If You Continue Education, You Can Obtain Your Dream Career Attending fulltime postsecondary studies is not the answer for everyone. Some people may have families to support via parttime jobs, others may not be able to travel on campus to attend classes and others still may not be able to afford going to school on a fulltime basis. However, if you want to continue education, there are alternatives. The most common alternative is to attend a parttime program, also known as continuing education. This format encompasses everything from degree credit courses and workforce training to selfdirected learning (also known as distance learning, via virtual classrooms) and nondegree career training. To continue education in this way has also become very common in workplaces that expect employees to upgrade credentials and knowledge as companies expands or evolves due to technology. At Centennial College in Toronto, Ontario students have a variety of options to continue education. These choices range from evening and weekend classes to online alternatives. The adultfocused environment makes it convenient to finish a degree or start a new one. Professors and instructors at Centennial College understand that the 22,000 parttime learners who attend Centennial College's 160 programs each year require a different approach than fulltime students, and courses are designed to reflect this consideration. As a result, there is an effective instructor to student ratio and an optimal classroom size that enables competent peer interaction. In addition, handson knowledge that places relevant theory into context and perspective is emphasized in all courses. When you look at the numbers, it's evident that students who continue education at Centennial agree with the school's approach. There is a 97 per cent experience learner satisfaction rate at Centennial's Continuing Education School. Centennial College's parttime options are extremely varied.
