Holiday Kitchen Activity Everybody knows December tends to be the one month of the year when all sorts of normality and common sense goes out the window. We are so occupied with buying the right present, the right Christmas tree and cooking just the right turkey dinner. Getting everything right consumes our every thought and sometimes we pay for that with serious consequences. Cooking continues to be the leading cause of home fires and injuries and we know kitchen fires can be prevented. Almost half of the reported home fires started in the kitchen. Sparky is offering a few kitchen cooking tips which we hope you find to be helpful reminders. 1. Never leave cooking unattended. If you need to leave the kitchen, even for a short time, shut the stove off.
