PREPARING FOR COOLER WEATHER Cooler temperatures are upon us and that means many people will be turning to their wood stoves or fireplaces for warmth. An improperly installed or maintained appliance of any sort can be dangerous, particularly if you heat with wood. Gravenhurst firefighters urge you to have your chimney inspected and cleaned regularly by a W.E.T.T. certified technician. If you are thinking about installing a wood stove, check with the building department as permits may be required to ensure a safe installation.
