Prolog An-Naḥl (The Bees) is the 16th chapter (surah) of The Holy Qur'an, with 128 ayah (verse). It is named after honey bees, and contains a comparison of the industry and adaptability of honey bees to the industry of man. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the supposed revelation (asbal alnuzul), it is an earlier "Meccan surah", which means it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, instead of later in Medina.

This surah warns against polytheism, saying that the pagan gods cannot create anything [Quran 16:20], and against comparisons between Allah SWT (God) and any created beings [Quran 16:74]. It praises Allah SWT (God) for giving the Earth with all its wealth to mankind. According to this surah, all wonders of the natural world, like seas, stars, mountains are proofs of God's infinite power [Quran 16:14].

The verse 66 talks about the miracle in milk formation in cattle: "From what is within their bodies, between excretions and blood, We produce for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it."

The verse 67 talks about miracle of vine: "And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out strong drink and wholesome food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise".

Esta sura advierte contra el politeísmo, diciendo que los dioses paganos no pueden crear nada[Corán 16:20], y contra las comparaciones entre Allah SWT (Dios) y cualquier ser creado[Corán 16:74]. 1. The Event (the Hour or the punishment of disbelievers and polytheists or the Islamic laws or commandments), ordained by Allah will come to pass, so seek not to hasten it. Glorified and Exalted be He above all that they associate as partners with Him. 2. He sends down the angels with inspiration of His Command to whom of His slaves He pleases (saying): "Warn mankind that La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so fear Me (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds).

3. He has created the heavens and the earth with truth.

High be He Exalted above all they associate as partners with Him. 4. He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent.

5. And the cattle, He has created them for you; in them there is warmth (warm clothing), and numerous benefits, and of them you eat.

6. And wherein is beauty for you, when you bring them home in the evening, and as you lead them forth to pasture in the morning.

7. And they carry your loads to a land that you could not reach except with great trouble to yourselves.

Truly, your Lord is full of Kindness, Most Merciful.

8. And (He has created) horses, mules and donkeys, for you to ride and as an adornment. And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge.

9. And upon Allah is the responsibility to explain the Straight Path (i.e. Islamic Monotheism for mankind i.e. to show them legal and illegal, good and evil things, etc. so, whosoever accepts the guidance, it will be for his own benefit and whosoever goes astray, it will be for his own destruction), but there are ways that turn aside (such as Paganism, Judaism, Christianity, etc.). And had He willed, He would have guided you all (mankind).

10. He it is Who sends down water (rain) from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture; 11. With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought.

12. And He has subjected to you the night and the day, the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected

by His Command. Surely, in this are proofs for people who understand.

13. And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember.

14. And He it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that you eat thereof fresh tender meat (i.e. fish), and that you bring forth out of it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing through it, that you may seek (thus) of His Bounty (by transporting the goods from place to place) and that you may be grateful.

15. And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves.

16. And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves.

17. Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not?

Will you not then remember?

18. And if you would count the graces of Allah, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allah is OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

19. And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal.

20. Those whom they (Al-Mushrikun ) invoke besides Allah have not created anything, but are themselves created.

21. (They are) dead, lifeless, and they know not when they will be raised up.

22. Your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but He). But for those who believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts deny (the faith in the Oneness of Allah), and they are proud.

23. Certainly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Truly, He likes not the proud.

24. And when it is said to them: "What is it that your Lord has sent down (unto Muhammad say: "Tales of the men of old!"

)?" They

25. They will bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and also of the burdens of those whom they misled without knowledge. Evil indeed is that which they shall bear!

26. Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive.

27. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: "Where are My (so called) 'partners' concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allah)?" Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allah for the disbelievers) will say: "Verily! Disgrace this Day and misery are upon the disbelievers.

28. "Those whose lives the angels take while they are doing wrong to themselves (by disbelief and by associating partners in worship with Allah and by committing all kinds of crimes and evil deeds)."

Then, they will make (false) submission (saying): "We used not to do any evil." (The angels will reply): "Yes! Truly, Allah is All-Knower of what you used to do.

29. "So enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein , and indeed, what an evil abode will be for the arrogant."

30. And (when) it is said to those who are the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) "What is it that your Lord has sent down?" They say: "That which is good." For those who do good in this world, there is good, and the home of the Hereafter will be better.

And excellent indeed will be the home (i.e. Paradise) of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2).

31. 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity) which they will enter, under which rivers flow, they will have therein all that they wish. Thus Allah rewards the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2).

32. Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allah Alone) saying (to them): Salamun 'Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of (the good) which you used to do (in the world)."

33. Do they (the disbelievers and polytheists) await but that the angels should come to them [to take away 11

their souls (at death)], or there should come the command (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) of your Lord? Thus did those before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.

34. Then, the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that at which they used to mock surrounded them.

35. And those who join others in worship with Allah say: "If Allah had so willed, neither we nor our fathers would have worshipped aught but Him, nor would we have forbidden anything without (Command from) Him." So did those before them.

Then! Are the Messengers charged with anything but to convey clearly the Message?

36. And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth).

37. If you (O Muhammad ) covet for their guidance, then verily Allah guides not those whom He makes to go astray (or none can guide him whom Allah sends astray). And they will have no helpers.

38. And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that Allah will not raise up him who dies. Yes, (He will raise them up), a promise (binding) upon Him in truth, but most of mankind know not.

39. In order that He may make manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved (in Resurrection, and in the Oneness of Allah) may know that they were liars.

40. Verily! Our Word unto a thing when We intend it, is only that We say unto it: "Be!" and it is.

41. And as for those who emigrated for the Cause of Allah, after suffering oppression, We will certainly give them goodly residence in this world, but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater, if they but knew!

42. (They are) those who remained patient (in this world for Allah's sake), and put their trust in their Lord (Allah Alone).

43. And We sent not (as Our Messengers) before you (O Muhammad ) any but men, whom We inspired, (to preach and invite mankind to believe in the Oneness of Allah). So ask of those who know the Scripture [learned men of the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], if you know not.

44. With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad

Qur'an), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought.

45. Do then those who devise evil plots feel secure that Allah will not sink them into the earth, or that the torment will not seize them from directions they perceive not?

46. Or that He may catch them in the midst of their going to and fro (in their jobs), so that there be no escape for them (from Allah's Punishment)?

47. Or that He may catch them with gradual wasting (of their wealth and health). Truly! Your Lord is indeed full of Kindness, Most Merciful?

48. Have they not observed things that Allah has created, (how) their shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration unto Allah, and they are lowly?

49. And to Allah prostate all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, of the live moving creatures and the angels, and they are not proud [i.e. they worship their Lord (Allah) with humility].

50. They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.

51. And Allah said (O mankind!): "Take not ilahain (two gods in worship, etc.). Verily, He (Allah) is (the) only One Ilah (God). Then, fear Me (Allah Ìá ÌáÇáå) much [and Me (Alone), i.e. be away from all kinds of sins and evil deeds that Allah has forbidden and do all that Allah has ordained and worship none but Allah] .

52. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and (all that is in) the earth and Ad-Din Wasiba is His [(i.e. perpetual sincere obedience to Allah is obligatory).

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]. Will you then fear any other than Allah?

53. And whatever of blessings and good things you have, it is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you, unto Him you cry aloud for help.

54. Then, when He has removed the harm from you, behold! Some of you associate others in worship with their Lord (Allah).

55. So (as a result of that) they deny (with ungratefulness) that (Allah's Favours) which We have bestowed on them! Then enjoy yourselves (your short stay), but you will come to know (with regrets).

56. And they assign a portion of that which We have provided them unto what they know not (false deities). By Allah, you shall certainly be questioned about (all) that you used to fabricate.

57. And they assign daughters unto Allah! Glorified (and Exalted) be He above all that they associate with Him! . And unto themselves what they desire; 58. And when the news of (the birth of) a female (child) is brought to any of them, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with inward grief!

59. He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that whereof he has been informed. Shall he

keep her with dishonour or bury her in the earth ?

Certainly, evil is their decision.

60. For those who believe not in the Hereafter is an evil description, and for Allah is the highest description. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

61. And if Allah were to seize mankind for their wrong-doing, He would not leave on it (the earth) a single moving (living) creature, but He postpones them for an appointed term and when their term comes, neither can they delay nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).

62. They assign to Allah that which they dislike (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that the better things will be theirs. No doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it, and left there neglected. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol.10, Page 121) 63. By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers) to the nations before you (O Muhammad ), but Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them. So he (Satan) is their Wali (helper) today (i.e. in this world), and theirs will be a painful torment.

64. And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad ), except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe.

65. And Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, then He revives the earth therewith after its death.

Verily, in this is a sign (clear proof) for people who listen (obey Allah).

66. And verily! In the cattle, there is a lesson for you.

We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, from between excretions and blood, pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.

67. And from the fruits of date-palms and grapes, you derive strong drink (this was before the order of the prohibition of the alcoholic drinks) and a goodly provision. Verily, therein is indeed a sign for people who have wisdom.

68. And your Lord inspired the bee, saying: "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect.

69. "Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.

70. And Allah has created you and then He will cause you to die, and of you there are some who are sent back to senility, so that they know nothing after having known (much). Truly! Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

71. And Allah has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and 17

properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof . Do they then deny the Favour of Allah?

72. And Allah has made for you wives of your own kind, and has made for you, from your wives, sons and grandsons, and has bestowed on you good provision. Do they then believe in false deities and deny the Favour of Allah (by not worshipping Allah Alone).

73. And they worship others besides Allah, such as do not and cannot own any provision for them from the heavens or the earth.

74. So put not forward similitudes for Allah (as there is nothing similar to Him, nor He resembles anything). Truly! Allah knows and you know not.

75. Allah puts forward the example (of two men a believer and a disbeliever); a slave (disbeliever) under the possession of another, he has no power of any sort, and (the other), a man (believer) on whom We have bestowed a good provision from Us, and He spends thereof secretly and openly. Can they be equal? (By no means, not). All the praises and thanks be to Allah. Nay! (But) most of them know not.

76. And Allah puts forward (another) example of two men, one of them dumb, who has no power over anything (disbeliever), and he is a burden to his master, whichever way he directs him, he brings no good. Is such a man equal to one (believer in the 18

Islamic Monotheism) who commands justice, and is himself on a Straight Path?

77. And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. Truly! Allah is Able to do all things.

78. And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah).

79. Do they not see the birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None holds them but Allah [none gave them the ability to fly but Allah]. Verily, in this are clear proofs and signs for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allah).

80. And Allah has made for you in your homes an abode, and made for you out of the hides of the cattle (tents for) dwelling, which you find so light (and handy) when you travel and when you stay (in your travels), and of their wool, fur, and hair (sheep wool, camel fur, and goat hair), a furnishing and articles of convenience (e.g. carpets, blankets, etc.), a comfort for a while.

81. And Allah has made for you out of that which He has created shades, and has made for you places of refuge in the mountains, and has made for you garments to protect you from the heat (and cold), and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He perfect His Grace unto you, 19

that you may submit yourselves to His Will (in Islam).

82. Then, if they turn away, your duty (O Muhammad ) is only to convey (the Message) in a clear way.

83. They recognise the Grace of Allah, yet they deny it (by worshipping others besides Allah) and most of them are disbelievers (deny the Prophethood of Muhammad

).

84. And (remember) the Day when We shall raise up from each nation a witness (their Messenger), then, those who have disbelieved will not be given leave (to put forward excuses), nor will they be allowed (to return to the world) to repent and ask for Allah's Forgiveness (of their sins, etc.).

85. And when those who did wrong (the disbelievers) will see the torment, then it will not be lightened unto them, nor will they be given respite.

86. And when those who associated partners with Allah see their (Allah's so-called) partners, they will say: "Our Lord! These are our partners whom we used to invoke besides you." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Surely! You indeed are liars!"

87. And they will offer (their full) submission to Allah (Alone) on that Day, and their invented false deities [all that they used to invoke besides Allah, e.g. idols, saints, priests, monks, angels, jinns, Jibrael (Gabriel), Messengers, etc.] will vanish from them.

88. Those who disbelieved and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, for them We will add torment over the torment; because they used to spread corruption [by disobeying Allah themselves, as well as ordering others (mankind) to do so].

89. And (remember) the Day when We shall raise up from every nation a witness against them from amongst themselves. And We shall bring you (O Muhammad ) as a witness against these. And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims).

90. Verily, Allah enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allah Alone - Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, totally for Allah's sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help, etc.): and forbids AlFahsha' (i.e all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right, etc.), and Al-Munkar (i.e all that is prohibited by Islamic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds, etc.), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take heed.

91. And fulfill the Covenant of Allah (Bai'a: pledge for Islam) when you have covenanted, and break not the oaths after you have confirmed them, and indeed you have appointed Allah your surety. Verily! Allah knows what you do.

92. And be not like her who undoes the thread which she has spun after it has become strong, by taking your oaths a means of deception among yourselves, lest a nation may be more numerous than another nation. Allah only tests you by this [i.e who obeys Allah and fulfills Allah's Covenant and who disobeys Allah and breaks Allah's Covenant]. And on the Day of Resurrection, He will certainly make clear to you that wherein you used to differ [i.e. a believer confesses and believes in the Oneness of Allah and in the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad which the disbeliever denies it and that was their difference amongst them in the life of this world] .

93. And had Allah willed, He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. But you shall certainly be called to account for what you used to do.

94. And make not your oaths, a means of deception among yourselves, lest a foot may slip after being firmly planted, and you may have to taste the evil (punishment in this world) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah (i.e. Belief in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad

yours will be a great torment (i.e. the Fire of Hell in the Hereafter).

95. And purchase not a small gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant. Verily! What is with Allah is better for you if you did but know.

96. Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever with Allah (of good deeds) will remain.

And those who are patient, We will certainly pay them a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do .

97. Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e.

Paradise in the Hereafter).

98. So when you want to recite the Qur'an, seek refuge with Allah from Shaitan (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one).

99. Verily! He has no power over those who believe and put their trust only in their Lord (Allah).

100. His power is only over those who obey and follow him (Satan), and those who join partners with Him (Allah) [i.e. those who are Mushrikun polytheists - see Verse 6:121].

101. And when We change a Verse [of the Qur'an, i.e. cancel (abrogate) its order] in place of another, and 23

Allah knows the best of what He sends down, they (the disbelievers) say: "You (O Muhammad ) are but a Muftari! (forger, liar)." Nay, but most of them know not.

102. Say (O Muhammad ) Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought it (the Qur'an) down from your Lord with truth, that it may make firm and strengthen (the Faith of) those who believe and as a guidance and glad tidings to those who have submitted (to Allah as Muslims).

103. And indeed We know that they (polytheists and pagans) say: "It is only a human being who teaches him (Muhammad )." The tongue of the man they refer to is foreign, while this (the Qur'an) is a clear Arabic tongue.

104. Verily! Those who believe not in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, Allah will not guide them and theirs will be a painful torment.

105. It is only those who believe not in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars.

106. Whoever disbelieved in Allah after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith but such as open their breasts to disbelief, on them is wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a great torment.

107. That is because they loved and preferred the life of this world over that of the Hereafter. And Allah guides not the people who disbelieve.

108. They are those upon whose hearts, hearing (ears) and sight (eyes) Allah has set a seal. And they are the heedless!

109. No doubt, in the Hereafter, they will be the losers.

110. Then, verily! Your Lord for those who emigrated after they had been put to trials and thereafter strove hard and fought (for the Cause of Allah) and were patient, verily, your Lord afterward is, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

111. (Remember) the Day when every person will come up pleading for himself, and every one will be paid in full for what he did (good or evil, belief or disbelief in the life of this world) and they will not be dealt with unjustly.

112. And Allah puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well content; its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allah (with ungratefulness). So Allah made it taste the extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad which they (its people) used to do .

themselves, but they denied him, so the torment overtook them while they were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).

114. So eat of the lawful and good food which Allah has provided for you. And be grateful for the Graces of Allah, if it is He Whom you worship.

115. He has forbidden you only Al-Maytatah (meat of a dead animal), blood, the flesh of swine, and any animal which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols etc. or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, and not transgressing, then, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

116. And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper.

117. A passing brief enjoyment (will be theirs), but they will have a painful torment.

118. And unto those who are Jews, We have forbidden such things as We have mentioned to you (O Muhammad ) before [in Surat-Al-An'am, (The Cattle), see Verse 6:146]. And We wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.

119. Then, verily! Your Lord for those who do evil (commit sins and are disobedient to Allah) in 26

ignorance and afterward repent and do righteous deeds, verily, your Lord thereafter, (to such) is OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

120. Verily, Ibrahim (Abraham) was an Ummah (a leader having all the good righteous qualities), or a nation, obedient to Allah, Hanifa (i.e. to worship none but Allah), and he was not one of those who were AlMushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and those who joined partners with Allah).

121. (He was) thankful for His (Allah's) Graces. He (Allah) chose him (as an intimate friend) and guided him to a Straight Path (Islamic Monotheism, neither Judaism nor Christianity ).

122. And We gave him good in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be of the righteous.

123. Then, We have inspired you (O Muhammad saying): "Follow the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism - to worship none but Allah) and he was not of the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers, etc.).

124. The Sabbath was only prescribed for those who differed concerning it, and verily, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ.

125. Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, 27

and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.

126. And if you punish (your enemy, O you believers in the Oneness of Allah), then punish them with the like of that with which you were afflicted. But if you endure patiently, verily, it is better for As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)

127. And endure you patiently (O Muhammad ), your patience is not but from Allah. And grieve not over them (polytheists and pagans, etc.), and be not distressed because of what they plot.

128. Truly, Allah is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are Muhsinun (good-doers)

The Meaning of Surah 016 An-Nahl The Bees Las Abejas English Version An-Nahl is the 16th chapter of the Quran. It is named after the bee mentioned in verses 68 and 69. The bee is one of many examples mentioned in this chapter of God’s grace towards His creation. An-Nahl was revealed in Mecca and contains 128 verses. Up to verse 88 its contents are addressed to the idolaters and polytheists. In the concluding verses Prophet Muhammad and his companions are instructed how to act in the face of antagonism and persecution.

Verses 1-9 There is no true deity but God The Day of Judgement is coming so do not be impatient to experience it. God sends down angels to inspire some people to warn others that there is no true deity but God. Fear Him for He is far above anything they associate with Him. People are created from a tiny drop of sperm but soon they become strong and openly challenge God. For the benefit of humankind God created cattle for food, clothing and to carry burdens. He also created horses, mules and donkeys to ride and other things that are beyond the comprehension of humankind. For some, God distinguishes the right path from the wrong paths and

He could have done this for everybody had it been His desire to do so.

Verses 10 – 21 God’s blessings for humankind God sends down rain. It provides drinking water and it nourishes crops and fruit including olives, date palms and vines. This is a sign for those who ponder.

God has made the day, the night, the sun, the moon and stars for the benefit of humankind. These are signs for those who think. The Earth is filled with things of many different colours; these are signs for those seeking to learn a lesson from them. God has made the sea for the benefit of humankind; it is a source of food and adornment. Ships to sail through it so that humankind may seek God’s bounties and perhaps give thanks. God has also set the mountains firmly into the earth to prevent it from shaking and He has made rivers and paths with landmarks and stars to guide people through the lands.

This is a reminder of His power and generosity and if a person wanted to count all the blessings that God had sent down he could not do so. God is Forgiving and Merciful and He knows what people keep hidden.

The deities that are invoked along with God are unable to create anything for they are creations themselves, who do not even know when they will be resurrected.

Verses 22 – 29 Punishment for arrogance God is One, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are arrogant and their hearts contain no faith. God 31

does not like the arrogant because He knows what they keep hidden and what they say or do openly.

When they are asked about what God has revealed they say that it is nothing but fairy tales from the old days. On the Day of Resurrection they will bear their own burdens plus some of the burdens of those they led astray.

People from earlier times felt the punishment come upon them from out of nowhere. On the Day of Judgment they will be humiliated once again. Those with knowledge know that it will be a day of misery for the disbelievers. Those who die doing wrong will deny their wrongdoing but God is aware of what they were doing. So they enter Hell and will remain there in the evil home of the arrogant.

Verses 30 – 40 The good are rewarded and God’s promise is true Those who feared God and were righteous will be asked about what God sent down and they will describe it as good. There are rewards in this world for the righteous but their home in the Hereafter is even better, it is an excellent abode. They will be rewarded with gardens under which rivers flow and they will have whatever they desire. When the pious people die the angels greet them with words of peace and show them into the gardens of reward.

God was not unjust to the disbelievers, they were unjust to themselves. They will be struck by the consequences of their actions and will be swallowed up by what they used to mock and ridicule. Those 32

who face the punishment say they would have worshipped God alone if that is what God had willed; their forefathers said that too. Messengers were sent to every nation and their only duty was to warn. If anyone travels through the earth they can see what happened to those who did not heed the warning.

Those who God led astray cannot be guided. God’s promise to raise the dead to life is true. Everything will be made clear and the disbelievers will realise how wrong they were. When God intends anything to happen He need only say, "Be", and it is.

Verses 41 – 50 Reflection Those who had to leave their homes in order to worship God will find a home in a good place but the home they have in the Hereafter will be even better.

A very happy end awaits those who are steadfast and put their trust in God. All the messengers God sent were human beings, the people of the scripture (Jews and Christians) know this, so ask them if you need to.

Now this Quran has come so that Prophet Muhammad can explain things clearly and the people can think and reflect. Are those who do wrong really sure that the punishment will not come upon them suddenly, or perhaps it will sneak up on them gradually. The disbelievers have not truly reflected on what God has created - everything humbly fulfilling its purpose, fearing God and doing what He commands.

in the heavens and the earth. All blessings are from God and it is to God that the distressed person turns.

Yet as soon as the relief comes some people turn to something other than God. There will be consequences for the ingratitude. Even the sustenance God provides is sometimes spent on false deities but anyone who does this will be called to account. They wrongly say that God has daughters but they themselves want to have only sons. When the birth of a female child is announced the father is consumed with grief and has to decide whether to bear their perceived humiliation or bury the girl alive. Those who do not believe in the Hereafter set the worst example to follow.

Verses 61-69 A warning to make things clear If God punished humankind for the evil that they do there would not be one person left on the earth.

Instead He gives them respite, until an appointed time. It is a time that cannot be delayed or bought forward. They attribute to God the daughters that they themselves dislike. They think they will have a good reward but their reward is Hell and they will be among the first to be sent there. The followers of Satan will face a painful punishment. The Quran was revealed in order to make the things they argue about clear and it is a guidance and a mercy for those who believe.

God has sent down rain to revive the earth. The cows produce milk and the vines and gardens grow wholesome foods of all kinds. These things are a sign 34

of God’s bounty; in them is a lesson to be learned.

And God created the bee, which feeds on all kinds of fruit and produces honey for the benefit of humankind. It comes in many colours and has healing properties. This is another sign for those who think.

Verses 70 – 81 God gives examples God created you and it is He that will cause you to die. Some people will live well into old age and will lose their faculties. Some people have been given more provision than others and many of them do not share their wealth. Is that a way of rejecting the blessings of God? God has given you spouses and children and grandchildren, yet still some people deny His blessings. Those deities worshipped other than God have no power.

God gives examples. Are slaves and those who have been provided with everything equal? Is a person unable to care for himself equal to one who is righteous and dispenses justice? The Day of Judgment is coming. Babies emerge from their mother’s wombs knowing nothing but God provides them with hearing, sight and minds so that they can be thankful to Him. God has made the birds able to fly without falling. He provides humankind with shelter and warmth and everything you need for the term of your lives. You have garments that protect you from the heat and the cold and other garments that protect you in battle. He bestows the favours so that you will submit to Him. 35

Verses 82 – 89 The disbelievers will feel no respite The Prophet’s duty is only to deliver the message.

Most people understand but are ungrateful and turn away. On the Day of Judgment there will be a witness (their Messenger) from every nation. Then it will be too late for excuses. The disbelievers will see what awaits them and there will be no respite. When the disbelievers appeal to their false gods, the gods will call them liars and disassociate themselves from the ones who worshipped them. Those who disbelieve and prevent others from believing will have their punishment increased. God will bring a witness from every nation and Prophet Muhammad will be the witness over the Muslims. And the Quran has been sent down as guidance, mercy and good tidings.

Verses 90 – 100 God commands righteousness God commands humankind to be just and behave with righteousness whilst being supportive of their relatives. He forbids immorality and oppression.

This is a reminder. Fulfil any oaths you take in the name of God, and do not deceive each other or conspire against others. This is a test. On the Day of Judgement the things you argued about will be made clear.

God could have made everybody one nation but He allows people to practice their free will – however you will be responsible for your actions. Do not deceive each other or hinder other people from worshipping God. To do so will result in a great 36

punishment. Do not break agreements and oaths.

Worldly things are transitory but what is from God is everlasting. The righteous will have a new life in the Hereafter. Whenever you recite from the Quran seek refuge in God from the accursed Satan. Satan has no power over those who are submitted to God; his power only affects those who align themselves with him (Satan) and worship something other than God. Verses 101 – 111 God does not guide the disbelievers When God substitutes one verse for another they say that Prophet Muhammad has invented lies but they do not understand that angel Gabriel has brought the verses down piecemeal in order to gradually strengthen the believers. They say that a human being has taught Prophet Muhammad the revelations but this Quran is in clear Arabic. If people do not believe, God does not continue to guide them and a painful punishment will be the end result. They love this world more than the Hereafter. God has sealed the hearts, ears and eyes of the heedless, but those who must flee persecution or are compelled to say words of disbelief will feel God’s mercy and forgiveness. Anyone who denies the correct faith willingly will feel the wrath of God. On the Day of Judgement everyone will be dealt justly with and get what they deserve.

Verses 112- 117 Eat from the good things provided God presents an example of a town that was secure with provisions in abundance. The people became 37

ungrateful so they were afflicted with famine and fear. They denied their Messenger and the punishment overtook them. So eat from the good things God has provided and be grateful. God has forbidden only carrion, blood, pig meat and that which has been dedicated to something other than God. But if a person must eat these things out of necessity God will be forgiving. Do not invent lies about what is lawful and what is unlawful because those who tell lies about God will have only a little enjoyment before the punishment overtakes them.

Verses 118 – 128 Follow the example of the righteous and use wisdom when you talk about God The Jews were prohibited certain things but it was not a hardship upon them, they turned it into a hardship.

God is most forgiving to those who do wrong out of ignorance and then repent. Prophet Abraham is a good example, he was devout and obedient. He was grateful and did not associate anything with God. He had a good life and will be amongst the righteous in the Hereafter. The Sabbath day was made obligatory because they argued and differed about it and on the Day of Judgment God will judge between them.

Call the people to God with wisdom and good advice. Reason with them in a courteous manner.

God knows best who will be guided and who will go astray. If you must retaliate make your response proportionate to how you were harmed, however it is better to be patient. Prophet Muhammad is told to be 38

patient and not to grieve or be distressed by the conspiracies of the disbelievers. God is with those who are mindful of Him and have an attitude of righteousness.

8. Y (Él ha creado) caballos, mulas y asnos, para que los montes y los adornes. Y Él crea (otras) cosas de las cuales tú no tienes conocimiento.

9. 12. Y os ha sujetado la noche y el día, el sol y la luna; y las estrellas están sujetas por su mandato.

13. Y todo lo que Él ha creado para ustedes en esta tierra de colores variados[y cualidades de la vegetación y de los frutos, etc. (vida botánica) y de animal (vida zoológica)]. Verdaderamente! En esto hay un signo para la gente que recuerda.

14. Y Él es Quien ha sujetado el mar (a vosotros), para que comáis de él carne fresca y tierna (es decir, pescado), y para que saquéis de él adornos para llevar. Y ves las naves arando a través de ella, para que puedas buscar (así) de Su generosidad (transportando los bienes de un lugar a otro) y para que puedas estar agradecido.

15. Y ha puesto en la tierra montañas firmes, para que no tiemble con vosotros, y ríos y caminos, para que os guíeis.

16. Y los puntos de referencia (señales, etc. durante el día) y las estrellas (durante la noche), ellos (la humanidad) se guían a sí mismos.

18. Y si contaras las gracias de Alá, nunca podrías contarlas. ¡De verdad! Alá es indulgente, misericordioso.

19. Y Alá sabe lo que oculta y lo que revela.

20. Aquellos a quienes ellos (Al-Mushrikun) invocan además de Alá no han creado nada, sino que han sido creados ellos mismos.

21. Están muertos, sin vida, y no saben cuándo serán resucitados.

22. Tu Ilah (Dios) es Un Ilah (Dios Alá, nadie tiene el derecho de ser adorado sino Él). Pero para aquellos que no creen en el Más Allá, sus corazones niegan (la fe en la Unicidad de Alá), y están orgullosos.

23. Ciertamente, Alá sabe lo que ocultan y lo que revelan. Verdaderamente, a Él no le gustan los soberbios.

24. Y cuando se les dice: "¿Qué es lo que tu Señor ha enviado (a Muhammad hombres de antaño!"

)?" Dicen "¡Cuentos de los

25. Llevarán plenamente sus propias cargas el Día de la Resurrección, y también las cargas de aquellos a quienes engañaron sin conocimiento. El mal, en verdad, es lo que llevarán!

28. "Aquellos cuyas vidas los ángeles toman mientras se están haciendo daño a sí mismos (por medio de la incredulidad y asociando socios en la adoración con Alá y cometiendo toda clase de crímenes y actos malvados)". Entonces, harán (falsa) sumisión (diciendo): "Solíamos no hacer ningún mal." (Los ángeles responderán): "¡Sí! En verdad, Alá es el Omnisciente de lo que hacías.

29. "Así que entra por las puertas del Infierno, para permanecer en él, y qué morada tan malvada será para el arrogante."

30. Y (cuando) se dice a los que son Muttaqun (piadosos - ver V.2:2) "¿Qué es lo que tu Señor ha enviado?" Dicen "Lo que es bueno." Para los que hacen el bien en este mundo, hay bien, y el hogar del Más Allá será mejor. Y excelente será el hogar (es decir, el Paraíso) del Muttaqun (piadoso - ver V.2:2).

31. Y (los Jardines de la Eternidad) por donde entrarán, por donde fluyen los ríos, tendrán en ellos todo lo que deseen. Así Alá recompensa al Muttaqun (piadoso - ver V.2:2).

32. Aquellos cuyas vidas los ángeles toman mientras están en un estado piadoso (es decir, puros de todo mal, y adorando sólo a Alá) diciéndoles (a ellos): Salamun 'Alaikum (la paz sea contigo) entra en tu Paraíso, por causa del (bien) que solías hacer (en el mundo)".

33. ¿Esperan ellos (los incrédulos y los politeístas) que los ángeles vengan a ellos[para arrebatarles sus almas (a la muerte)], o que venga el mandato (es decir, el tormento o el Día de la Resurrección) de tu Señor? Así lo hicieron los que les precedieron. Y Alá no les hizo mal, pero ellos se hacían mal a sí mismos.

34. Entonces, los malos resultados de sus actos les alcanzaron, y aquello de lo que se burlaban les rodeó.

35. Y los que se unen a otros en la adoración con Alá dicen: "Si Alá lo hubiera querido, ni nosotros ni nuestros padres hubiéramos adorado sino a Él, ni hubiéramos prohibido nada sin Él." Y también los que les precedieron. ¡Entonces! ¿Están los Mensajeros encargados de algo más que de transmitir claramente el Mensaje?

36. Y de cierto, hemos enviado a cada Ummah (comunidad, nación) un Mensajero (proclamando): "Adorar a Alá (Solo), y evitar (o mantenerse alejado de) Taghut (todas las deidades falsas, etc., es decir, no 46

adorar a Taghut aparte de Alá)". Entonces de ellos había algunos a los que Alá guiaba y de ellos había otros sobre los que se justificaba el descarrilamiento.

37. Si tú (O Muhammad ) codiciáis su guía, entonces Alá no guía a aquellos a los que hace descarriar (o nadie puede guiar a aquel a quien Alá envía descarriado). Y no tendrán ayudantes.

38. Y juran por Alá sus juramentos más firmes, que Alá no levantará al que muera. Sí, (Él los levantará), una promesa (vinculante) sobre Él en verdad, pero la mayoría de la humanidad no lo sabe.

39. Para que Él pueda manifestarles la verdad de aquello en lo que difieren, y para que aquellos que no creyeron (en la Resurrección y en la Unicidad de Alá) sepan que eran mentirosos.

40. Verdaderamente! Nuestra Palabra a una cosa cuando Nosotros la queremos, es sólo que Nosotros la decimos: "¡Ser!" y lo es.

41. Y en cuanto a los que emigraron por la Causa de Alá, después de sufrir opresión, ciertamente les daremos una buena residencia en este mundo, pero en verdad la recompensa del Más Allá será mayor, si ellos lo supieran.

42. Son aquellos que permanecieron pacientes (en este mundo por causa de Alá), y pusieron su confianza en su Señor (Sólo Alá).

43. Y no enviamos (como Nuestros Mensajeros) ante ti (O Muhammad ) más que hombres, a quienes Nosotros inspiramos (para predicar e invitar a la humanidad a creer en la Unicidad de Alá). 44. Con signos claros y Libros (Enviamos a los Mensajeros). Y también te hemos enviado a ti (O Muhammad ) el recordatorio y el consejo (el Corán), para que expliques claramente a los hombres lo que se les ha enviado, y para que reflexionen.

45. Entonces, ¿están seguros de que Alah no los hundirá en la tierra, o de que el tormento no los arrebatará de las direcciones que ellos no perciben?

46. ¿O para que los atrape en medio de sus idas y venidas (en sus trabajos), para que no haya escapatoria para ellos (del Castigo de Alá)?

47. O para que los atrape con el desperdicio gradual (de su riqueza y salud). ¡De verdad! Tu Señor está lleno de bondad, misericordioso?

48. ¿No han observado las cosas que Alah ha creado, (cómo) sus sombras se inclinan a la derecha y a la izquierda, postrándose ante Alah, y son humildes?

49. Y a Alá próstata todo lo que está en los cielos y todo lo que está en la tierra, de las criaturas vivas en movimiento y de los ángeles, y no son orgullosos[es decir, adoran a su Señor (Alá) con humildad].

50. Temen a su Señor por encima de ellos, y hacen lo que se les ordena.

51. Y Alá dijo (¡oh humanidad!): "No tomes a Ilahain (dos dioses en adoración, etc.). Verdaderamente, Él (Alá) es (el) único Ilá (Dios). 53. Y lo que sea que tengas de bendiciones y cosas buenas, es de Alá. Entonces, cuando el mal te toca, a Él clamas en voz alta pidiendo ayuda.

54. Entonces, cuando Él haya quitado el daño de ustedes, he aquí! Algunos de ustedes asocian a otros en adoración con su Señor (Alá).

55. Así que (como resultado de eso) niegan (con ingratitud) los (favores de Alá) que les hemos concedido! Entonces disfruten (su corta estadía), pero llegarán a conocer (con arrepentimientos).

56. Y ellos asignan una porción de lo que Nosotros les hemos provisto a lo que no conocen (deidades falsas). Por Alá, ciertamente serás interrogado sobre (todo) lo que has fabricado.

57. Y asignan hijas a Alá! Glorificado (y exaltado) sea Él sobre todas las cosas que asocian con Él! . Y para sí mismos lo que desean; 58. Y cuando la noticia del nacimiento de una hembra es traída a cualquiera de ellos, su rostro se oscurece, y se llena de dolor interior.

59. Se esconde del pueblo a causa de la maldad de la que ha sido informado. ¿La guardará con deshonor o la enterrará en la tierra? Ciertamente, el mal es su decisión.

60. Para los que no creen en el Más Allá es una descripción malvada, y para Alá es la descripción más alta. Y Él es el Todopoderoso, el Omnisapiente.

61. Y si Alah se apoderara de la humanidad por sus malas acciones, no dejaría sobre ella (la tierra) ni una sola criatura en movimiento (viva), sino que la pospone por un tiempo determinado, y cuando llega su tiempo, no puede demorarla ni adelantarla ni adelantarla una hora (o un momento).

66. Y en verdad! En el ganado, hay una lección para ti. Te damos a beber de lo que está en sus estómagos, de entre las excreciones y la sangre, leche pura; apetitosa para los bebedores.

67. Y de los frutos de las palmeras de dátiles y uvas, se obtiene la bebida fuerte (esto fue antes de la orden de la prohibición de las bebidas alcohólicas) y una buena disposición. En verdad, en esto hay un signo para la gente que tiene sabiduría.

68. Y tu Señor inspiró a la abeja, diciendo: "Toma tus moradas en las montañas y en los árboles y en lo que ellos erigen.

69. "Entonces, come de todos los frutos, y sigue los caminos de tu Señor hecho fácil (para ti)." De sus estómagos sale una bebida de color variable en la que

los hombres se curan. En verdad, en esto hay un signo para la gente que piensa.

70. Y Alah te ha creado y entonces te hará morir, y de ti hay algunos que son enviados de vuelta a la senilidad, para que no sepan nada después de haber sabido (mucho). ¡De verdad! Alá es Omnisciente, Omnipotente.

71. Alah ha preferido a algunos de vosotros por encima de otros en riqueza y propiedades. Entonces, los preferidos no entregarán sus riquezas y propiedades a los (esclavos) que posean sus manos derechas, para que sean iguales a ellos en lo que a ellos se refiere. ¿Niegan entonces el favor de Alá?

72. Alah ha hecho para vosotros esposas de vuestra misma especie, y ha hecho para vosotros, de vuestras esposas, hijos y nietos, y os ha concedido una buena provisión. ¿Creen entonces en las deidades falsas y niegan el favor de Alá (al no adorar sólo a Alá)?

73. Y adoran a otros además de Alá, como no tienen ni pueden tener ninguna provisión para ellos desde los cielos o la tierra.

74. Así que no proponga similitudes para Alá (ya que no hay nada parecido a Él, ni Él se parece a nada). ¡De verdad! Alá lo sabe y tú no.

75. Alá da ejemplo (de dos hombres creyentes e incrédulos); un esclavo (incrédulo) bajo la posesión de otro, no tiene ningún poder de ningún tipo, y (el otro), un hombre (creyente) a quien hemos concedido una buena provisión de Nosotros, y la gasta secreta y 52

76. Alah presenta otro ejemplo de dos hombres, uno de ellos mudo, que no tiene ningún poder sobre nada (incrédulo), y es una carga para su amo, sea cual sea el camino que le dirija, no trae ningún bien. ¿Es igual a uno (creyente en el monoteísmo islámico) que ordena la justicia, y se encuentra en un camino recto?

77. Y a Alá pertenece lo invisible de los cielos y de la tierra. Y la materia de la Hora no es sino como un abrir y cerrar de ojos, o incluso más cerca. ¡De verdad! Alá es capaz de hacer todas las cosas.

78. Alah os ha sacado del vientre de vuestras madres sin que vosotros sepáis nada. Y te dio oído, vista y corazón para que dieras gracias (a Alá).

79. ¿Acaso no ven los pájaros sostenidos (volando) en medio del cielo? Nadie los tiene sino Alá[nadie les dio la capacidad de volar sino Alá]. Verdaderamente, en esto hay pruebas y señales claras para la gente que cree (en la Unicidad de Alá).

80. Y Alá ha hecho para vosotros en vuestras casas una morada, y os ha hecho de las pieles del ganado (tiendas de campaña) que encontráis tan ligeras (y útiles) cuando viajáis y cuando os quedáis (en vuestros viajes), y de su lana, pieles y cabellos (lana de oveja, pieles de camello y cabellos de cabra), un mobiliario y artículos de conveniencia (p. ej. alfombras, mantas, etc.), un consuelo por un tiempo.

81. 87. Y ellos ofrecerán (su completa) sumisión a Alá (Solo) en ese Día, y sus falsas deidades inventadas[todo lo que solían invocar aparte de Alá, por ejemplo, ídolos, santos, sacerdotes, monjes, ángeles, jinas, Jibrael (Gabriel), Mensajeros, etc.] desaparecerán de ellos.

88. Los que no creyeron y obstaculizaron la Senda de Alá, para ellos añadiremos tormento sobre el tormento; porque solían propagar la corrupción[desobedeciendo a Alá mismo, así como ordenando a otros (la humanidad) que lo hicieran].

89. Y (recuerda) el Día en que levantaremos de cada nación un testimonio contra ellos de entre ellos mismos. Y Nosotros te traeremos (O Muhammad ) como testigo contra ellos. Y os hemos enviado el Libro (el Corán) como una exposición de todo, una guía, una misericordia y una buena noticia para aquellos que se han sometido (a Alá como musulmanes).

90. 101. Y cuando cambiamos un Verso[del Corán, es decir, cancelamos (abrogamos) su orden] en lugar de otro, y Alá sabe lo mejor de lo que envía, ellos (los incrédulos) dicen: "¡Tú (O Muhammad ) no eres más que un Muftari! (falsificador, mentiroso)." No, pero la mayoría de ellos no lo saben.

104. Verdaderamente! Aquellos que no creen en el Ayat (pruebas, evidencias, versículos, lecciones, señales, revelaciones, etc.) de Alá, Alá no los guiará y el suyo será un tormento doloroso.

105. Sólo aquellos que no creen en el Ayat (pruebas, evidencias, versículos, lecciones, señales, revelaciones, etc.) de Alá, fabrican falsedades, y son ellos los que son mentirosos.

106. Quienquiera que no haya creído en Alah después de su creencia, excepto aquel que es forzado a ello y cuyo corazón descansa en la fe, pero que abre sus pechos a la incredulidad, sobre ellos está la ira de Alah, y la suya será un gran tormento.

107. Eso es porque amaron y prefirieron la vida de este mundo sobre la del Más Allá. Y Alah no guía a la gente que no cree.

108. Son aquellos sobre cuyos corazones, oído (oídos) y vista (ojos) Alá ha puesto un sello. Y ellos son los despreocupados!

109. Sin duda, en el Más Allá, ellos serán los perdedores.

110. ¡Entonces, de verdad! Tu Señor por los que emigraron después de haber sido puestos a prueba y después de haber luchado duro y luchado (por la causa de Alá) y de haber sido pacientes, en verdad, tu Señor después es, a menudo indulgente y misericordioso.

The Meaning of Surah 016 An-Nahl The Bees Las Abejas Spanish Version An-Nahl es el capítulo 16 del Corán. Su nombre se debe a la abeja mencionada en los versículos 68 y 69.

A Dios no le gustan los arrogantes porque sabe lo que mantienen escondido y lo que dicen o hacen abiertamente. Cuando se les pregunta sobre lo que Dios ha revelado, dicen que no son más que cuentos de hadas de los viejos tiempos. En el Día de la Resurrección llevarán sus propias cargas más algunas de las cargas de aquellos a los que llevaron por mal camino.

La gente de épocas anteriores sintió que el castigo venía sobre ellos de la nada. En el Día del Juicio serán humillados una vez más. Los que tienen conocimiento saben que será un día de miseria para los incrédulos. Aquellos que mueren haciendo el mal negarán su maldad, pero Dios está consciente de lo que estaban haciendo. Así que entran en el infierno y permanecerán allí en el malvado hogar de los arrogantes.

Versículos 30 - 40 Los buenos son recompensados y la promesa de Dios es verdadera A los que temían a Dios y eran justos se les preguntará acerca de lo que Dios envió y lo describirán como bueno. Hay recompensas en este mundo para los justos, pero su hogar en el Más Allá es aún mejor, es una morada excelente. Dios no era injusto con los incrédulos, eran injustos consigo mismos. Serán golpeados por las consecuencias de sus acciones y serán devorados por lo que solían burlarse y ridiculizar. Aquellos que enfrentan el castigo dicen que habrían adorado sólo a Dios si eso es lo que Dios ha querido; sus antepasados también dijeron eso. Se enviaban mensajeros a todas las naciones y su único deber era advertir. Si alguien viaja a través de la tierra puede ver lo que le pasó a aquellos que no hicieron caso de la advertencia.

Aquellos a quienes Dios llevó por mal camino no pueden ser guiados. La promesa de Dios de resucitar a los muertos es verdadera. Todo se aclarará y los incrédulos se darán cuenta de lo equivocados que estaban. Cuando Dios tiene la intención de que algo suceda, sólo tiene que decir: "Sé", y lo es.

Versículos 41 - 50 Reflexión Aquellos que tuvieron que dejar sus hogares para adorar a Dios encontrarán un hogar en un buen lugar, pero el hogar que tienen en el Más Allá será aún mejor. Un final muy feliz espera a aquellos que son firmes y ponen su confianza en Dios. Todos los mensajeros que Dios envió eran seres humanos, la gente de las Escrituras (judíos y cristianos) lo saben, así que pregúntales si es necesario. Versículos 51- 60 Adoración falsa Dios dice que no adoremos a dos deidades porque hay un solo Dios y Él tiene dominio sobre todo en los cielos y la tierra. Todas las bendiciones son de Dios y es a Dios a quien la persona angustiada se vuelve. Sin embargo, tan pronto como llega el alivio, algunas personas se vuelven hacia algo que no es Dios. Habrá consecuencias para la ingratitud. Incluso el sustento que Dios provee a veces se gasta en falsas deidades, pero cualquiera que haga esto será llamado a rendir cuentas. Versículos 61-69 Una advertencia para dejar las cosas claras Si Dios castigara a la humanidad por el mal que hacen, no quedaría ni una sola persona en la tierra.

En vez de eso, les da un respiro, hasta un tiempo determinado. Es un tiempo que no se puede retrasar ni comprar a plazo. Atribuyen a Dios las hijas que 67

ellos mismos no quieren. Piensan que tendrán una buena recompensa, pero su recompensa es el infierno, y estarán entre los primeros en ser enviados allí. Los seguidores de Satanás enfrentarán un castigo doloroso. El Corán fue revelado para hacer claras las cosas sobre las que discuten y es una guía y una misericordia para aquellos que creen.

Dios ha enviado la lluvia para revivir la tierra. Las vacas producen leche y las viñas y los jardines cultivan alimentos sanos de todo tipo. Estas cosas son una señal de la generosidad de Dios; en ellas hay una lección que aprender. Y Dios creó la abeja, que se alimenta de toda clase de frutos y produce miel para el beneficio de la humanidad. Viene en muchos colores y tiene propiedades curativas. Este es otro signo para los que piensan.

Versículos 70 - 81 Dios da ejemplos Dios te creó y es Él quien te hará morir. Algunas personas vivirán hasta una edad avanzada y perderán sus facultades. A algunas personas se les ha dado más provisión que a otras y muchas de ellas no comparten su riqueza. ¿Es esa una manera de rechazar las bendiciones de Dios? Dios les ha dado esposas, hijos y nietos, pero aún así algunas personas niegan Sus bendiciones. Esas deidades adoradas aparte de Dios no tienen poder.

Dios da ejemplos. ¿Son iguales los esclavos y los que han recibido todo? ¿Es una persona incapaz de cuidar de sí misma igual a alguien que es justo y que imparte justicia? El Día del Juicio está llegando. Los bebés 68

emergen del vientre de su madre sin saber nada, pero Dios les provee de oído, vista y mente para que puedan estar agradecidos con Él. Dios ha hecho que las aves puedan volar sin caer. Él provee a la humanidad con refugio y calor y todo lo que necesitan para el resto de sus vidas. Tienes prendas que te protegen del calor y del frío y otras prendas que te protegen en la batalla. Él te concede los favores para que te sometas a Él.

Versículos 82 - 89 Los incrédulos no sentirán ningún respiro El deber del Profeta es sólo entregar el mensaje. La mayoría de la gente entiende, pero son ingratos y se alejan. En el Día del Juicio habrá un testigo (su Mensajero) de cada nación. Entonces será demasiado tarde para excusas. Los incrédulos verán lo que les espera y no habrá respiro. Cuando los incrédulos apelen a sus dioses falsos, los dioses los llamarán mentirosos y se disociarán de aquellos que los adoraron. Aquellos que no creen e impiden que otros crean, tendrán un castigo mayor. Dios traerá un testimonio de cada nación y el Profeta Mahoma será el testigo sobre los musulmanes. Y el Corán ha sido enviado como guía, misericordia y buenas nuevas.

Versículos 90 - 100 Dios ordena justicia Dios ordena a la humanidad que sea justa y se comporte con rectitud mientras apoya a sus parientes.

Dios podría haber hecho a todos una nación, pero permite que la gente practique su libre albedrío - sin embargo, usted será responsable de sus acciones. No se engañen unos a otros ni impidan que otras personas adoren a Dios. Hacer esto resultará en un gran castigo. No rompa los acuerdos ni los juramentos.

Las cosas mundanas son transitorias, pero lo que viene de Dios es eterno. Los justos tendrán una nueva vida en el Más Allá. Cada vez que recites del Corán, busca refugio en Dios del maldito Satanás.

Satanás no tiene poder sobre aquellos que están sometidos a Dios; su poder sólo afecta a aquellos que se alinean con él (Satanás) y adoran a algo que no es Dios.

Versículos 101 - 111 Dios no guía a los incrédulos Cuando Dios sustituye un versículo por otro, dicen que el Profeta Mahoma ha inventado mentiras, pero no entienden que el ángel Gabriel ha hecho que los versículos sean poco a poco para fortalecer gradualmente a los creyentes. Dicen que un ser humano ha enseñado al Profeta Mahoma las revelaciones, pero este Corán está en árabe claro. Si la gente no cree, Dios no continúa guiándolos y el resultado final será un castigo doloroso. Ellos aman este mundo más que el Más Allá. Dios ha sellado los corazones, los oídos y los ojos de los desatentos, pero aquellos que deben huir de la persecución o que se 70

ven obligados a decir palabras de incredulidad sentirán la misericordia y el perdón de Dios.

Cualquiera que niegue la fe correcta voluntariamente sentirá la ira de Dios. En el Día del Juicio Final cada uno será tratado con justicia y obtendrá lo que se merece.

Versículos 112- 117 Comer de las cosas buenas que se proveen Dios presenta un ejemplo de un pueblo que estaba seguro con provisiones en abundancia. La gente se volvió ingrata, así que fueron afligidos por el hambre y el miedo. Negaron a su Mensajero y el castigo los superó. Así que come de las cosas buenas que Dios ha provisto y sé agradecido. Dios ha prohibido sólo la carroña, la sangre, la carne de cerdo y lo que se ha dedicado a algo más que a Dios. Pero si una persona tiene que comer estas cosas por necesidad, Dios le perdonará. No inventen mentiras sobre lo que es legal y lo que es ilegal porque aquellos que dicen mentiras sobre Dios tendrán sólo un pequeño disfrute antes de que el castigo los sobrecoja.

Versículos 118 - 128 Sigue el ejemplo de los justos y usa la sabiduría cuando hables de Dios.

A los judíos se les prohibieron ciertas cosas pero no fue una dificultad para ellos, ellos lo convirtieron en una dificultad. Dios perdona a los que hacen el mal por ignorancia y luego se arrepienten. El profeta Abraham es un buen ejemplo, fue devoto y obediente.

Estaba agradecido y no asociaba nada con Dios. Él tuvo una buena vida y estará entre los justos en el 71

Dios sabe mejor que nadie quién será guiado y quién se extraviará. Si usted debe tomar represalias, haga que su respuesta sea proporcional a la forma en que fue perjudicado, sin embargo, es mejor ser paciente.

Al profeta Mahoma se le dice que sea paciente y que no se aflige ni se angustie por las conspiraciones de los incrédulos. Dios está con aquellos que están atentos a Él y tienen una actitud de justicia.
