THE PLAZA, A NODE ON THE AXIS The central spine runs through and through the design making it the strongest visual feature. At the same time the Stepped Plaza zones out a mass of land forming an amphitheatre enhancing the idea of terraces right from the ground level responding to the existing contours.

CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND TRANSLATION The First Impressions based on the site visit derived an upward slope through the site which gave rise to the statergy to cut down majority of the Ramp based movement, moving ahead to glorify the central axis forming Garden Squares that spring out to the different functional units of the Institutions. The Mughul Gardens of India were influenced by the Persian gardens particularly the Charbagh structure, which is intended to create a representation of an earthly utopia in which humans co-exist in perfect harmony with all elements of nature. The Concept derived from these Gardens proposes the idea of the Central Courtyards/Breathing spaces/ Lung spaces that link the different functions of the Project.
THE TIE A horizontal overhead link to bridge the Research Unit of the Institute to the Hospital for enhanced practical understanding of the respective course. Thr Bridge creates a double height space underneath along the central spine that frames the conceptualization of the Project.

VOCATIONAL CENTRE GEOMETRIC TERRAIN
The Vocational Centre is an institution that looks forward to circulating its system of teaching and education over a span of time. The idea of distributing the respective professional courses and studios across terraces that acknowledge the site and its features. SEMESTER: V PROJECT TYPE: INSTITUTIONAL LOCATION: KORAMANGALA, BANGALORE BUILT UP: 5000 SQ.M CONCEPT: EMBRACING NATURE ALONG THE VERTICAL JOURNEY TO STEPPED TERRACES
SITE CONTEXT The site is located along the dense residential edges of KORAMANGALA, Bangalore. The longitudinal site running along the banks of the BBMP lake and park measures to be about 5000 sq.m in area and is elevated upto 1.5m above the road level. The strongest site feature acknowledged was the lake front and its respective terrain.
CONCEPTUALIZATION The motive of a Vocational Centre is to inspire and acknowledge the context, improvise and develop skill. The concept for the design took birth with respect to the study of context and as a gesture to embrace and address each aspect of the site. Stacked tiers with intermediate voids and floating slab resulted in multiple volumes that defined each space individually.

VOCATIONAL CENTRE | 020
The design wraps around the central majestic staircase that links all the levels of the to the mid platform that performs as a viewing deck to overlook the serene lake at a distance. The functional aspect of the design focusses on the privacy provison for the institute while respecting the chaotic community gathering spaces towards the temple. The landscaping pattern formed as a result of the play of levels responds to the stepped elevation of the institute. A welcoming Vocational Centre that reaches out to bind with the terrain of the site was the vision of the respective project.
THE CENTRAL STAIRCASE The Core
The heart of the design comprises of the central staircase section that binds the whole project together, horizontally bringing both the functional wings together and vertically stitching all the levels. The Staircase knits all the functional layering of the school i.e the office facilities, the workshops, classrooms and studios simultaneously opening it out onto decks and terraces.

HOUSING
THE SECOND JOURNEY
The housing project was introduced with an idea to have a second Innings set up that is feasible for an age group above 60, assuming a relaxing yet productive living cell for the people running the second Innings of their life.
SEMESTER: IV PROJECT TYPE: RESIDENTIAL LOCATION: SRIRANGAPATNA BUILT UP: 2500 SQ.M CONCEPT: INWARD LOOKING COURTYARD STYLE OF ROW HOUSING THAT FOCUSSED ON A LINEAR JOURNEY TERMINATING AT THE THRESHOLD
SITE AND CONTEXT The site is located about 50mts away from the KSR Road at the Ranganathittu crossing junction in Srirangapatna. The longitudinal stretch of the site is backed by a railway track and sits perpendicular to a water canal taking its birth around the sanctuary and steps down by about 3metres from the level of the road. The site facing the canal is crowned with a dense layer of trees and is surrounded with fields and agricultural plots all around.
The individual housing units are pushed to the outer corners inorder to enhance privacy and promote nature interactive living. The housing space are oriented to face and acknowlledge the site surroundings. The wall section through the balcony spaces define the material treatment and the kind of a spacial edge formed.
The housing that surrounds the community spaces is a translation of how the body of a human encompasses its skeleton which is what defines it. The nodes or the cores of community spaces hences generated are the Amphitheatre, the lounge spaces, pools and libraries. The housing that binds all the community spaces together is distributed in rows and corridors leading to them. The corridros in the design are inward looking focussing in the movement and the gatherings happen within these spaces.
BUILDING SERVICES PLUMBING AND SANITATION
Semester IV The building services studio for plumbing and sanitation focussed on understanding water supply, drain and circulation norms for a wide range of projects. Further case studies and reports were worked on the process of Rain Water Harvesting for different scales and functional projects.

SMALL STORAGE ADDITIONAL SEATING RECLINED SEATING THERAPISTS PLANTS
“A space should be something that supports you as you try to achieve specific goals,” explains Sally Augustin, PhD, an applied environmental and design psychologist and founder of Design with Science, an international consulting firm. First impressions can be crucial. None may be so important as the one your office conveys to someone beginning therapy. People take nonverbal cues from their environment. The moment someone enters a room, they are receiving messages that can influence their actions and emotions

PARAMETRIC THINKING BRANCHING- L SYSTEM BRANCHING
AN L SYSTEM OR LINDENMAYER SYSTEM IS PARALLEL REWRITING SYSTEM AND A TYPE OF FORMAL GRAMMAR. AN L SYSTEM CONSISTS OF AN ALPHABET OF SYMBOLS THAT CAN BE USED TO MAKE STRINGS, A COLLECTION OF PRODUCTION RULES THAT EXPAND EACH SYMBOL INTO SOME LARGER STRING OF SYMBOLS, AN INITIAL AXIOM STRING FROM WHICH TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION AND A MECHANISM FOR TRANSLATING THE GENERATED STRING INTO GEOMETRICSTRUCTURES. LINDENMAYER USED L SYSTEM TO DESCRIBE PLANT CELLS AMD TO MODEL THE GROWTH PROCESSES OF PLANT DEVELOPMENT.ORIGINALLY L SYSTEMS WERE DEVISED TO PROVIDE A FORMAL DESCRITION OF THE DEVLOPMENT OF SUCH SIMPLE MULTICELLLULAR ORGANISMS AND TO ILLUSTRATE THE NEIGHBOURHOOD RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PLANT CELLS.THE RECURSSIVE NATURE OF THE L SYSTEM RULES LEAD TO SELF SIMILARITY AND THEREBY FRACTAL LIKE FORMS ARE EASY TO DESCRIBE WITH AN L SYSTEM.THE RULES OF THE L SYSTEM GRAMMAR ARE APPLIED ITERATIVELY STARTING FROM THE INITIAL STATE. AS ,AMY RULES ARE POSSIBLE AS APPLIED SIMULTANEOUSLY, PER ITERATION. THE FACT THAT EACH ITERATION EMPLOYS AS MANY RULES AS POSSIBLEDIFFERENTIATES AN SYSTEM FROM A FORMAL LANGUAGE GENERATED BY A FORMAL GRAMMAR WHICH APPLIES ONLY ONE RULE PER ITERATION. EXAMPLE: FRACTAL TREE VARIABLES- 0,1 CONSTANTS- [,] AXIOM-0 RULES-(1- 11), (0-1[0]0) EACH CHARACTER OF THE INPUT STRING IS CHECKED AGAINST THE RULE LIST TO DETERMINE WHICH CHARACTER OF STRING TO REPLACE IT WITH IN THE OUTPUT STRING. IN THIS EXAMPLE, A ‘1’ IN THE INPUT STRING BECOMES A ‘11’ IN THE OUTPUT STRING WHILE ‘[‘ REMAINS THE SAME. APPLYING THIS TO THE AXIOM 0 WE GET: AXIOM:0 1ST RECURSION: 1[0]0 2ND RECURSION: 11[1[0]0]1[0]0 3RD RECURSION: 1111[11[1[0]0]1[0]0]1[0]0WWW
PROJECT TYPE: STUDY OF BRANCHING THROUGH NATURAL PROCESSES WORKSHOP: FULLSCALE 105 (2019) SOFTWARE UNDERSTANDING: RHINO GRASSHOPPER An L system or Lindenmayer system is parallel rewriting system and a type of formal grammar. Lindenmayer used L system to describe plant cells and to model the growth processses of of plant development. POST PANDEMIC ARCHITECTURE LIFE IN PODS
Full Scale 107 focussed on rethinking the future and followed A pattern of Innovation to understand how living could evolve with respect to COVID-19. Overlooking the huge demand to recheck safety and sanitary measures taken at all kinds of leisure spaces i.e resturants and cafes was the main motive of the one week workshop. Why LEISURE? Leisure and positive social interactions have a wide range of both physical and mental benefits. So taking ahead the idea of addressing dining and interactive spaces for an age group between toddlers to the youth opened to a wide spectrum of oppourtunities to understand and study human anthropometry and also attempt to design cubicle that were safe yet didn’t miss out on the idea of fun. Spaces moulded to be interactive zones that kept the children occupied yet safe and away from the adults. Iterations developed and varied from compressable modules that can be used to create a pod of required openess to stackable and foldable furniture creating a sense of community dining around.

TIMBER DETAILS 2019
PROJECT TYPE: HANDS ON WORKSHOP AIM: STUDY OF WOOD JOINERIES AND PROPORTIONING REPLICATION OF : ROOFING DETAIL, ARCHERY HALL AND BOXING CLUB, JAPAN The project included to study and understand the details and materials of the Archery and Boxing Club, Tokyo, Japan designed by the FT Architects. The project further extended into working on proptotypes and a full scale model of the joineries.
The Archery Hall was designed in a manner, the traditional timber composition was laid out simply by intersecting units. the simplicity of the module overlooks the idea to pbtain clean ends. The extensive study of the joineries started with making multiple prototypes understanding the scale of the project. The fullscale blown up detail was worked on in the inhouse maker space on campus that challanged one’s skills to understand precision, saw, chisel and drill into the wooden bars. The final product was sanded and polished.

MIND RAIN COMPETITIONS 2018
PROJECT TYPE: RESIDENTIAL CATEGORY: STUDENT DOM CELL PROJECT NAME : LAGORI PLATFORM: DIGITAL JURY STATUS: HONOURABLE MENTION The design requirements for the competition included the need of a living cell sace for about 4 design students with a studio space.
Lagori is a game where in stones are stacked like a tower, similar to the human mind and personality. One’s true self lies well beneath multiple layers that are projected out to the society. Letting go of the routine design norms and re-discovering oneself played an important part in the design theme. Aim of the design was to provide a space for architectural students to relax, rejuvinate and reinvent themselves.
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PORTFOLIO | 2022 | JASMINE JOEVITA DSILVA
A creative brain works on it’s dreams at the moment it possesses the ability to recall what it was about in the first place. The game of Lagori is simple stacked stones that stand with utmost potential and balance very similar to that of a human mind. The sections here represent the idea of stepping down through spaces keeping account of their need for interactions and privacy.

BODY painting
Body painting is a universal art form that connects people and artists together. It doesn’t matter where you are from, if you are into it, you are in it. The passion is the same and there are no international boundaries. The community is warm and tight, many of us know each other in some way. Body painting is an art form that people are naturally drawn to and we all understand it. COMPILATION OF WORKS FROM APRIL 2020 TO SEPTEMBER 2020 BASED ON CONCEPTUAL AND CASUAL SHOOTS.

FOOD & photography
Culinary art is both an art and a science. It requires more than just knowledge of the food being prepared and the methods of preparation. It involves what flora & fauna gives us in the form of ingredients. A chef is like a connoisseur, when the food is plated by him in fine dining which looks like a piece of an art that sometimes is beyond human explanation.
