NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING TOWN OF GRAVENHURST DEVELOPMENT CHARGES Take Notice that on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the Council of the Town of Gravenhurst will hold a public meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, 1997, regarding proposed development charge rates and policies that will be applied throughout the Town. It is proposed that enactment of a new Development Charges By-law by Council would occur on the same evening as this public meeting. Development charges are levied against new development, and are a primary source of funding for development-related capital expenditures. Services include library, fire protection, parks and recreation, public works, roads and related, general government and municipal parking. Council is required under The Development Charges Act, 1997, to hold at least one public meeting to allow the public the opportunity to review and provide comments on the April 2019 Development Charges Study, related staff reports and the proposed Development Charges By-law. A copy of the Development Charges Background Study was available on the Town’s website www.gravenhurst.ca since April 18, 2019. The proposed Development Charges By-law will be made available on or before December 3rd, 2019. Hard copies will be made available at the Town office. Any person may attend the public meeting and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the By-law.
