Quarzo Quito - Ecuador Corbal Interna�onal. 2013 Residen�al tower

Located in a dynamic and progressive neighbourhood such as La Floresta in Quito, Quarzo is a residen�al tower with an op�on for everyone. Sustainability and Social interac�on are also key parts of the design. The composi�on of volumes of the project have the func�on of both dismantle a volumetric mass too large for the street scale and to provide shadows and privacy to the apartments.

The public terraces at the rooftop enjoy fantastic views of the city



To avoid generating a single massive volume, the building is divided into smaller and pedestrian scaled parts.

The unusual size and number of social areas (such as Gym, Day care, Terrace, Communal room, BBQ, etc.) and green spaces are aimed to facilitate the connection between neighbours.

Tradi�on & I nnova�o n

Being the Quito´s residential market very conservative,traditional materials were used. Open spaces, indoor-outdoor interaction, privacy, and flexibility are some of the characteristics of each apartment.

Flexibility: With 13 different models ranging from lofts to 3 bedroom apartments, there is a typology for students, couples, for renting, or any kind

Loft: Aimed for single person or couples, the loft units enjoy a double-height open space. Stairs and illumination make emphasize it.

Vegetation: As they are more exposed to sunlight, both the ground floor units as the ones with bigger terraces enjoy grass, small plants and even trees on planters.

The indoor - outdoor relationship is one of the most attractive elements of the project.
