KF SKIS LOOKBOOK 2016-17
1
ABOUT Entirely handmade in Salt Lake City, Utah, KF Skis focuses on manufacturing skis that make the best days of our lives even better. Skier owned and operated, we ski the products we make and are constantly looking to make skiing as fun as possible. We use carbon fiber in a traditional sandwich construction with the intentions of making the best skis available. Our no compromise approach to ski construction is centered around performance and durability. Our use of full length wood cores, thick bases and edges, and rugged, full length sidewalls in conjunction with a carbon fiber layup produces a lighweight ski that can take a beating.
TECHNOLOGY FLYWEIGHT
Balsa wood and flax fiber cores provide the lightest possible core, and the added binding retention pockets allow it to support even the hardest chargers. This core allows you to get up the mountain the fastest, while still getting down in style.
CRUISERWEIGHT
Maple / Poplar cores provide a light and strong core with solid binding retention for a smooth damp ride that you can trust.
HRC-STREET
2.5x2.5 mm edges are industry leading in thickness providing the most durability on rails, stalls and stairs while still providing edge hold for the iciest days in the park.
HRC-48
2.1X1.9 mm edges provide durability for unwanted encounters with rocks and trees and provide superb edge hold on hardpack.
WATERSHED-TS
Textured nylon topsheets are a durable, chip resistant topsheet that offer better snow shedding qualities than their non- textured counterparts.
18-GAUGE
The 1.8 mm DuraSurf 4001 is the thickest sintered base available, so it is able to provide the best defense against rocks, sticks, stumps, and anything else you can throw at it while still maintaing race like performance.
14-GAUGE
The 1.4 mm DuraSurf 4001 sintered base is thick enough to take a beating off of rocks, sticks, stumps, and anything else you can throw at it while still maintaing race like performance.
ECO-SYRUP RESIN
We use the only USDA BioPreferred resin to insure we have the least enviormental impact possible when making our skis.

CARBONATED POP
Full length and width unidirectional carbon fiber provides more pop and responsiveness without a significant increase in weight. This creates a more lively, responsive, and fun ski.
TOORS TAIL
Full length and width unidirectional carbon fiber provides more pop and responsiveness without a significant increase in weight. This creates a more lively, responsive, and fun ski.
TORSION TECH
Biax carbon fiber increases torsional rigidity for improved edge hold on hardpack snow conditons.
SYMM-TWIN
Fully symmetrical sidecut and shape for a balanced swingweight and superior switch performance. Intended to be mounted dead center.
CHATTERPROOF
Rubber layers in the tip and tail absorb vibrations to reduce chatter and produce a smooth ride.
STRAIGHT CARBON
Our Straight Carbon layup features full carbon laminate around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity and stiffness while keeping the ski light enough for long days touring, or at the resort.
HYBRID
For our hybrid laminate we use full width fiberglass for a more playful and buttery ski, while still featuring full width carbon layers for added stiffness and pop, without increasing weight.
SANDWICH SHOCK
Full length UHMW sidewalls with VDS and urathane damping layers cut out vibrations and chatter for a smooth ride.

CARBON A-SENDER WEIGHT - 360G PER SINGLE BSL ADJUSTMENT RANGE - 280MM TO 330MM
This product is designed for the backcountry skier who desires the confidence and reliability of a dedicated alpine setup on the descent. For the uphill, the user simply inserts the adapter into their alpine binding, steps into the toe pins, and closes the quick release cam lever. The adapters engage the brakes, lifting them off the snow. The pin-tech toe pivot maximizes climbing efficiency, side hill rigidity, and glide. Additionally, this design eliminates the extra weight being lifted with each step that is common to frame bindings. The heel risers offer three height settings including approach mode, medium, and high. These risers can be easily articulated with a pole handle while remaining in a standing position. At the top of the line, the adapters are nested and compactly stowed in a backpack. Take multiple laps in the backcountry on a trustworthy setup with minimal change over down-time and without unnecessary fatigue. QUICK, EASY. NO FROZEN PARTS, NO FROZEN HANDS. With the initial release, it is only compatible with Look Pivot/ Rossignol FKS style alpine bindings. It is compatible with the increasing number of ski boots with both alpine and pin-tech functionality in the same sole blocks.
WEIGHT SAVINGS Minimal added weight overall, no added weight attached to your foot.
19
DOWNHILL CONFIDENCE Nothing beats the durability, elasticity and consistent release of alpine bindings. Earn it on the way up, enjoy it on the way down.
TORSIONAL RIGIDITY No more slipping off of the skin track because of a sloppy binding interface. Stay perpendicular to your skis and keep a firm edge bite when things get icy.
NATURAL PIVOT POINT The pin-tech pivot keeps the pivot point inside of your boot for an ergonomic stride. Smooth glide in the flats, easy kick turns when things get steep.
QUIVER INTERCHANGEABILITY Your touring collection now includes your entire alpine collection. Swap freely between your skis with no alterations necessary.
