NOTICE TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst proposes to enact a by-law to close, stop up and sell those parts of the original shore road allowance described as follows: That part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot 31, Concession 1, Township of Morrison, now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 35R-22098 (SEVERN RIVER) AND TO SELL that part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot 31, Concession 1, Township of Morrison, now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 35R-22098 (SEVERN RIVER) THE PROPOSED BY-LAW will come before the said Council for consideration at its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 5:00 o’clock p.m. and at that time the Council will hear any person or by his Counsel, Solicitor or Agent, any person who claims that his lands will be prejudicially affected and who applies to be heard. Members of the Public are strongly encouraged to make written submissions concerning the application prior to the Public meeting, directed to the address below. The Public Meeting will be held ELECTRONICALLY in accordance with Section 238 of the Municipal Act, and the Town’s Procedural By-law. Members of the public wishing to make oral submissions to Council may do so through Zoom. MUNICIPAL ELECTION DAY is Monday October 24, 2022 NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of Gravenhurst that Nominations may be filed for the offices of: • • • • • • •
Mayor One (1) to be elected at large by all voters in the municipality District and Town Councillors Three (3) to be elected at large by all voters in the municipality Councillor (Ward 1) One (1) to be elected by all voters in Ward 1 Councillor (Ward 2) One (1) to be elected by all voters in Ward 2 Councillor (Ward 3) One (1) to be elected by all voters in Ward 3 Councillor (Ward 4) One (1) to be elected by all voters in Ward 4 Councillor (Ward 5) One (1) to be elected by all voters in Ward 5
Nominations are to be filed with the Clerk, or designate, and may be made by completing the prescribed Nomination Form and associated documents with acceptable identification, and the nomination filling fee. Nominations must be signed by the candidate and filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours beginning on Monday May 2, 2022 through to 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day). Appointments are not required, however, are recommended to align the availability of election staff.
