Sparky has provided some great fire safety tips to be added to your book of recipes.

PUBLIC NOTICE TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst proposes to enact a by-law to close, stop up and sell those parts of the original shore road allowance described as follows: That part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot L, Concession 20 (Wood) now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 and 2 on 35R-26262 (Severn River) AND TO SELL that part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot L, Concession 20 (Wood) now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 and 2 on 35R-26262 (Severn River), to the adjoining owner or owners of them.

The difference in these recipes though, is that they will never get too old. And, the recipes will not change, no matter how they age. Just for good measure, here are a few more for your book: 1. Deep fat /oil frying is a major concern to fire departments as it is recognized to be a major kitchen hazard. 2. If you frequently cook/fry with oils, be sure to thoroughly clean the underside of the exhaust hood above your oven. Oil/grease residues can accumulate in this area, which could overtime become a fire hazard. 3. Heating oil in a pot can easily overheat and ignite into a ball of flames. 4. Check the exhaust hood filter from time to time and clean, wash or replace as necessary. Oil and grease can be trapped in the filter. 5. We recommend that only a deep fryer with a thermostat control unit be used.

THE PROPOSED BY-LAW will come before the said Council for consideration at its regular meeting at Gravenhurst Municipal Office, 295 Muskoka Road South, Gravenhurst, Ontario on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 5:00 o’clock p.m. and at that time the Council will hear any person or by his Counsel, Solicitor or Agent, any person who claims that his lands will be prejudicially affected and who applies to be heard. Written submissions concerning the application may be directed to the address below.

DATED: October 1, 2020 (FLOWERDAY) Kayla Thibeault-Clerk The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst 3-5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst, Ontario P1P 1Z3

6. Flash fires from overheated oils can flare up instantaneously. Be attentive to your cooking at all times. For more thoughts and ideas of “serving up safety in the kitchen”, Visit Gravenhurst.ca/fire or call 705-697-3414 ext. 223.
