Over the next few pages we aim to introduce (or re-introduce) you to some of the new products you need in your beauty wardrobe for the new season.

New to Jarrold this autumn are brands such as celebrity and Instagram favourite Glamglow masks and the amazing Icelandic skincare brand Bioeffect. The Retreat day spa gets a new treatment menu with Decléor our new brand of choice for the holistic therapies and facials, and our spray tanning service has been relaunched using products from the renowned Sienna-X. Take a trend

METALLIC

The metallic eye is a makeup trend for AW17 with coppers and browns set to warm up the colder months. M.A.C makeup artist at Jarrold Jemima Chatfield shows you how to get the look.

THE LOOK

3. Use the M.A.C bronzing powder in socket line and blend over your eyelid. This will help soften the look of the eyeshadow.

4. Use M.A.C eye shadow in Ruddy and buff onto your eyelid, gradually building up the colour. Blend to diffuse any edges.

5. Take the M.A.C kohl eye pencil in Teddy and apply to the lower lashline and waterline.

6. Take the M.A.C eye shadow in Ruddy and apply over the eye pencil along the lower lash line.

STEP 1

Prep. Cleanse and moisturise.

STEP 2

Eyes. Start with your eyes so that any residue that falls on your face can easily be removed before you apply your base.

1. Apply concealer over your eye lid to even out colour.

7. Finish with a coat of M.A.C Extreme Dimension mascara in black and tidy up brows with brow gel and the M.A.C eyebrow pencil in Fling.

Add colour with the M.A.C bronzing powder over the top of your forehead, down your nose, on cheekbones and on jawline to create a natural glow. For a natural blush, apply a pink blusher to your cheekbones using a brush.

STEP 4

Finishing touches. Add luminosity to your skin using the M.A.C Cream Colour base in Shell to your browbone, cheekbone and cupid’s bow. Complete the look with a nude pink lip (Jemima used the M.A.C lip liner in Whirl and the M.A.C Viva Glam II lipstick in AA6).

For your BROWS Despite bleached out brows making a return this AW17, the bold, natural brow is still fashionable. So how can you get the look. Jarrold beauty manager Georgia shares her three top tips.

Leave your brows alone for six weeks so that you can discover your natural shape. It might be difficult, but this is the first step to getting the brows you have always dreamed of.

To maintain the natural shape of your brow, hold an eye pencil from your nostril up to the inner corner of your eye and draw a mark – this is where your eyebrow should start. Swing the pencil so that it goes diagonally over your pupil and draw a mark – this is where your natural arch should be. Finally swing the pencil across the outer corner of your eye – this is where your brow should naturally end.

Try threading instead of waxing to get a more natural look and invest in a good brow pencil to feather hairs in any sparse spots.

From nails to brows, it’s time to get groomed for the new season, says Jarrold beauty manager Georgia Vatter.

Georgia says: “When it comes to your nails this AW17, black, grey and brown are back. The denim blue look from the summer continues with blue-grey, khaki green and orange clay adding to the colour mix.”

I have recently discovered Charlotte Tilbury and I’ve been really blown away by the brand. My favourite products at the moment are the Wonderglow primer (1) and the Brow Lift pencil (2), which has a slanted edge making it easy to draw in individual hairs for a really natural look.

My hero product this autumn and winter is the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Infinite mascara (3). It adds real drama to my lashes.

I always have a good lipstick in my handbag – at the moment it’s the Charlotte Tilbury Stoned Rose, but as it gets nearer Christmas I like to go red with the Clinique Passion Pop as it’s my all-time favourite red (5).

If I had to pick just one of my favourite beauty products so far it would be the Clinique Take The Day Off makeup removing balm (4). Rub it over your skin and the makeup just melts off leaving your skin feeling clean and hydrated.

It’s a real gamechanger.

WHAT ARE THE HAIR TRENDS/LOOKS FOR AUTUMN/WINTER 2017?

There is a growing trend for more natural looking styles with soft waves or more blunt cuts that are cut into, to give more texture to the hair. When it comes to colour, copper and rose gold peachy colours are the new bleached blonde.

These shades are particularly good if you have olive skin and dark eyes, but if you want to go copper there is a shade that will suit you – just ask in the salon.

WHAT IS THE CUT FOR THE 2010s?

Rihanna’s bob was and still is a popular hairstyle with many adapting the style to suit their face shape (ask in salon what length bob will suit you if you want to go for this cut). At the moment Caroline Flack’s choppy one length bob is popular and is a look that is on-trend this autumn and winter.
