COMMUNITY FUNDING

CEMETERY MAINTENANCE

DOWNTOWN DOLLARS$

2016 Terence Haight Financial Assistance Program

Please be advised the Town will be working towards tidying up the existing lots located at all Town owned cemeteries in 2016. Currently several lots are overgrown and require maintenance in the form of pruning and or removal of existing monument vegetation. Under the terms of the Cemetery By-law 2012-058, the Town, as primary caretakers of the cemeteries, does have the right to remove vegetation to maintain esthetics. However, we are asking family members at this time to ensure that plot vegetation is maintained and managed accordingly to continue the appearance of the cemeteries. To avoid potential removal of non-maintained vegetation, please ensure you visit the cemetery prior to September 1, 2016. For applicable sites visit:

OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW UPDATE - TOWN OF GRAVENHURST WWW.GRAVENHURST.CA/OPR As we continue to receive feedback on what’s working in the Official Plan, and what’s not through individual meetings, and an Online survey and community workshops (held in September), we wanted to provide an update on upcoming time-lines as it relates to the Official Plan Review:

Do you own a Business in Gravenhurst?

• • •

We’re looking for your feedback! The Economic Development and Communications department has developed an annual business survey. We hope to create an environment where Gravenhurst businesses can grow and flourish. The survey only takes a few minutes! For more information, or to do the survey in person, please contact:

Following up on many of the issues identified to date, Policy Options Papers are currently being drafted by Planscape, and are to be completed in early December; The Official Plan Review Advisory Committee will review these Papers, which will then be made available for public review prior to December 23rd; Community engagement on policy options will begin in late January, 2016 (inclusive of public meetings/workshops, more detailed Online survey, etc.). More formal and precise details will be shared as it becomes available.

We would like to remind you that the Online survey www.gravenhurst.ca/OPR is a great way to provide your feedback. We would further note that staff is more than willing to speak/meet with individuals or stakeholder groups along the way. Thank you very much for your continued interest.
