Jan Manton Art welcomes the start of 2014 with an exhibition of new works by Carl Warner. I will support you forever and ever continues Warner’s ongoing engagement with the visual resonance of 20th Century Modernism into the 21st Century. Bio Carl Warner (b.1965) has been exhibiting since 1989. During the 1990s his solo exhibitions included ‘Sense’ at the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne (1995) and ‘A Concrete asture’ at the Univ ersity Art Museum, University of Queensland (1998) and Cairns Regional Gallery (1999); ’under’ at Christine Abrahams Gallery, Melbourne (2003); ‘The Surface’ at Esa Jaske Gallery, Sydney. Group exhibitions have included ‘Retro Version’ at the Canberra Contemporary Art Space (1990); ‘The Art of Inclusion’ at the Queensland Art Gallery (touring 1999-2000); ‘Minimal’ at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney (2000); ‘surface’ Queensland Centre for Photography (2004 touring exhibition); ‘Sleight’ Queensland Centre for Photography (2004/5 touring exhibition) and ‘The Lake’ in Taipei (2005). In 2006 Warner launched ‘Sensing the Surface’ a ten-year retrospective of his photographic works, published by the University of Queensland Art Museum. Recent exhibitions for 2007 include ‘Twenty : Twenty (20 artists, 20 years of the Churchie Art Awards)’ at the Museum of Brisbane, and was an entrant in the 2007 THEISS Arts Prize. Warner will be featured in the upcoming publication ‘Contemporary Australian Photography: 1980-2007’, written by Anne Marsh of Monash University, Melbourne. CV Exhibitions
