Alert Ready Ontario - NOW ACTIVE In cooperation with many partners, the Province of Ontario has launched a new Program in order to deliver critical and possibly life-saving alert messages to all Canadians through television, radio and compatible wireless devices. Wireless public alerting is geo-targeted so when alerts are issued, they will be delivered to each wireless device that is in or enters the alert area while the alert is valid. The purpose of the program is to warn Canadians about dangers that cause an imminent threat to life and property. When You hear an Alert, You need to stop, listen and respond as directed by the issuing authority and the alert message. For more information on how the program works, visit: www.alertready.ca
