The Town of Gravenhurst is providing an opportunity for residents to purchase trees and shrubs suitable to our local environment, to plant on private property.
2015 DAISY AWARDS The Gravenhurst Daisy Awards is an annual event recognizing residents, businesses and groups whose outstanding efforts have produced beautiful front yard gardens or landscapes, visible from the road, that contribute to a more attractive neighbourhood and community.
Landowners are encouraged to plant native trees and shrubs to help reduce pollution, provide shade, lower home energy costs, increase the value of your property, improve the appearance of our community and provide wildlife habitat.
Not only are the awards meant to recognize property owners for their efforts, but they are also meant to encourage other residents and businesses to upgrade and beautify their property. Winning properties are awarded by volunteer judges from the Gravenhurst Horticultural Society and Communities In Bloom. OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW The Town of Gravenhurst recently initiated a Review and Update of its 2008 Official Plan as directed by Section 26 of the Planning Act and will hold a Special Meeting of Council and two Public Workshops to discuss revisions that may be required to the current Town of Gravenhurst Official Plan.
