• Current Information • Community Resources The Town of Gravenhurst will be closed on Wednesday July 1st to celebrate Canada Day. We will be back to answer your calls and emails on Thursday July 2nd. Enjoy the day and remember to practice safe physical distancing.

GRAVENHURST LIBRARY Curbside Touchless Pick Up is now available at the Gravenhurst Public Library! Place your items on hold with your library card or call us to let us know what you would like and then pick them up when they are ready! See our website for more information. Our book drop box is also open for returns of checked out items.

TREE CONTROL Prior to the removal or planting of any trees, it is best to contact the Town of Gravenhurst By-law Department to determine if it is permitted or if there may be a future conflict. No person shall plant or cut a tree on public land without written permission from Council. The planting of trees shall not become a nuisance or an obstruction to public land. Town of Gravenhurst staff may remove prohibited species or diseased trees without notice to any person within the best public interest. A public request can be made for removal of diseased or healthy trees from public lands.

Monday June 29th at 2pm – 3D Frenzy and Print Prediction Contest – This all ages event will be teach the basics of 3D printing steamed live on Facebook.

A Permit must be obtained from the Town prior to injuring or destroying any tree as outlined in the Tree Preservation By-law, which applies to the following lands within the Town:

Mondays & Fridays at 10am Virtual Storytime with Maryn & Jocelyn – Enjoy stories old and new with this adorable duo. Tuesdays at 2pm – Thinkers and Tinkers Lab: Home Edition - Participate in interactive, engaging and educational, S.T.E.A.M activities, trivia and games! Wednesday at 10am – Sign & Sing – Learn American Sign Language while singing. Thursdays at 2pm – Amazing Builders Club – Building and design challenges with materials you can find at home. Every week a new theme! All Summer Awesome Authors – Become awesome authors with this new biweekly writing program for older children and teens. • All lands within 60 metres of the Optimal Summer Water Level of a lake or river bed, • All lands zoned Environmental Protection, Flood Plain, Flood Fringe and Floodway and their respective setbacks as per the Zoning By-law, • All lands within the shoreline vegetation buffer, • All lands within 45 metres of the Highway 11 MTO right of way, and • All lands within 20 metres of roadways within the Town that are deemed scenic corridors (Note: This also applies to trees designated as heritage trees)
