Talented Young Stars

Every year, Lee’s Got Talent promises to be a show full of surprises. Last December 2019, LGT did it again, proving once and for all that this show is where the most fabulous young stars of YPICA perform to showcase their talents.

The dedication that our students give to perfecting their skills in singing or dancing is remarkable, which is why the judges always have a hard time choosing the winner. It is a tough job especially when the audience also has favourites.

Nicole Alexis Pascual (6B) emerged as the winner of the two-day show which featured more than a dozen performances. Nicole’s masterful rendition of Adele’s “When We Were Young” was both heartfelt and poignant as she is set to graduate this school year. When asked by judges whether she had done anything differently this year to secure a spot, Nicole humbly replied that her goal was only to perform one last time on the YPICA stage.

Christ Saru (5B) waited for years to drum up the courage needed to perform solo on LGT. Taking the first runner-up spot, Christ wowed everyone when he appeared on stage wearing a platinum blonde wig and big sunglasses. He naturally has the energy and charisma of a young pop star and if he does make it in the field of entertainment one day, we can proudly say that he made his debut here in our school hall.

Representatives from Form 6C took the second runner-up and fan favourite trophies with their fun dance medley performance. From start to finish, theirs was the only performance with the loudest applause from the audience.

Lee’s Got Talent has upped the bar again. Next year, we will see more surprises, so if you are thinking of joining, we suggest that you start practising right now!
