CME TO THE COMMUNITY Dear members and friends of Cámara de Minería del Ecuador: We are pleased to inform our members of the activities carried out between August and October 2014.

SUPPORT TO MUÑOZ GUERRA CONSULTORES With the support of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining (Cámara de Minería del Ecuador, CME per its acronym in Spanish) on August 5 and 6, 2014, the advisory and audit firm Muñoz Guerra Consultores & Auditores organized a training course on IFRS for a distinguished group of CME members. CME encourages corporations registered as special providers to promote their goods and services for the mining sector.

The Colombian Mining Permanent Dialogue Roundtable along with Avina Foundation hosted the international forum “From damages of mining to mining as opportunity” held on September 1012, 2014, with the attendance of delegates from several countries. María Dolores Iturralde, Executive Director of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining represented Ecuador. Different discussion panels and worktables were conducted to exchange experiences from other countries of the Americas, regarding the mining activity, its challenges and opportunities.

2014 OLAMI ANNUAL ASSEMBLY - QUITO The Annual Assembly of the Latin American Mining Organization (Organismo Latinoamericano de Minería, OLAMI per its acronym in Spanish) was held in Quito, onOctober 15, 2014. The meeting gathered more than ten representatives from Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Denmark, Bolivia, Dominican Republic and Ecuador. The members released the “Olami Declaration” that embodies their compromise with the mining activity and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and Sustainable Development established by the United Nations.

The agenda also included a meeting with Mr. Rafael Poveda, Minister of Strategic Sectors, in order to exchange experiences among the participants and to hear directly from the Ecuadorian Government authority, the prospect and future plans related to the mining sector. Also, on October 16th, Olami representatives organized a seminar where the current situation of mining in Latin America was explained. It was a pleasure for CME to host such an important and successful forum.

PRESENTATION OF MR. ANDRES YCAZA: “CURRENT SITUATION OF THE MINING ACTIVITY IN ECUADOR AND FUTURE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE SECTOR.” EMBASSY OF CANADA AND THE ECUADORIANCANADIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE The Ecuadorian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Canada in Ecuador organized a business breakfast to discuss about wireless technologies applied to mining. Mr. Andrés Ycaza, Vice-president of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining was invited to present the conference “Current situation

of the mining activity in Ecuador and future expectations for the sector.” The objective was to link locally domiciled and foreign mining corporations operating with state of the art technology that could be of great benefit to improve extraction processes in an efficient and productive way.

MEETING WITH MR. GENARO BALDEON H., VICE-MINISTER OF FOREIGN TRADE Mr. Javier Cruz, President of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining held a work meeting with Mr. Genaro Baldeón, Vice-minister of Foreign Trade in order to discuss and present joint alternatives to attract investments to the coun-

try. This was the first of several meetings between both entities.

VISIT OF KALOTI CORPORATION REPRESENTATIVES A work meeting was held with a representative of Kaloti Corporation; Mr. Manuel Robles from ProEcuador; Mr. Andrés Ycaza, Vice-president of CME; and, Mr. John Bolaños, member of the CME Board. The Dubai Corporation Kaloti has expressed their intention to invest in mining projects and/or

purchase of minerals. Representatives of CME shared truthful and objective information of the country´s mining situation, mineralogical potential, projects, legal and fiscal framework, among other topics, in order to answer the concerns of these potential investors.
