices from throughout our district. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or the other Executive Officers. We are just a text, message, call, or email away.

District Secretary BRANDON ORICK

Greetings, PNW!

My name is Brandon Orick, and I’ll be serving as your 2018-2019 District Secretary. I am beyond excited to engage in this position and grow this coming year. I believe my past experience as Lieutenant Governor of Division 70 has equipped me with the skills necessary to fulfill my position on the Executive Board. By utilizing monthly Secretary Reports to pinpoint specific issues that individual clubs are facing, the Executive Board can formulate strategies to help address these concerns. Serving as your secretary, I will act as a liaison between your club and the PNW District. I will work to insure that each club in need of assistance is heard and their issues are addressed.

Through Key Club, I have learned the true meaning of service, and the true meaning of caring for one another. As secretary, I will be able to work closely with individual clubs and even individual members, creating strong relationships. I want to focus on being accessible to anyone who needs information or assistance, ultimately bridging the gap between the district and club level. Â I will strive to keep bettering the organization that has given me so much. In Key Club, no goal is too high and opportunities are endless. I am inspired by Key Clubbers on a daily basis and am ecstatic to be able to work alongside you for this next year.

District Secretary ANDY HE

Hello, PNW!

My name is Andy He and I am beyond excited to serve as your 2018-2019 District Treasurer! I believe that having served as club treasurer for my own Key Club has given me the skills and the confidence to assist and lead treasurers across our great District.

Throughout this year, I hope to set up a network of communications between myself and all club treasurers, enabling the sharing of successful strategies and tips so that we may all better execute the duties of treasurer.

One of my main goals is to structure the role of a club treasurer to encompass three core areas: basic duties, fundraising, and membership. Some of the basic duties of a club treasurer include a detailed understanding of the dues-paying process, the chartering process of a club, and maintaining the club budget. Fundraising tasks would involve utilizing available resources to enhance the quality of service projects and fundraisers, or even applying for a PNWOF grant through the District. Finally, the membership component of a treasurer's role incorporates analyzing club strategies for active member involvement, club growth through recruitment, and discussing ways to boost membership retention with other club officers.

Please remember that I am always here as a resource for all of your questions and concerns throughout this whole year. I know that dues season for treasurers can get very hectic, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me to request guidance on specific issues, offer tips, or if you just want to talk in general. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

My name is Julie Lely and I am honored to be your 2018-2019 District Editor. I’m so excited to embark on this journey alongside you all, and to make this upcoming Key Club year one filled with unforgettable and impactful moments. Key Club has enabled me to meet amazing people, make memories I will treasure forever, and learn from the myriad of events I’ve attended—all while making a positive impact on my community. Through my 3 years of being a Key Clubber, I’ve learned to serve with a purpose, and support causes that help others in our world. This year, I hope to focus on the members to insure that their voices are projected and heard. I hope to highlight the amazing things YOU guys are doing to help your communities, as well as capture the incredible effects of those efforts. Remember that I am not only here as an Executive Officer, but also as a resource and friend.
