Program Overview With more and more microcomputer-based systems entering the marketplace, there is a need for people who can link their computer hardware expertise to the general needs of business. This concise computer repair program prepares you to step into that role by combining a broad range of computer-related courses with strong interpersonal skills training. On the technical side, you’ll gain a working knowledge of the various aspects of the field. You’ll learn basic computer hardware theory, operating systems and application programs, and you’ll also get plenty of hands-on experience with installing, maintaining and applying trouble-shooting techniques. On the business side, you’ll learn to develop approaches for maintaining strong customer relations, providing effective technical support and improving your employability. Upon completion, you’ll have a valuable combination of technical and business abilities to start you off in the career direction of your choice. Admission Requirements Centennial College expects students applying for admission to certificate or diploma programs to present at minimum an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent or be 19 years of age or older. Possession of minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program. Academic Requirements • •

Most of these courses are equivalent to the first and second semesters of Computer Systems and Networks Technician/Technology (Codes 3404/ 3405/ 3415) programs. Graduates may bridge into the Computer Systems and Networks Technician/Technology programs. The qualification requirements and costs for each external accreditation, designation, certification or recognition are set by the granting body and not by Centennial College. In order to qualify for any of those external accreditations, designations, certification or recognition, students and graduates will need to follow the processes and meet the applicable requirements listed on the websites and materials of those external bodies.
