History of Cafe in UK
Circular economy of coffee Bio-bean is a UK based company that uses coffee grounds before they end up in landfill to create products that can be re-used. bio-bean produces coffee logs, which can be used for burning in domestic wood burners. Each log contains the grounds from around 25 cups of coffee which are collected from businesses across the UK.
A cup of coffee comes from 0.2% of beans & 99.8% of coffee ground.The UK consumes 98 million cups of coffee every day, creating hundreds of thousands of tonnes of spent coffee grounds every year. Much of this discarded resource ends up in landfill emitting harmful greenhouse gases, including methane.

Coffee ground Dry processor Heating base The process of generating electricity from coffee grounds requires dry, warm temperatures and an oxygen-free environment. So I use a closed tank as a central processor, also keep transparent glass for people to see the process.

This space is for showing people the coffee power, not only by drinking coffee, but also can be an educational experience space for recycling used coffee ground getting citizens involved in the circular economy, and making waste to be new resource benefits each individual.

missing identity The project is inspired by my own experience. I am a Mongolian studying in a school dominated by Han nationality students. Exposed to Han culture, I gradually forget my Mongolian culture and language. There are many assimilated young people of other ethnic groups like me in China as Han people account for 91.51% of the total population. Yet the ethnic minorities boast valuable culture and handcraft that deserve to be inherited. The Christian Science Monitor reports that the latest “Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger” released by UNESCO warns of 199 endangered global languages, among which 18 are listed as critically endangered languages. A traditional Mongolian with vertical writing is also on the list, and is on the edge of extinction.

Although I am a Mongolian, I hardly know about my people's culture and can't speak Mongolian.
This project transforms a national theater located in the urban area of Baotou, Inner Mongolia: Manhan Theater. There are many residential areas and schools near the theater. The theater was built in the 1980s and was once a very famous national theater, but due to the decreasing audience, it gradually became idle. This project intends to transform the theater by combining ethnic primary school elements, so that nearby residents can re-see the charm of ethnic culture.

Therefore, I would like to design a space accessible to people at all ages, combining facilities of performance, amusement and education, where they can communicate and experience Mongolian culture, so as to reinvigorate it.

Aobao, embodiment of heaven and deity, derives from nomadic faith in Grassland God, and is a supreme tradition inherited from generation to generation.
Mongolian Theater
Aobao sacrifice is a traditional Mongolian custom of God worship. Standing in front of Aobao, Nomads pray for good harvests, lush grass, livestock ever-growth and nomad health.

Acoustic analysis Ealing Reverberation Time (T60) I analyzed the theater in sound field simulation with the software EASE 4.3. By adjusting the material, structure and other factors in the space, I improve the acoustic conditions of the theater to meet the basic use requirements such as RASTI and Percentage Articulation Loss of Consonants. Rapid Acoustic Speech Transmission Index (RASTI)
The Ilin reverberation time of an indoor theater is related to the sound absorption coefficient of various materials in the auditorium of the theater. Percentage Articulation Loss of Consonants（Alcons）

moun The site of this project is located in Chongli County, northeast of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, 220 kilometers away from Beijing. It is a famous tourist resort town of "Beijing Backyard Garden" and has advantages in the tourism and leisure industry cluster. The success of Beijing and Zhangjiakou in winning the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics has enabled Chongli to become the host of snow sports and enter the world stage.

Wanlong Ski Resort, located in Chongli District, covers an area of more than 30 square kilometers, with the highest altitude of 2110.3 m and perpendicular throw of 550 m, and is famous as “China’s snow paradise”.Unique in natural snowfall, Wanlong Ski Resort is equipped with more than 32 high-quality ski tracks.

A space can be designed to better these issues, in which functions are connected by the cable or track:
According to on-the-spot investigation in Wanlong Ski Resort, we find some skiing phenomena are very typical. We want to explore the reasons behind these phenomena, and use design to improve the experience of tourists.
Provide a warm plac for skiers who want t eat food or drink milk te while skiing, so that skier can get energy when the are tired.
The establishment of a skiing exploration area enables visitors to experience the fun of skiing in a safer way.

We found that some defects about medical equipment, leisure site design, and road design in Wanlong Ski Resort can certainly worsen visitors’ experience, which can be improved by the design.

The outdoor rest area is too simple, and it can't keep tourists from UV, rain or snow. Provide a indoor rest area for skiers.
Once injured, skiers can only ski down the hill with injury or wait too long for rescue. Besides, the medical personnel, quite shorthanded, will delay the best rescue time.

Functional division
It is mainly divided into equipment area, rest cabin and medical cabin; in addition, a hot drink area and VR skiing experience area are set in the rest cabin to provide skiers with a comfortable experience. Elevation hand drawing
The space beside the skiing track cannot be designed with sharp elements so as to avoid potential safety hazard. Therefore, the space is designed in an arc shape.
The medical cabin, separated from the rest cabin, is equipped with the mechanical installation on the top, which will lift the medical cabin separately to take an injured person to go down the hill.
The medical cabin will be hoisted up and down the hill along the track.

The overall level of skiers in this ski resort is 22.8% of skilled skiers and 77.2% of beginners. Skiing is a high-risk sport, and beginners are more likely to get injured. Increasing the medical cabin can relieve the pressure on the equipment of the medical staff in the original ski resort and provide timely medical equipment to skiers who are slightly injured.

With faint legal consciousness of stray animal management, little attention on stray animals plus insufficient animal shelters, stray animals live a bad life. Furthermore, the inundant stray animals bring a lot of trouble to people’s life.

83% 17% Stray animals have no fixed dwellings and food sources. They live on rubbishes. Unloving people may drive those dirty stray animals with sticks and even kill them.
The rescue station provides stray animals with a safe dwelling where they needn’t worry about not having food to eat, goodhearted people feed them and clean their cages every day.
After a long-time vagrancy, the companion animals finally find their own home when they have been adopted from the rescue station.

Lobby As the first space leading to the whole rescue station, the lobby is connected to the dining hall on the left, the pet hospital on the right and the pet area behind. A large area of glass is used on both sides of the lobby where the dining hall and pet hospital can be clearly seen by people in the lobby. The long passageway connecting the lobby, pet hospital and dining hall forms a buffer rest area.

The former rescue station was not equipped with medical facilities. Animals were always ignored when found to have symptoms, or the golden treatment time was missed when they were suffering from acute diseases, leading to the death of many animals.
Doctors in the rescue station can provide timely treatment for stray animals, and it is much convenient for the staff of doghouses and cathouses to take animals for routine examination and vaccination.
Functional Analysis The pet hospital is capable of diagnosis, examination, infusion, hospitalization and operation. A beauty salon is also added to facilitate the daily care of pets in the rescue station. 8

The front part of the pet hospital serves as a pet beauty salon. Pet owners can sit on sofas in the waiting area on either side of the reception desk and clearly see staff shower, dry and shear the hair of their pets through the glass.

The pet hospital provides the most important medical security for the rescue station of stray animals. Sick animals can be treated in time, and residents near the rescue station can bring their pets for examination and treatment.
Concept Diagram In view of inundant stray animals on the street, I want to design a stray anmial rescue station. This rescue station has improved its environment and added more human-pet interaction zones to bond human with pets to provide stray animals with a comfortable environment and help them find adopters. The rescue station is divided into functional zone and pet interaction zone. This part is the pet zone in the back of main entrance, mainly used for the cages of cats and dogs as well as the human-animal interaction.

Walking through the hall and walking down the aisle, people can see kennels distributed symmetrically on both sides and pets in the kennels through the clear glass fencing. The middle part is the human-dog interaction lawn, at the end of the road is a cat cafe.
