Sail aboard the oldest operating steamship, the RMS Segwun, and see our boat-building heritage at the Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre. Muskoka Wharf also has two Condominium buildings onsite offering unique waterside living options. THE GRAVENHURST OPERA HOUSE, which opened on March 12, 1901, is a spectacular heritage theatre with over one hundred years of rich history and cultural significance. After surviving a plebiscite in 1967, which debated the demolition of the theatre, community support came full-circle to initiate a multi-million dollar renovation in the mid-nineties. The project restored the incomparable craftsmanship and architectural beauty of the theatre and, at the same time, introduced the latest in lighting and audio innovations. The result is the hybrid advantage of modernized technology with historical beauty that can accommodate a variety of show types. Audiences of all ages enjoy classical concerts, theatrical performances, stand-up comedy, educational presentations and even rock and pop shows. The Gravenhurst Opera House has become the cornerstone of our arts, culture and heritage and is available as a rental facility for your Theatre Production Events or your Wedding and Reception.
