Palmer project

Our selection of artworks for this project has been carefully curated to compliment the overall design vision, considering the colour palette, furnishings, and intricate details throughout each space. This cohesive collection ensures a smooth visual flow from room to room, creating an atmosphere that feels thoughtfully connected and intentional.

Each piece has been chosen to balance the specific elements within each room—acknowledging flooring textures, furniture styles, and finishing touches that elevate the ambiance. The monochromatic scheme we’ve embraced lends a timeless elegance, softened by subtle colour accents introduced strategically in Bedroom 2, the sitting room, and the hallway. This subtle addition of colour preserves cohesion while adding warmth and personality to each space, enabling the artworks to enrich and reflect the distinct character of each room.

Dining Room

Andrew Browne’s two paintings create a harmonious pairing, with aluminum mixed into the oil paint that adds a subtle reflective quality, enhancing the darker shapes in each piece. Inspired by nature, these artworks offer a serene contemplation of the natural world. Their box-style aluminum frames echo the Vanzio quartzite of the island, benchtop, and splashback, creating a cohesive connection with the space. The dominant green in the soft furnishings contrasts beautifully with the black and silver tones in the paintings, adding depth and visual interest.

We propose Carl Warner’s “Waterfall” for display in the hallway, inviting viewers into an immersive, meditative space. Dominated by cool tones and hues of blue, this artwork captures the serenity and dynamic power of flowing water.

Living room

Marion Borgelt’s work captures the essence of visual kinetics, creating a dynamic, lenticular effect that changes as you move across it. She achieves this by painting both sides of the canvas, then slitting and pinning the resulting ribbons, giving the piece a shifting, layered appearance. The pearlescent paint combined with the natural linen tones complements the room, as well as the nearby lamp and glass console where the piece is displayed.

Sitting Room

We are proposing two complementary works by Miles Hall for this room. Both paintings are created in oil on canvas with an added panel covered in suédine (a suede-like fabric), adding texture and depth to each piece. The palette features muted green and grey tones, providing a subtle backdrop to the abstract oil markings. The larger piece, measuring [dimensions], will be positioned behind the couch, while the smaller, horizontal piece, measuring [dimensions], will be placed above the console. This arrangement will integrate nicely with the room’s layout and furnishings.

Bedroom 2

For Bedroom 2, we have selected two options by Natalie Lavelle. One is a square piece measuring [dimensions] that will fit well on the wall beside the chair, filling the space beautifully. The other option is a horizontal piece, [dimensions], with a slightly lower profile that could also work nicely in the room. Both pieces feature subtle flesh tones blended with cooler swirls, creating a gentle contrast that complements the surrounding furniture.
