The Raisin Cake Orchestra is a quartet bringing a new direction to jazz in this region of the Southeast. Members John Champman (bassist), Jim Snyder (clarinetist), Scott Giddens (pianist/organist), and Ben Adkins (percussionist/composer/ producer), draw on a wide range of music from the American Songbook, jazz standards, and original material, RCO combines the melodies, harmonies, and rhythms of jazz, blues, and New Orleans funk to create a sound unique to this area, where deep-fried grooves go hand in hand with musical virtuosity on every instrument.
