The Evolution of Team Davidow

After graduating from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville in 1990, Aimee Davidow moved to South Florida to attend The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After graduation, Aimee began working in talent management. By 1995, she had started her own management company, Junior Talent Management, which she ran for the next 12 years. Aimee loved working with young actors and models, but after over 17 years in South Florida, she was ready to return home.

“Not having a market for talent management in Jacksonville, I needed to find a new career,” Aimee reflects.

Aimee’s mother, Martha Dickerson, had been in real estate since Aimee was a child. As adults, Aimee and her mom often talked about real estate and talent management businesses.

“The similarities between the two were astonishing,” Aimee continues. “In talent management, I was connecting actors with work and negotiating deals. In real estate, you connect buyers and sellers and negotiate deals.”

So, upon returning home, Aimee decided to try her hand at real estate. She began a new professional adventure with her mother as her mentor and office manager.

15 Years and Counting Aimee has now been a REALTOR® for over a decade and a half.

“Working in real estate was a good fit,” Aimee beams. “I truly enjoy helping people. No two days are ever the same. And you get out of it what you put into it. I’ve always been a hard worker, so I wasn’t afraid to put in the hours.”

Aimee recognizes that REALTORs® wear many hats; her two favorites are educator and counselor.

“My job is to help them accomplish what they want to accomplish. I need to hear what’s most important to them to know how to guide them best,” she says.

Building a Team For many years, Aimee operated as a solo agent with a closing coordinator. She was successful but struggled with balance.

“Evenings, weekends and holidays were always consumed by work. I heard people talk about teams, but I never wanted that,” Aimee reflects.

However, Aimee began to take notice of the people around her. She realized that many of her clients and friends possessed qualities and skills that would complement her own. So, she began asking for help. She brought on a stager, a social media manager and then an assistant. As each matured in the business, they got their license. And so, Team Davidow was born.

“Before I knew it and definitely before I had planned it, I had a team. An amazing team! And they have truly made me who I am, brought out my best and given me so much that I can never thank them or repay them enough,” Aimee says.

In 2021, Team Davidow closed 137 transactions for $42.8 million.

Meet the Team

Aimee and Maria Miller have been friends since high school. Maria was a repeat client of Aimee’s, and she eventually joined the team as the social media specialist. Not long after, she was licensed. With her sales business thriving, she recently passed the social media torch to another teammate.

Aimee and Sara Galloway were first introduced when Sara worked as the closing coordinator for another agent. Aimee was impressed with Sara, and they became fast friends. Many years later, when Sara was ready to make a move, she reached out to Aimee and joined the team.

“We call Sara the real boss. She keeps the ship running while we are all out making things happen. None of us would be successful without her,” Aimee says.

Aimee also met Carolyn Smith while she was a closing coordinator for another agent. Over the years, Aimee employed Carolyn part-time, and eventually, Carolyn joined the team full-time. Today,

Carolyn is a top 10% local REALTOR® and the team’s listing specialist; she handles staging, photography and marketing for listings.

Angela Stancil is a former client of Aimee’s. As she looked to transition from being a stay-at-home mom back into the workforce, Aimee brought her on to handle her social media marketing. Angela eventually became Aimee’s fulltime assistant.

“When she decided to get her license, I was both excited and nervous. What would I do without her as an assistant? Well, it just didn’t matter. Her career skyrocketed so quickly that she now needs her own assistant. She has absolutely blown me away with her production. We still count on her for fun social media ideas and marketing ideas. We just have someone else implement them.”

Angela eventually hired one of her former clients, Amy Nauman, as her assistant. Today, Amy is the marketing director for all of Team Davidow, and Angela’s assistant.

Rounding out the team is Crystal Fetzner. She is the newest social media director for Team Davidow.

“And she promises not to become a REALTOR®, so hopefully, we won’t have to find a new one anytime soon,” Aimee laughs.

Living in Balance

With a strong team, Aimee has been able to achieve a much better balance in her life. She’s been married to her husband, Larry, for 27 years. They have two children, Drew (23) and Piper (22). As a family, they enjoy traveling and creating new memories.

When she’s not working or with her family, you’ll find Aimee on the tennis court. She started playing a few years back and finds that her practice benefits her physically and mentally.

As we closed our interview with Aimee, we asked her what the future holds, personally and professionally. Rather than responding with concrete professional goals, she chose to appreciate what she has in the present moment.

“Who knows [what the future holds]! But as long as I’ve got my family and my team, I’m up for it.”
