HOUSE - Pangong Tso Lake, Ladakh.
House.
Driven by a small 20m x 20m site, the sloped terrain with its panoramic view overlooking the lake and mountainscape were the most significant elements in the process of designing the house. With the floor area of 225m2 the house consists of an open floor plan with wall systems segregating different areas within the house, a living room with an open kitchen and a bathroom unit, and a sleeping area.
The square floor plan enclosed with glass on all sides, provides access to all day sun to the interior spaces. The dark black roof and plinth is contrasted by a bright white interior, designed with absolute discipline to the monochromatic theme.
plan.
Foremost sensory role is of the nature itself. This was simply about to be a house on a hill. The flat roof, the open layout design and the usage of glass on all sides were the only distinctive functional elements implemented into the design.
Accordingly, the entire house is perceived as a single volume, greatly reflecting the surrounding nature from its every single point. The house thus becomes almost a lantern like object, casting light on its surroundings under the starry night.

Manifestos for Architecture - ANDC 2016
Parallel Projection – the idea of extending the limits of coordinates of form /body becomes an interesting space to explore how we imagine our cities, architectural form and time. The competetion was about representating of the city and its architectural form in its most interesting way of reinterpretation. It was an open ended exercise for a wide spectrum of ideations and to develop new ways of imagination of the city / its planning / form. As in the book of Italo Calvino – Invisible Cities, our memories construct innumerable subjective ways of writing and talking about places that we see / remember / imagine. Limiting the expression to the mode of innovative drawing is a means of finding a connect, and looking at possible new narratives that operates through drawing as a space.

HOUSING UNIT ISOMETRIC VIEW Flexibility of the grid binds the layers so intricately that ecosystems remain intertwined to serve the residents of utopia.
A man named marc finds himself in “The library of babel” and comes across an old book that has not been read ever before. Despite no views, the title of the book enamors him so much that he begins reading it. With each new chapter and each new idea he is inspired and taken to an all new world of his imagination... This is the compilation of selected excerpts from Marc’s journey in the quest of becoming an ‘Architect’. A journey marked by a spectrum of emotions arising due to the lust for truth. And hence the expedition unravels the various questions leading to an obvious dilemma. Each chapter revolves around a question leading to a paradox. This paradox filters the architect’s understanding of the known and the unknown. Rationality triggers the thought of right and wrong, fiction and reality whereas everything coexists in unison.
The City.
My eyes render the oblivion as I dream of a city where an ‘endless grid’ nurtures all components. A flawless ecosystem of unified realms, any realm which could contribute to man. A city where politics, economy, religion, sex, even first world problems wouldn’t hinder human comfort. Every emotion, activity and experience whether known or unknown to the living, carefully woven into the system of the city. Technology would aid humans to transgress the limits of nature. Here, only essentials prevail and celebrated, rest simply remembered through conservation. Layer by layer, function by function, space by space and realm by realm this city shall radically grow. Reason, Equity, Equality and Freedom being the only ideals, this utopia shall prevail
DYSTOPIA - SUSPENDED ANIMATION UTOPIA allures with a buffet of free choices….. it is not what it commemorates but what it exploits to seduce mankind. While phenomenology blinds man to think pragmatically, sensuality has been known to choreograph the mind to embrace what in reality is ostensible. PRISONERS OF CHOICE….
MARGIN.
#MARGIN - GSEN 2017
Margin is a newspaper on social issues and architecture. It deals with the stereotypes prevalent in the society. We curate conversations to tell a story about the role of architecture in today’s world. We make them available for you to do with as you please: to think on, to talk about, to design with. Feel free to take them and run, mis-read and butcher. After all, they are only ideas. Margin takes the form of normal A1 sized papers†that can also function as postersâ€. Each newspaper has a theme and content is derived from a series of discussions, debates, interviews, and research into the spatial implications of epochal shifts presently occurring in the information industry. It becomes a holistic forum for discussion of current issues through the medium of paper architecture. The first issue focuses on gender sensitivity and the urban poor. It tries to camouflage architecture with these discussions which were originally triggered by the posters.
Paper is an efficient tool to stir the public opinion because they can reach wide and specific audiences, and it reaches out to people who are otherwise isolated by poverty. An eye-catching poster or flyer with strong visualisation does not necessarily need words on it. They can hence also reach illiterates or deaf.
Installation of posters at various locations in Chandigarh, caught the attention of many. These posters spoke of several social stigmas and stereotypes, such as gender roles, urban poor and more, in a rebellious fashion. The idea was to engage the youth, rather the YOUTHFUL in healthy interactions, not necessarily verbal but essentially in the parallel projection of thoughts. The very fact a paper can provoke a thought, to breaking free of the threshold of rigid mindsets, makes it a democratic medium to instigate a dialogue amongst the crowd.
The medium of posters being used to cater these issues, whether in a public square or elsewhere, introduces the process to the realm of paper architecture. Paper, despite being a commodity, defies the tragedy of commons. A medium, which can be acquired by the masses, which is widespread, and diverse at the same time.

Village Acupuncture.
Restoring the Village Essence - Jayanti Majri.
Village acupuncture is a theory which combines design with traditional Chinese medical theory of acupuncture. This process uses small-scale interventions to transform the larger urban context. Sites are selected through an aggregate analysis of social, economic, and ecological factors, and developed through a dialogue between designers and the community. Acupuncture relieves stress in the body, and the theory of architectural acupuncture relieves stress in the environment. Acupuncture produces small-scale but socially catalytic interventions into the fabric of the village. Focusing on local resources rather than capital-intensive municipal programs promotes the idea of citizens installing and caring for these interventions. These small changes boost community morale and catalyze revitalization. It is meant as an alternative to large, top-down, mega-interventions that typically require heavy investments of municipal funds (which many cities at the moment simply don’t have). The micro-scale interventions targeted, appeal to both citizen-activists and cash-strapped communities.
