2009.
What a year! We have certainly seen the Lord bless us in new ways this year.
After one delay on top of another, we finally got the keys to our first home July 3rd. That very night Lorelei was born. Two huge blessings in a matter of hours! We appreciate your prayers as we balance all of life—from home renovations to parenting to full-time ministry. Another notable event was the F2 tornado which we watched dance across the street from our new home. The Lord again kept us safe. Our home was spared, but the school at NTMC was severely damaged. The goal is to have the rebuilding completed for January.
Lauje Tribal Bible “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9
As a highschool student, it was missionary stories out of the Lauje tribe which stirred my heart towards becoming a missionary. When we visited Indonesia, the Lord opened up the way for me to visit this tribe for a Sunday morning time of worship. At the time I had no idea I would be working on formatting their first New Testament the next year. Please pray that I would be careful as I do the typesetting. Here is what John 3:16 looks like in the Lauje language:

Delena’s Diary I didn’t like it at first, but eventually I got used to Daddy going to work every morning. It is pretty nice that Mommy is helping with childcare out of our house for a family at Daddy’s work. And with Daddy gone, I get to help Mommy more with my little sister, Lorelei. I really like being a big sister.
