The restaurant project was an opportunity to create an urban retrofitting for a restaurant of our choosing. I chose to use the program as a way to highlight the social conflict existing in the Castleberry Hill district in Atlanta, Georgia. Although gentrified, a remanence of the excavated still lingered. To incorporate the concept, the service elevator shaft was located in the center of the restaurant.
The integration and adjacency of dissimilar socioeconomic groupings allowed for sympathy and awareness through participation. Structure, circulation, ventilation, and access to light were the major components of the program. Other program aspects were parking, office space and food storage facilities for a local homeless shelter.

The Hospital was designed for Ghana’s rural region, approximately 87 acres of master planning. The hospital typology has a complex program; the images displayed only show a portion of the detailed research and planning made for the inpatient department and understanding of the remaining hospital programs. Group collaboration was encouraged, in order to gain understanding of hospital functionality. After thorough research, we were left to determine department allocation, circulation and privacy. The play terrace, inpatient care rooms and nurse stations display little hints of my creativity, considering the strict guidelines of a hospital. The view to the mountains down the hallway, and the planted mango groves, were my way of introducing nature as a healing element.

This structure was designed as a temporary wooded pavilion for the Great Lawn of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The form of the pavilion mimics the structural nature of the human body, distinctive parts combined to work as one whole, as Plato describes it. Each element ei, hand, forearm, leg and foot would be prefabricated parts connected with joints and assembled into sections. Each section would then be secured together with tension cables. These assembled sections of human gesture would combine to create movement like Eadweard Muybridge used in combined photography and Marcel Duchamp’s cubist painting Nu Descendant un Escalier. Hence a dynamic pavilion built with static parts

This thesis will develop a housing typology for young transitional homeless women with children located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. This research examines the modern living units through the lens of a visceral understanding of place and space. It is imperative that this community of “homes addresses the needs of young children of young women who even when working, typically never received substantial income. A suitable living condition for these women is not an isolated place but rather a unit within a larger communal and ever changing urban community; highlighting the ephemeral qualities which make a living unit a home and a non- institutional entity.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all thy might. Ecclesiastes 9:10
As a child, the way people functioned in space has always intrigued me. I would pass by, reflect and draw the plan. Furthermore, architects are liable for creating spaces and places which contribute to the wellbeing of others. I chose to study architecture because it affords me the opportunity to be creative in design, pulling from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds to develop unique space. This diverse perspective highlights the world and the people in it (our clients) as the priority. As an aspiring architect, I desire to work with a rigorous group of people committed to designing safe and efficient structures and spaces.
