This issue of your Edit magazine is all about Timeless Style – those investment items that you buy now and love forever. Think of the staple winter coat, a classic white shirt, a good fitting pair of jeans – you get the gist. I’m 37 and too much can really look too much and is very noticeable (think the styles of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller they always look effortless). If I’m going out and want to make a real effort I like to focus on eyes and tend to go for a 90s look.

Jarrold AW18 campaign shoot at Holkham Hall

What better location for our Timeless Style shoot than at the grand 18th century masterpiece that is Holkham Hall. A family home, Holkham is described as an exceptional place, rich in history, architecture and wildlife. The combination of coast and countryside make for a spectacular destination for visitors. The hall is an amazing treasure trove with stories of residents past and present.

Our shoot mainly took place in the awe-inspiring Marble Hall which is actually constructed of Staffordshire alabaster, which is softer and more translucent than marble. The splendid colonnade was copied from that of the Temple of Fortuna Virlis in Rome, while the ceiling was inspired the Pantheon in Rome.

The marble effect provides a direct link between classic and contemporary style, and is a look that is so now, but that will last forever.

Forget waves, curls and texture, this season sleek, glossy, straight hair is back says Regis manager Craig Coates.

Updating your hair cut and/or colour is a simple way of giving your look a refresh for the new season. This autumn, hair styles are pared back and simple and classic colour makes a comeback.

Here is my lowdown of the key trends:

FOR THE CUT Straight hair is back and the blunter the cut the better! Cuts are all about working more with your face shape so that you get a cut that flatters you. Hair is also smoother and glossier, with less layers so that your overall cut is sleek and stylish.

For an updo the ponytail is king this season, and again, hair is sleek, shiny and straight. It’s worth investing in good shampoo and conditioner to get your hair in tip top condition. A good treatment to have to get your hair ready for these sleeker styles is the Nanokeratin Smoothing Treatment, which gives you straight hair for up to six months.

FOR THE COLOUR Balayage and ombre is on the way out as more classic highlights are making a comeback. Colour is more about natural tones with biscuit/vanilla blonde tones creating a more natural, earthy look.

One of my go-to pampering treats to feel fabulous is to have a gel manicure, says beauty sales manager Georgia.

Suddenly I feel put-together, polished (pardon the pun) and ready for action. Why has this treat turned into my regular monthly beauty regime?
